Chapter 2: Starlight Meeting
As Katara dressed, she felt that someone was nearby watching her. “ Maybe it’s just a bird… or Momo,” she said finally tying her tribal necklace on tightly making sure that it wouldn't fall off again.
Zuko slowly snuck away from the rocks making sure he stayed silent; a soft breeze played across his blush stained cheeks, using his skills that he reserved only for his counterpart.
Making his way over to Katara, he stood before her; luckily, for the scarred prince being taller than the water tribe girl gave him a slight advantage to the girl.
“ I’m not here to fight you, I was looking to get some water and I heard something is all” the firebender remarked walking closer to the young waterbender.
Katara just stood there in the semi-darkness the light from the moon just enough to see everything around her. Before she could stop her self she asked, “ Is your uncle alright?”
The question caught the wanted prince off guard for a moment. “ He’s fine” he answered curtly stopping just feet from Katara.
“ If you’re going to be rude than I’ll just leave, I was trying to be nice is all even though you chased us off today when we were only trying to help” she huffed and started to walk away.
Zuko grabbed Katara’s hand and spun her around so she was looking at him “ wait… it’s just your question caught me off guard is all, I didn’t mean to snap like that. I wanted to thank you is all for worrying about my uncle and with my sister.” He said kicking himself mentally that he had sunk this low in his who life as to thank an enemy.
If I act like I really mean it then I can get closer to the avatar.. It’s his fault that uncle was hurt.. and this girl can help even without her knowledge.. Zuko thought.
“ Um your welcome, I hope your uncle gets better” Katara remarked softly and looked down at her hand that Zuko was holding still “ you can let go of my hand now” she said blushing slightly.
Zuko quickly released her hand “I should be going back to my uncle now.”
The prince was glad that where they were standing the moon’s silver rays couldn’t find them behind the shade of the trees.
Katara backed up slowly; stepping on some rocks she lost her balance, closing her eyes getting ready to hit the ground a strong hand caught her holding her in mid fall. His open palm pressed against her back didn’t shake at all from the weight it was holding.
The waterbender’s heart was pounding in her chest she wondered if Zuko could hear it due to their proximity.
Opening her eyes slowly, she met Zuko’s gold eyes and felt her cheeks heat up. “ Your name is Katara right,” he asked softly making her so nervous that she could only nod her head.
She could smell the faint scent of smoke and wood spice coming from the teen prince.
“ Well then Katara you should be careful heading back to camp, my sister’s men could be all around this area. Azula will be looking for you in the air; you should avoid flying for a few days. ” Zuko said giving a false soft angelic smile before moving away into the darkness of the woods, returning to his uncle who was waiting in the hut for him. I just have to gain her trust.. it should be easier then taming a wild hog monkey.. Zuko thought as a cold smirk graced his lips.

Katara stood in silence near her element; she went over everything that had just happened to her. Meeting her enemy the way she did, walking back to camp she was greeted by a woken Toph.
“ What are you doing up Sugar Queen?” the blind earthbender asked leaning against her rock tent. “ Your heart was beating so hard I could you sense you when you stepped away from the river. So, what got you so nervous?”
The female waterbender just stood there her heartbeat returning to normal. “ I thought I heard something and I though it could be those girls again.” Katara lied as she climbed back into her sleeping bag.
Toph smirked I can tell your lying… I bet you’ll tell when your ready to talk. Toph thought going back into her earth tent.

As the clearing emptied, the bushes began to rustle. Ty Lee stepped out and began to laugh.
“ Azula will love to hear about this.” She remarked skipping back to the fire princess’s campsite.
When she arrived, everyone was already asleep, accepting the fact that Azula would want to kill her for waking her she took the chance and made her way over to the princess sleeping on the small mat by the embers still glowing in the pit.
Ty Lee began to shake Azula hoping that she wasn’t in a killing mood at that moment.
“Azula… wake up I have news of Zuko” the young girl called out to save her life.
Azula sat up the death glare turning interested in a matter of seconds “ you have my attention, now tell me what news you have before I changed my mind in killing you” the princess remarked creating a ball of flames in her hand.

“ I was taking a walk since I couldn’t sleep and I heard voices so I followed them. He was by the river talking to the female water bender, He was being really nice to her and even caught her when she tripped on some rocks” Ty Lee said waiting to see if Azula was interested in her information.
The female firebender smirked “ It seems Zuzu might have a weakness other than uncle. Ty Lee I want you to leave me now, I have to think this over” Azula ordered, she watched Ty Lee leave an evil smirk play across her lips. Poor Zuzu you have no idea what fate you have signed that girl to… Tomorrow we’re going to set my newest plan into action…She thought lying back on her mat.
