Chapter 16- Crystal Clear
”Why not you, Bolin?” asked Irulan, stroking his pulse point, her shrug nonchalant. “That’s the question you need to ask more often. You are worthy of someone loving you…for everything you are…you brickhead, you.” Irulan was surprisingly calm and pleasant, despite wanting so badly to kick Bolin in the nuts for giving away her flowers. Spending more time with him would indeed be cathartic; she’d make him “pay” in other, creative ways.
Moved by her sentiment, and relived by her composure, Bolin smiled graciously in return, his face the color of spilled over fireflakes. The soft, tickling sensations of her fingertips grazing against his pulse point gave him goosebumps, almost making him jump from the chills up his spine. In the current situation, his heart didn’t feel as heavy or nearly as broken. It felt renewed.
”You really are gorgeous, Irulan,” he breathed fondly, playing with each of her long, slender fingers. “I’ve always loved your skintone and your hair,” he confessed, feeling a bit warm.
”Likewise,” she returned with the same valor. “And I like …ALL…your bodyparts, even the ones I can’t see…yet.”
”Oh my, blunt much?” Bolin replied, trying to hide his shock, by raising a thick, dark brow “Did it just get a little warmer in here?” he added, waving himself with his free hand. “Where's an Airbender when you need one?”
Irulan’s confidence and candor were refreshing…even surprising. Her brutal honesty, one of her best traits, had unknowingly restored his faith in females...as fickle and indecisive as they seemed.
”So umm…Irulan…is there somewhere we can go…discuss your feelings more?” he alluded with a playful wink, placing a kiss on her fingertips. His heart was racing at the speed of light; his soul beaming with a ray of hope. Irulan had spoken a great game, and he was excited to see how well she’d play it.
Shrugging, Irulan pressed her lips together into a smirk. She wanted to explode into a fit of giggles, but knew it would result in an orbit of flying silverware all over the diner. Her electromagnetic aura was propelled by the strength of her emotions, causing her to be more controlled with her reactions, than normal people. She had learned a technique of breathing that allowed for her exciting to rise, than wane, without the polarity of her field getting out of whack.
”Yeah, Bolin, in fact I know of a perfect little sanctuary,” she answered enthusiastically, staring at their entwined hands, her metal bands, suddenly binding her and Bolin together.
