Ring while he waited patiently for mommy, his whole attitude had changed in the last two days, since his first two teeth had finally broken through.

“Up you get little man.” Ron picked his son up and whirled him around, making airplane sounds.

“Looks like we’re ready to go.” Ron nodded as they left the house, and Kim locked the door. Unseen above them, hovering on silent rotors, a tiny observation drone zoomed in on the child seated in the car seat.”Target acquired, tracking locked, following target.” Silently the tiny drone followed the Stoppables car as the silver Porsche made its way up State street, the drone began transmitting location data to the black van parked on the edge of Middleton.

Monique stood in the brides’ area of the church, her nerves were shot, she trembled and stared out the window, trying to calm herself down by watching cars pass on the highway. Ron pulled up the long driveway and parked in front of the house, Kim unbelted Reuben and grabbed his bag, checking it for bottles and slipping the Fluffoo DVD in the front pocket she ran up and met Shego at the door.”Bottles are in the side pocket,Fluffooo DVD in the front pocket, thanks again Shego, this means a lot to us.” “Hey you owe me one now, maybe next time Drew wants to go out by ourselves I’ll give you a call.” “Sounds great, would love to have your cuties over for a bit, anyway we have to run, bad guys ain’t gonna catch themselves, chow!”

Shego plugged in the DVD and her daughters and Reuben sat spellbound as a silly elephant puppet went through all kinds of antics and told children about brushing their teeth and saying please and thank you and just explaining everything about having good manners,and Shego even sat and watched the musical parts,the tunes were all pretty catchy and happy. An hour later as she made grilled cheese sandwiches for the children’s lunch, She heard the distinct sound of some kind of vehicle landing close by.

Shego leaned over the counter and tapped the two-way intercom to the greenhouse,” Drew hun, it sounds like we may have some uninvited guest incoming, Kim and Ron dropped off their little boy for me to watch but I am having a bad feeling, what they saw was a diversion,we might have some incoming serious trouble, gonna grab my suit and suit up!”

Drew Lipsky turned to the intercom listening to his wife’s nervous chatter and reached into a nearby cabinet.”Roger that hunnykins, let’s go meet whoever it is and introduce them to a good thrashing.”
Drew Lipsky had been a mediocre evil scientist, back in the day, but after his small accident, he discovered he had some very strange powers over plants.”Now then let’s see how this new variety of strangle vine works against the home invasion!”

“Lock and load!” Drew cocked the firing mechanism on his new strangle vine launcher, and pulled his goggles down,” Now then let’s go thrash some home invaders shall we!” A minute later Drew kicked open the door and ran across the yard on an intercept course for the far side of the house, just as he ran across the yard Shego dove out of their upstairs bedroom window and skated across the roof, her hands aglow in green plasma.”Oh, my someones in for an absolute ass bashing it seems, you haven’t been this angry in a long time, dear, why so steamed?” Shego laughed and shouted back.”These assholes think they can just land in our yard, invade our privacy, and I think they have plans on kidnapping little Reuben, not on my watch!”

“Ohhh, I love it when you get all fired up hunnykins, please don’t hurt them too badly, I wanna show them just how nasty I can be when they come to disturb my work!” Shego dove off the roof and joined Drew as they made the turn around the side of the house six goons all dressed in black were

From the Zeppelin, Shego heard a gravelly voice exclaim.”Shadowmen one through six dispose of this rubbish and bring me the golden monkey child!” Inside, Katie and Sadie ran to the window they heard mommy’s angry voice and she was saying bad words at some strange men coming up the walkway.”Ohh look mommy and daddy are both chasing those strange men away, those must be bad people.” Katie quipped. Sadie nodded and turned to help Reuben up on a chair, “See them people outside Reuben, my mommy and daddy are trying to chase them away, they must be bad people.

Reuben James Stoppable starred out as the black-clad men approached the house, something deep inside him suddenly came to the surface and as the two girls watched his whole body began to glow with a bright golden light. Katie giggled in delight pointing.”Look Reuben is like us, he must be stooper powered too!”

Calmly with utter silence, Reuben opened the window and climbed out onto the porch, the evil bad men were being thoroughly beaten to a pulp by Sadie and Katie’s mommy, and daddy but he could sense the darkness coming from the landed Zeppelin, a darkness that called to the Primal light that was a part of him now, the golden monkey power needed to stop this evil darkness, and through Reuben its new avatar it was about to be fully unleashed for the first time in centuries.

The man known only as Viper, sensed the golden power coming closer, he crept out of the zeppelins dark entrance and strode to meet the new avatar of the golden monkey.”So I see you have at last escaped the dark prison we threw you into seven centuries ago oh champion of the golden power, well let me help you back to that prison!” The man known as Viper drew a black glowing katana, and came for Reuben.

“You bad!” were Reubens words, as the man came forward his blade slicing the air in front of him, Shego turned it was all like some slow-motion film. She tried to reach Reuben but an amazing thing happened. The child began to glow with bright golden light, his eyes turned to golden glowing stars in his head and the approaching figure was blasted back into the parked zeppelin, from a blast of such intense power she threw her hand across her eyes to block out the flash, a second blast was unleashed by the child sending a beam slicing into the zeppelin and sending it hurtling away like a burst balloon with a gas-powered roar of sound.

Reuben collapsed to the ground, Shego finally reached the boy and scooped him up in her arms running him back into the house. She was met at the door by her two wide-eyed daughters.”Is Reuben gonna be ok mommy?” “Dear gods I hope so,I don’t want to have to deal with his mommy or daddy when they come back to get him.” Setting Reuben down on the entry hall chair she turned to see Drew finishing cleaning up the goons on the front lawn.”Ok, girls, you take care of Reuben mommy is gonna call the police, be right back sweetys.”

Ten minutes later three police cars arrived at the Griffin Drive address to be confronted by a silly scene. The home invaders were all trussed up in some sticky, grasping vines like tightly wrapped packages ready for the paddy wagon that arrived shortly after them.”Yes officer my wife and I are somewhat celebrities, I am guessing these men might have been trying to kidnap our children, perhaps for ransom or maybe something much more nefarious, yes I shall come down to the station and file formal charges,why yes I am Dr Drew Lipsky yes oh your mother saw my latest talk show on feed the world,yes these men might have something to do with some foreign power as well maybe they were after me, I don’t really know, I shall be down directly thank you for your quick response officers.” Drew waved as the police departed.

Drew Lipsky reentered his home to see his wife frantically starring at the small boy slumped in the hall chair.”Drew we may have to call an ambulance, Reuben isn’t coming out of whatever he just did
To that man that came out of the Zeppelin.” “I didn’t catch anything but a bit of a bright flash that I thought was you dealing with that last rogue, are you telling me this little tike here actually caused that flash?”

“I don’t know what it was, but golden energy of some kind came out of him, struck that man, and sent him flying back into the zeppelin, then he did it again, and that zeppelin took off like a toy balloon that’s been popped by an angry child.”Drew looked down at the tike and shook his head.”Well if he doesn’t wake soon, we’ll call an ambulance.” “Well its time for lunch anyway, the grilled cheese sandwiches are done, let’s have some lunch and if after lunch Reuben still hasn’t recovered were gonna call.”

Reuben could hear Sadie and Katie’s mommy and daddy talking but he was just so tired, his eyes felt heavy, and the pretty gold light in his head said he should rest a little more but he should be ok in a few minutes. Reuben finally opened his eyes and got down out of the chair, he was so hungry, and the smell coming from the kitchen was so good, he pushed open the door and four heads turned to look at him all at once.”Looky mommy, Reubens awake!” Katie shouted. Shego got up and went to the little boy.”Are you ok now Reuben, do I need to call your mommy and daddy?”Reuben shook his head no, and reached for a cheese sandwich on a plate.”Is ok?” He asked politely.”Sure thing, that ones all for you little man, but I am still trying to figure out what I am gonna tell your mommy and daddy when they come back to get you.” Reuben looked at Sadie and Katie’s mommy and smiled.”K.”

Ten minutes after they left Reuben at Shego and Drew’s place. Ron pulled into their driveway. “ok meet you back here in five, then its mission go time!” Kim nodded and they both sprang from the car
To get dressed in their mission gear. Five minutes on the dot they both exited the house.”Who’s driving?” “I think it’s my turn you got to fly the last mission remember?” “Yep ok, I am dialing Ferguson, and get the latest update on our black van.” “Roger that, kiss for luck.” Ron leaned into his wife and kissed her deeply, for a long while now it had been a mission good luck charm, and made a mission shine just a little brighter.

“Ferguson says we can stand down, seems they have already apprehended the black van creeps turns out that bunch of dumb asses, had been paid to follow us around then try to spook us back there, the local police have been called but they want us to come down and identify the van just to make sure and give them a statement for the cops.””Ron, I don’t like this, if those creeps were only meant to scare us then who paid them to do it, something definitely stinks, I wanna question those idiots, and find out more about whoever it was paid them to do this.”

“Yeah, I think there’s more going on here then Ferguson thinks, and why would they try so hard to catch us only to tell GJ they were only trying to spook us, that’s a pile of crap, if I hadn’t hit pursuit mode, they would have overtaken us, and we might have had a bad day with Reuben in the car.”

Twenty minutes later Kim pulled up to a scene of destruction, GJ agents lay on the ground in bloody pools, one agents head had been removed entirely, cleanly severed from his neck by an extremely sharp weapon. Ron starred out at the scene of carnage and began dialing,” Calling in code Blue, agents down at this location send a cleanup team everyone here is dead, yes a total team wipe, all 6 agents down, looks like they were surprised and got taken unawares, hold on my wifes flagging me to something.”

Kim gagged and vomited, the bodies of several local police officers had been mutilated and dumped like garbage off the side of the road only a hundred feet away from the massacre site of the GJ officers.”Ron, it looks like whoever killed the investigation team killed these policemen first then used
Their uniforms may be to surprise our guys, whoever did this was sick, why did they mutilate these poor police officers, that’s just so disgusting.”

“Hey look over there, that looks like clothing, yep sure is local police uniforms tossed out I bet after they killed our guys, and they booked it.””Ron all of these men died for no reason, why did they kill all of the GJ team, and I can see using the uniforms of the local police for disguise but why kill the officers to obtain those disguises, whoever is behind this act is a sick and depraved individual, and I am gonna make sure they go away for life!”

“You and me both babe, whose gonna tell Fergusons, new wife, she’s now a widow, they only got married last month we even had a pool to see how long before he became a daddy.”Ron glared down at the tarmac and kicked a rock out of the road.”This tanks so much, these creeps are gonna pay so hard, anyhow we need to wait for the cleanup team and fill out all those reports, let’s head back to the car, or else I’m gonna be sick too.”

“Central, we found more evidence on the scene, waiting for the cleanup team to get here then we’ll be in to make our reports, someones gonna have to tell Fergusons wife he was KIA, yeah I know, I know we’ll be in once cleanup gets here, Stoppable out.” Ron laid the mic down and sat beside Kim next to the Porshe as they waited.”Central says cleanup team will be here in another twenty, you gonna be ok hun?”

“Yeah, I guess, but I just want to get Reuben, and go back home and just forget all about this ugly business were in, when did it turn from saving the world to watching people lose their lives in useless
Violence?” “Don’t know K, but somehow seems the stakes have risen and the bad guys are getting way more brutal.” Ron glanced around at the carnage again and swallowed hard.”Yeah, way more brutal.”
