It has been almost a year since Freakshow was defeated and the ghost zone returned to normal. Everything in the ghost zone returned to normal and ghosts outbreak started to decrease dramatically. However, not everyone was happy.

In the corner of Amityville, in Fenton workshop to be exact. A lonely young boy stood by his window against the frame. He has been doing it for almost a year without stopping as if waiting for someone to return to his side.

Danny Fenton was extremely unhappy. Since the day Ember disappeared from his life, Danny has stopped going to the school. The only friends he has left are Tucker and Sam and no one else. Even Tucker and Sam were unable to cheer Danny up.

The only thing that would cheer Danny and change his future was Ember McLain, the current ruler of ghost zone.

Danny has tried to enter the ghost zone to search for Ember. However, his search always ended in vain. He never found his long gone boyfriend.

“Ember… Where are you… ?” Danny turned around and sits down. He leaned against the wall under the window before pulling his knees to his chest. “Why do you leave me… ?” He whispered to himself as he rested his head into his knees.

Danny’s mind flew back to the moment he met Ember as a weak Halfa a year ago. He remembered his first sex with Ember, which was meant to punish him for stealing the money to build the ghost portal. Those entire memories made Danny smile, and sad at the same time.

Suddenly, a rock wrapped in paper landed in front of Danny. He squeaked and immediately looked outside. No one was there. Curiously, he unwrap the rock and found a neat handwriting behind the paper.

After almost a year, Danny Fenton made a pure happy smile for the first time. “Danny… I’m sorry that I left you without warning. But I’m sure Sam was smart enough to explain what was happened… I don’t know what else to write, Danny. I missed you so much. I’ll be waiting for you in the park this afternoon. Your one and only love, Ember McLain”

“He… He’s back… YAY !!” Danny leaped in delight. He looked at the alarm clock on his desk and realized that Ember wanted to meet him now. Without wasting any time, Danny transformed into ghost mode and fly as fast as he could toward the park.

Sure enough, Ember was there, waiting for him. There was something different about him, though. He was wearing a simple golden tiara on his forehead. However, Danny wasn’t concerned about it.

“EMBER !!!” Danny cried and launched himself to hug his long gone boyfriend with all of his might just after he landed.

“D... Danny…” Tear streamed down on Ember’s eyes as he hugged Danny with all of his might as well. He really missed Danny and will trade anything to be together with him again.

“Ember… Please, don’t go…”Danny was crying in Ember’s chest.

“I’m sorry, Danny… After we defeat that Freakshow, I have to become the ruler of the ghost zone until the end of my existence…”

“What ?!” Danny’s eyes bulged in horror.

“Yes… Even now, I can only go to this world for just half an hour. I can’t remain in this world for long…” Ember broke the hug and turned around. “I just… Want to say… Goodbye…” He bites down on his lips.

“NO !... Take me with you, then !” Danny wrapped his arms around Ember’s waist.

“I can’t… You’re a human, I’m a ghost…”

“I’m also a Halfa !”.

“Half human… You must be a full ghost to come with me…”

“Then I will be one !”

Silence followed after. Ember turned around to face Danny again. The two stared each other. It was clear that Danny won’t budge and will do everything to be together with his boyfriend again.

“You are aware that by becoming a ghost, you will cease to exist as human, Danny…”

“I do and I don’t care…”.

“In that case, call everyone here… Sam, Tucker and Jaz…”.

“EMBER !” Sam squealed as she arrived in the park and saw her long gone friend.

“Man, where have you been ?” Tucker’s lips twitched as he tried his best not to cry.

“Welcome back, Ember” Jaz smiled. Danny has told her about his relationship with Ember. Even though she never met Ember in person, she knew that the ghostly boy in front of her must be Ember McLain.

“Actually… I called you here to say goodbye… I won’t be coming back” Ember intoned softly. Danny on the other hand produced the red crystal ball and summoned his old friend, the Grim Reaper.

“Hello, young Daniel… I know why you called me…” Grim said grimly.

“Yes…” Danny fell into his knee, facing away from the Grim Reaper. “Reap me when you ready…”.

“Danny… NO !” Jaz paled and immediately put herself between Danny and Grim.

“Sorry, Jaz… I have to… My place is with Ember…”.

“No, Danny, please don’t…” Jaz broke into tears. She tried to reason with Danny even though she knew that her brother is very stubborn and hard headed.

“Jaz… You always want me to be happy, right ?”.

Jaz nodded in reply.

“Then let me be with Ember… Please…”

“…” Jaz looked away before pulling herself up. “I… I understand, Danny…”

“Say my goodbye and regards for mum and dad okay ?” Danny smiled.

“Goodbye, Danny… You will always in our heart…” Tucker and Sam hugged Danny tightly as this is going to be their final moment together.

“Goodbye Tucker Folley… Samantha Manson…” Danny smiled as he used their full name for the first and the last time.

“Right… Are you ready, Daniel ?” Grim raised his scythe.

“…” Danny nodded and shuts his eyes tightly. Most people would be scared to death at the moment like this. However, Danny was different. He was happy as he’s about to be together with his boyfriend again.

Grim’s scythe glowed angry red as the owner raised it high. “Rest in peace, Daniel Fenton… And live on, Danny Phantom !” With that, he swung the scythe down, driving the blade toward Danny’s neck. The scythe ended Danny’s life quickly without any pain.

A thunder broke out as Grim’s scythe reaped Danny’s soul. Danny fell down lifelessly to the ground, followed by massive cry from Jaz and Sam. Tucker just looked down. He didn’t dare to watch his best friend’s body.

Slowly, Danny Phantom separated from Danny Fenton’s body. “Wow… So this is how it feels like to be dead…”.

“Danny ?” Jaz and Sam looked up at Danny Phantom.

“…” Danny nodded in reply.

“It’s time to go, Danny…” Ember took Danny’s hand.

“Yeah… Let’s go, Em…” Danny tilted his head sideways, smiling at Ember. After almost a year, the two lovers finally kissed each other again. As their lips met, a silver tiara, similar to Ember’s golden tiara appeared on Danny’s forehead. “Hey, what’s this thing ?” Danny frowned.

“Silver tiara… That mean you’re my queen… ehm… well, boy-queen now” Ember can’t help but to giggle.

“Heh… Not bad” Danny grinned and turned his attention toward his friends. “Goodbye Sam, Tuck, Jaz… We will meet again… Someday…”.

Slowly, Ember and Danny levitated themselves higher followed by Grim Reaper until they disappeared from sight.

“Danny…I hope you’re happy…” Sam whispered as she looked down on Danny Fenton’s lifeless dead body.

“Mum…. Dad… Danny’s gone…”

“WHAT ?!”

“He has gone to… Ember’s side…”

“No… Daniel…. DANNY !!!”.

“See, Danny I told you its kinda funny to watch your own funeral”.

“Yeah, Em, I see your point now…”.

“Wow… Dash actually came…And so does Vlad…”

“Heh… At least they don’t call me Inviso-Bill anymore…”

“Here lies Daniel Fenton, whose deed will never be forgotten by the grateful residents of Amityville as the famous Danny Phantom…. Heh… Cheesy”.

“Ember… I like that title !”

“I know you do, Danny”.
