Hey gals and guys, sorry I haven't updated in a long time I just never had the time to. I'm questionable on this chapter, I may end up editing it or rewriting it. But I figured that I should at least show that the story isn't dead. Well, let me know what you lovely readers think. On to the story!
“Danny. Danny wake up.” The voice said as something poked his chest.
“5...5 more minutes...” Danny mumbled incoherently.
“Danny, you already said that... 10 minutes ago.” An annoyed Jazz answered him.
“Just... 5 more.” Danny had his eyes closed and tried swatting away the thing that poking him but he missed every time he tried.
Jazz smiled at his actions. She knew why he was so tired, that he was hunting ghost again last night. After all, she had peeked into his room late last night to find a note on his empty bed writing in the coded language they both made up. They made it so that their parents didn’t know what they were talking about when they needed to talk privately but had no where to go. Jazz knew Danny was part ghost; she had confronted him or was it that he confronted her? Anyway back to the fan fiction, Jazz knew and didn’t care, all she cared about was that they were close again. She felt guilty about waking him, she knew he needed sleep but if he slept anymore he was going to be late for school, again. Jazz continued to look at her little bother when an idea had popped into her head, causing a mischievous smile appear.
“Danny! Watch out! One of mom and dad’s inventions is on the lose! And is heading your way!Run!” She said loudly as she was backing away from the bed.
With that having been said, Danny startled and barely awake had jumped out of bed and was about to run but ended falling strait on his face on the hard floor. When he landed he looked at his feet to see what had made him trip so suddenly. It was his blankets; it had gotten entangled with his feet. Danny fought of the blankets as fast as he could while frantically trying to find the ghost hunting invention that was “coming” his way. He finally won the battle with his blankets and sat up still seeking for the device carefully, making sure that he wouldn’t be hit, when he heard laughter coming from the doorway. Danny saw Jazz there clutching the door frame while laughing her ass off at his crazy antics.
“Jazz! What the Hell!” A frustrated Danny said while sitting on the floor and facing her.
“Dan, hahaha, Dan-ny, hahaha, you’re gona be late, hahaha for school.”
Danny glared at his laughing sister for a moment then looked at the time , it said 7:00a.m. She was right, school started at 8:00a.m. and he didn’t even fight the Box Ghost yet!
“Crap! I’m gona be late!”
Jumping to his feet and over to he closet. Somehow, as he reached the closet he lost his balance and fell into it. Jazz had finally stopped laughing, that was until she had seen Danny falling into his closet which resulted into her bursting into another fit of giggles again. Somewhere over the laughter and the muffled cry of ‘ooffa’ as Danny landed, Jazz could hear a muffled yell of "Shut it, Jazz!" After over coming all the laughter, she had finally caught her breath and she told Danny that she would drive him to school so he wouldn’t be late. Also, that he wouldn’t have to face the Box Ghost until later on, most likely at school. He thanked her and continued to look for something clean to wear in his closet.
“Come down stairs and eat breakfast, then we’ll leave.” Jazz said as she was leaving his room.
Two minutes later.
“Jazz?...” Danny walked out of the closet and looks around the room for his sister. He sees that his back pack was already packed and near the door to the hallway.
“No sign of her. Oh well,” Danny looks at the time again. “It’s 7:15a.m. Damn, it took that long to find something to wear. Crap. Eh, I think I have enough time to eat something quick.” With that he grabbed his bag and went to the stairs case. As he was going down, he couldn’t shake off the feeling of be watched. He actually stopped and looked around him, but no one was there.
“Oh great, now I have to add being paranoid to my list of worries.” He muttered to himself as he resumed going down the stairs.
Danny was at the doorway of the kitchen when he heard the shouts of “DUCK!”. One didn’t live long or unhurt in the Fenton household if you didn’t listen to the random shouts. He dropped his bag and fell to the floor. As he ducked down, Danny manages to see what was flying at him. The Boooooo-a-rang. It flew out of sight. Danny began to stand when he thought it was safe. As soon as he was up. POW! Something had just hit him on the back of the head causing Danny to see stars as he was fell face forward onto the kitchen’s hard wooden floor.
“Danny! Are you alright?” Jazz asked as she went over to help him up.
“Great, as if I didn’t already have a headache before.” He muttered to himself as Jazz helped him up. She gave him an encouraging smile as she went back to the stove to continue cooking breakfast. Danny looked around on the floor and found the Boooooo-a-rang lying nearby. He picked it up and went over to the table where his parents were. His mother was sitting at the table looking at his father. His father, who was kneeling on the floor, shaking his fist and looking upwards and yelling to the heavens or the ceiling in this case:
“WHY!? WON’T!? YOU!? WORK!?” He began to sob violently.
“Jack, honey, calm down. We’ll figure it out eventually. Danny, are you all right?” She looked at him as he sat at the table. He looked at his mother and said:
“Yea, I’m fine. This isn’t the first time I got hit by this thing. Here you go dad. I’m sure it will work eventually.” Danny looked over at Jazz. She was facing him when he said it and began to wear the ‘we-know-something-they-don’t-know’ smirk on her face. He gave her a small nod and smirked at her in reply. Both parents oblivious to what their children are smirking about, decided to change the subject.
“Danny, aren’t you going to eat something?” Jack, being back to normal, took the device from Danny and began to mess with it.
“Yes, Danny dear. You need eat something you’re too thin as it is. Are you alright? You look half dead.” Maddie said with a certain sparkle in her eye as she went into worry mode. *Funny, little does she know that I’m... I guess that... I’m... I’m half dead. Am I?... Great. Just great, another thing to add to the list.* Danny thought tiredly. *Oh no. Danny never thought about himself as being half dead has he? That’s why he looks a little depress and why his so quite now. Shit, if he keeps this up they’re gona start to worry or worse get more suspicious.* Jazz thought as she saw Danny looked depressed. He looked over to his sister in hope that she might be able to help him with the new topic of discussion, him.
“I’m fine mom, uh, I’m just, uh, tired. Yea, that’s right! I’m just tired that’s all.” He looked a little relived that he could make up a lie in time.
“You look like you’re still asleep.” His father said amused but, yet not looking up from the Boooooo-a-rang.
“Why are you so tired, honey?” Maddie asked. She eyed him suspiciously, as if she knew that he was lying to them but she couldn't figure out what about. She did tried to hid her suspicion but not well enough. Danny’s eyes widen with a bit of worry in them, it was too early for his brain to function fully to make up another lie so quickly. Danny looked at Jazz with a look that said ‘Help me! I don’t know what to do!’ Jazz quickly answered the look.
“He- he was...studying late, last night. Right, Danny?” Jazz asked for conformation on the lie she made up.
“Oh, yeah. I was studying. I have a test later to day so... I needed to study...for it...?” The last part of the sentence sounded more like a question than a comment.
“How does Jazz know you were studying late last night?” Their mother asked, now watching them both carefully and forgetting to hide her suspicion.
“Be- because, I- I was helping him study for it.” Jazz said quickly and add a fake yawn. Danny looked at his sister with grateful eyes but couldn’t help thinking she said that too fast. He turned his gaze towards his mother and saw that she looked as if she were about to argue with them when Jack suddenly yelped. Everyone had turned towards him to see what had happened. The Boooooo-a-rang had shocked him.
“Ummm... so what’s for breakfast? I’m starving.” Danny, grateful for the sudden distraction from Jack, had asked in hopes of changing the subject.
“French Toast and scrambled eggs. Jazz is making it, since the last incident, when your father was cooking. And she won’t let me cook since I made the “frank-instien” hotdogs.” His mother replied. The gaze that she held on him as she spoke was a bit unnerving, causing him to twitch slightly in his seat in front of her.
“Oh, yeah. How are those guys doing anyway? Last time I saw them, Dad had let them out and when Jazz started to yell at Dad. They had tried to attack Jazz to defend Dad.” Danny said with a small smile on his lips. Jazz glared at her brother for a moment then continued to cook.
“Oh, the boys are chilling out in the frigid. I swear I should take them ghost hunting with me. Maybe they’ll attack the ghost kid and help me bring him down!” his father said with blissful look on his face as if he was imaging it and then continued to tinker with the Boooooo-a-rang.
Danny just started at his father with a look of shock, he couldn’t believe that his father could be that sadistic. Then he grimace as he taught of all those little razor sharp teeth tear into his ghostly fleshly, he shook his head to rid himself of it before he could visualize his thoughts. *I better make friends with them in both forms, so they won’t attack me if he does bring them to go ghost hunting.*
He had suddenly involuntary shudder, he felt someone watching him. Without actually looking like he was looking at anything in particular he was able to scan the room unnoticed. Mostly unnoticed, he found it a bit unnerving that his mother was watching him but had tried to hide it from him and the others. But he had noticed it anyway. After all, having ghost powers and being hunted so much made him very aware of his surroundings and the people in them, also very careful as well. He soon became lost in deep taught. *How long has she been starting at me? And how long will she keep doing that? It’s staring to get annoying as well as dangerous. What if she figures out what and who I am? What will she do to me? Man, it’s too early to be thinking this hard with a pounding headache.* As he continued to think he began to stare at nothing but the table in front of him, blocking out everything around him. And that’s when he felt it.
It wasn’t really a pain sensation, more like a twitch somewhere in his body, but it felt strange, anyway he wasn’t really paying attention to it. What the young halfa was really paying attention to was the feeling of being watched. No, it wasn’t just his mother, that didn’t really bothered him anymore, it was the same feeling had earlier. It stayed with the young one a moment longer then disappeared.
Danny shivered a little, it seemed to him that the being that was watching Danny, knew Danny had felt its surveillance and wanted to show him that it could observe him all day if it had wanted to. Also, show Danny that it could let him know it was watching him or not. *No, it just my imagination. Yea, that’s it. Yea... At least I hope... No, I’m just freaking out cause my mom might know my secret. That’s all... yea.* Danny knew that’s not what his instincts were telling him. They were telling him that he was lying to himself, but he won’t admit it not even in his own mind.Denial is such a great thing. The ghost child continued to ponder until he felt a sudden shot of pain come from the sore area of his head, as something collided had into it.
“Ow! What fu...” Danny began then he remembered that his parents were there and had finished the sentence with a different word. “Fu- fudge!”
“Danny what’s wrong!? And what were you about to say?” his mother asked worriedly and yet sternly.
“Yea, Danny what’s wrong?” Jazz asked. She looked concern but the look of mischievous light in her eyes said different.
“It’s nothing. Ah, it was just my headache acting up that’s all.” Giving his sister a look of ‘I’ll-get-you-back-just-wait-and-see’.
“Hey, Danny are you going to eat that?” Jack asked drooling a bit as he looked hungrily at Danny’s plate of food in front of him while putting more food on his own plate.
“Eat what?” Danny looking down and now finally seeing the plate of food before
him. “Yeah, I going to eat that! Why didn’t anyone tell me the food was ready?” he whined before he started shoveling food into his mouth in lighting speed.
“Well we’ve been telling you that for the last five minutes, but someone was in la-la land. Welcome back Danny, now eat up or we are going to be late for school.”
"Oh, right." Danny had began to scarf down his food, after a while he noticed that Maddie was still looking at him. That only made him eat faster. As it was even though he started last he was finish with his meal first. Getting up to put away the dirty dish in the sink, Danny began to walk towards the door, still feeling her eyes on him.
"Hey Jazz, I'll meet you by the car when you're done." With that he picked up his bag, from where it was laying when he ducked earlier, off the floor and left the room without looking back. He didn't want to look back because he knows he'll see narrowed violet eyes looking straight at him. Trying to figure out all his secrets.
