Chapter 1: A New Hope Has Awakened.
7, October 2027 AD, 22:15 (Earth's Time)

Unknown part of the Galaxy
Imperial Dreadnought hyper jumped to the system and slowly moved to a blue planet where nothing is but one big ocean and infinite heavy rains. Then Royal shuttle fled from the Star Destroyer's Hangar and went to Planet's orbit.
"Command Station. This is ST-3242: code clearance "Blue" Pilot says.
Pilot pushes a button to send information about their shuttle "We are starting our approach. Please deactivate Orbit Defense system."
Planet "CUT FACET 672145XCE"
"Orbit Defense System will be deactivated when we will have the confirmation of your code transmission, Stand by. One of the Command station personals says as he activated the orbit's scanners.
The terminal then shows a 3d model of Lambda-class T-4a shuttle. It scans everything from engine to the cockpit. Then the model flashes in green. "You are clear to proceed," Command station says trough radio.
"We are starting our approach" Pilot accelerates shuttle's speed and entered orbit. Soon after they entered the orbit of Ocean Planet: to controlA heavy rain greeted them.
Meanwhile, Inside the Command Center. The Overseer of this planet who responsible for controlling this planet entered the command station. All personal of Command Station greeted him by Imperial way, by pressing their hands on their chest to show their service to new Empire.
"Sir? One of our ships is entered our orbit." Says one of station's personal.
"Which one?" Overseer narrowed his eyes as he feels a little bit suspicious.
"The royal one..." He replies again.
Overseer clears his throat "Then inform the entire facility that our lord's shuttle has arrived."
"Sir" One of the nodded and began to work again.
All possible soldiers made their line to greet their Empire leader. Overseer approached to shuttle landing platform with caution as one single mistake can cost his Gemstone's condition. He is sweating nervously knowing Carnelian's personality. He doesn't tolerate failures.
His thoughts were interrupted by shuttle noises began to get closer and closer. The shuttle itself appeared from the storm for and landed on the platform.
Then the shuttle's boarding ramp lowers and two royal guards left the shuttle first to make sure this place is secure. They moved to their positions and stopped. Then Overseer hears the sounds of armored boots clanking noise,
Then Emperor himself of Homeworld exited from the shuttle. He is still wearing his old mask and hood with a cape to hide his identity. But he is now wearing a lower battle coat which covers his legs and lower torso.
Carnelian looks left and right before approaching to Overseer directly. "Emperor Carnelian himself...It's an honor to see you in this small water world." Overseer bowed his head
"My visit is hardly an honor, Overseer. You promised me that Steven Universe will be ready by this week." Carnelian harshly says to him. He then leans his face to overseer "I hope that you taught him a meaning of word "respect" for past ten years, Overseer."
The Overseer of this Planet starts sweating under his own mask. "Y-yes, my lord. We tried anything to make his life worse, and I promise that we have results." Overseer lied as Steven's will is strong for them to break it.
Carnelian moves his masked face away from him "Then I want to see him...and if you lying, then you will immediately be shattered."
Overseer cleared his throat again "Y-yes m-my lord." He stuttered before he weakly gestured his leader to follow him inside the facility. They entered main lobby and proceed to facility sectors.
"My lord...can I ask you a question?" Overseer stops to ask something serious.
"Try, Overseer" Carnelian stops too.
"I understand to keep Yellow Diamond in here, but why a human?"
"Because he is only can to lead us to rebels. I know that Rebel Alliance will trust him...because he is my daughter's son." Carnelian replies harshly
"I understand your decision, my lord. But I also read a report about Rubie's class situation. Why replacing them with Gemdler class? The Rubies were good fighters-"
Carnelian interrupts him "Because Gemdlers proved to Empire that they are more capable and more emotionless than Ruby class. They are true warriors rather than some square hair midgets. I want to see a fear on faces of our enemies. I don't care if you don't like it, it's my decision."
"But-" Overseer tried to protest about Rubies's abilities
"Don't make me shout at you, Overseer" Carnelian interrupts him "You're lucky that I practicing my anger management!"
"I understand, my lord." Overseer bows his head a little bit, showing his respect.
They reached to the elevator that leads to the main prisoner cell. Empire built this special cell to keep a human in the worst condition as possible.
Overseer pushed a button and lift doors opened for them. They casually entered the lift, then the doors closed and the elevator started moving up to main cell location. 30 seconds passed and lift stopped moving, then doors opened and they left the elevator.
Carnelian double speeds his walk and approached to the big metallic door which two Elite Quartz guards guarding it.
"Open the doors." Carnelian orders
"Are you sure, my lord?" One of Elite Quartz asks him.
Carnelian death-glares at her, showing that he isn't joking around. With response: the two guards pulled their ID cards and inserted them into the reader card.
The system read the cards and confirmed the access "Access confirmed." The voice of AI says.
Then the big metallic door slowly opens for them. Carnelian steps forward to the cell. He sees how is grandson is lying on the bed and staring at the ceiling.
Carnelian crossed his arms. "You're...You are alive."
"How...how long this time?" He sounds like he doesn't care
"Ten years in isolation..." He grins "Impressive."
"Ten...years" He quietly mumbled to himself, imagining what he misses as he got up from his bed and walked up to the electric field.
"Yes, Many interesting events happens while you absent. But still for human...10 years is impossible to survive." Sounds like Carnelian grinned under his mask.
Steven smirked too; he then turned his back to Carnelian, glaring at the way. "What can I say...?"
He slowly turned his head to him, having a grin on his face "The power of Rose Quartz is strong in me." Steven grins
Emperor Carnelian smirks "I doubt that."
Carnelian then turned to one of Elite Guards. "Deactivate electric field."
"Yes my lord." Then one the guards used the card again and deactivated the field itself. Steven slowly leaves his cell and glared at Overseer with an angry face.
"Don't even think about to attack me. This facility contains a generator that doesn't allow you or anybody to summoned their weapons or abilities." Overseer replies confidently
"No, I just imagined your face when I throw to you to the deepest place in this ocean and let Lapis Lazuli rip you apart." Steven threatened him
Overseer freaks out by human's aggressiveness "My lord? You can't just close your eyes and ignored that."
"At least, he has guts to tell you that, Overseer. Not smart but respectful at least. Now to your station."
"But-"
"You heard me, Overseer Now to your station! that's an order."
"*sigh* Yes my lord." Then Overseer left to command center, leaving Carnelian and Steven alone in private.
"So Steven..." Carnelian turns around to Steven's direction "I noticed that you grow up beard. I'm glad that you are hitting puberty."
Steven touched his ratty beard after Carnelian said that. "I'm 28 years old. I'm officially adult human, Carnelian." He said with angry tone.
Emperor Carnelian rolled his eyes due to Steven's threats "Look, I know that you still angry that I turn your life even worse. But face it; you knew that someday it will come-"
"Come?" for ten years, I could help my people to defeat Yellow Diamond. But nooo: another gem comes to me and ruins my entire life!"
Carnelian chuckled evilly "Young fool. You thought that Yellow Diamond would come to Earth and will have fun with you and Crystal Gems" He leans his masked face to him "She even can't kill the butterfly. She was the weakest Diamond in the entire history of Diamond Authorities. I'm the one who is a real threat to you: I'm the one who destroyed the Crystal Gems and the Diamond Authority together."
Carnelian moves his face away from him "It's your fault. If you accepted my offer, you could have your freedom, you could found Malachite and you could even become a Diamond. Then you could marry to White or Yellow Diamond. Have kids and tell them your stories...
Carnelian then removes his mask. He makes a weak but a rare a happy smile "I could be a happy person again if I saw you as Diamond."
He laid his hand on Steven's shoulder "I could teach you my knowledge of the powers. You could even become a new heir. Once I will find a solution to fix my mortality, you can lead my people to a new peak. Imagine: "Supreme Emperor Silicon" as your title.
"I will never be a tyrant to Gems" Steven slapped his hand away from his shoulder.
"You see me as Tyrant?" Carnelian asks with disappointment on his face.
"Yes," Steven coldly says.
"If you saw Homeworld right know, you would change your mind. Steven"
Steven sigh "Look, Carnelian. Why are you always against me and others? Why are you like that to everyone?"
"Then Tell me. When your daughter kills your wife and threatens to overthrow you. What will you do?
Steven awkwardly scratches his back "I...do not know"
"I had only choice: I killed her" It shattered my personality as doctors said to me, Steven. I spend my time with people who are just bland and one-sided. Both Cato and Redstone are emotionless commanders. Only one is good and another one is bad. My advisor is always afraid of me.
"You know, I sometimes compare myself from being 12 and 19. I can't see myself as that young Steven. I became a serious and dedicated person. Maybe I'm just out of character.
Carnelian smirk "We all out of character people, Steven. Our personality can change easily. Take an example of your Peridot. She changed a lot since the day she returned to Homeworld. She looks a lot more a "sane" person compared before her mission to Earth. She has a human culture in her."
"Peridot?" Steven perked up when he heard her name "Is she all right?"
"She does. As far I know. She mentions a lot about you. She knows that you rotting here."
"Can I see her, please?"
"Not for me to decide, Steven. Ask the overseer. He has the complete power over here.
Steven whimpered in disappointment, knowing that Overseer won't let him see his favorite Dorito.
Carnelian put his mask on again. He mumbled something under his mask. He then points his gloved finger to the big square room. "To the training room prisoner, now!" Carnelian hisses.
"Fine...Jeez, Carnelian."
Carnelian smiled by the attitude that Steven is giving to him. He is glad that one day Steven could become a good leader...or will listen to him.
Steven walked to the center of the training room. He obverse the surrounding for a moment. He turned around to Carnelian who is holding one sword and strange pistol.
"It's yours." He hands him the equipment.
"What do I need this?" Steven asks him while he didn't grab it
"You are going to show your fighting skills," Carnelian explains.
Steven grabbed his equipment from Carnelians hands.
"And don't fail me, my grandson"
Then he proceeds to the exit, leaving Steven alone. Steven examined his weapon. It has very good design and made some kind of black material.
"Testing...testing...one, two, three. Alright," Says loud speaker "Looks like everything works well."
He pauses "Now, Steven. Let me introduce myself. I'm professor Relon: Ahead of Homeworld anatomical institute. My work is to study behavior and anatomy of our race. Due to fact that the fusion is forbidden in our society and "Sexual encounter" is allowed. My work is quite famous.
Steven giggles. "Oh, I get it, Carnelian. You become a respected because you allowed Gems to fuck each other. I guess The Homeworld has strip-clubs with Pearls and Peridots... am' I right?
"Very funny, Grandson"
Carnelian turned off the loud speaker. "Do we have strip clubs?" Carnelian asks everyone like he doesn't know.
The Professor smirks "Of course not, my lord. What's the point of strip clubs?
"Well...it could an income for us. We could make pearls as-..."
He thinks of it. He cringed because of his strange thoughts. "Never mind, I don't want the Homeworld internet to become a creepy place."
Carnelian sighs in relief. He then turns on loudspeaker again to let Relon speak.
"Now, Steven. We are going to test your skills. These tests will help you fighting a new generation of Gemirians. The first one is very simple; you are going to fight with the droids with the melee weapon."
Then the doors opened on every corner and appeared droids from every corner. They shapeshifted into common Gemirian Troopers. They all start charging to Steven. Steven on other hand didn't get nervous instead he stands in defensive stance. They one by one attacked Steven but he easily counterattacked them...
2 minutes later
Steven finally cut the last shapeshifted droid. The pieces of it fell on the floor with rest pieces of others droids.
Relon checks the reports "Hmm, Not bad. Now we have another test. As you can see, for ten years, The Empire upgraded arsenal and included that every Gemirian soldier would have a fire weapon. That means you will encounter rebels who will shoot instead to attack you. This is where our second test begins..."
Then a group of shapeshifted droids appeared out nowhere with rifles and pistols and starts shooting Steven. Steven quickly ran to the cover.
"You got to be kidding." He mumbled.
Then he reminds himself that he has a Gemirian pistol. He quickly reloaded with crystal ammo and start shooting droids.
While Steven doing his job. Relon checked the status of implants on Steven's body.
"Are you sure that this implants will not let Steven to fuse?" Carnelian approached to Relon
"Yes my lord. If he will try, Implants will damage his bones" Relon shows him a picture of Steven insides.
"Good then. We need to make sure that Fusions will be no more. This drug is the reason for Gems suffering.
Another shooting moment...
Steven feels exhausted as he shot down the last droid.
"Are we done? I'm seriously tired." He pants every word.
Inside the Observe room
The professor is impressed by results.
"My lord, this unbelievable! With this, he could defeat the entire army of rebels...or even the whole Empire. His skills are on the same level as Diamond class Gems."
"No, he is not ready! You forgot the most important thing for humans, professor"
"Which is?" Professor asks him
"Friendship and love." Carnelian says calmly "These two things will ruin his mission. And I want to know that he will kill his friends if necessary."
"But how?"
Carnelian grinned evilly "You will see."
Training room
"Just another test, Steven," Professor says through his loudspeaker.
"Fine then."
Then another six droids appeared from the doors.
"I already defeated them. Is this some kind of joke?"
"No Steven, This one will be...special."
Then this droids shape shifts into his old friends.
"Oh no." he exclaimed as he watched how fake Peridot, Lapis, Pearl, Amethyst, and Garnet are giving him angry face while their weapons are ready to strike him.
"Kill your friends," Carnelian grins
"I-I can't...they are my friends."
"No! You are not my friend! You turned my life into living hell, you piece of clod!" Fake Peridot cry out
"Rose Quartz died because of you! You ruined my only love!" Fake Pearl screamed at him.
"I should kill you during your childhood! You brought the only destruction to Earth...and you stole my Doritos!" Fake Amethyst hisses.
"You let me suffer from Jasper. Thanks a lot, dickhead." Lapis insulted him
Fake Garnet didn't say something. She still keeps her gauntlets in check.
"All of you are just machines. The real ones won't tell me this stuff." Steven prepares his weapon.
"Because, you won't see them. You will pay for your crimes against us!"
Then Fake Peridot punched him right straight to his jaw with her limb enchanter. Steven flew few meters away and hit his head.
"That hurts" Carnelian emotionally comments
He then fell on the floor. Fake Peridot slowly walked to Steven while having an evil laugh. "Already defeated? Too bad, I was about to enjoy breaking you in pieces."
Steven laughed as he slowly got up on his feet. "Break me Huh? To tell you a truth, Peridot...It's me who will break your green ass back to Homeworld!"
Then Steven hit her head with his elbow and pierced his sword into Peridot's chest. Her lifeless body fell on the floor and shapeshifted back to droid. The others fake ones shocked and made in defensive stance.
"Impressive huh?" Fake Crystal Gems didn't attack him "Come on! Everyone can taste this hybrid's meat" He taunted them.
"Attack him!" Fake Lapis orders.
Then they all charges at him expect fake Lapis. Steven slammed fake Pearl into the wall, breaking her nose. Amethyst tried to attack him but he grabbed her hair and lifts her up.
"Let me, go" She fights back
"As you wish, Amy."
Then he sliced her neck and tossed her to another side of the training room. Fake Amethyst turns into the droid.
Then Pearl lunged at him and successfully pinned him down. She then grabbed his neck and squeezed it so that he can't breathe. "Why can't you just die already?" Fake Pearl squeezes his neck harder and harder.
"Because" He tries to grab his sword "I'm" He manages to grab the grip "Steven Universe" He pierces her chest.
She lifelessly let go of his neck and Steven kicked her out from him. He got up and examines the room to see a Fake Garnet standing in defensive stance.
"You killed them...but you won't kill me" Garnet mocks
Steven rolled his eyes. He then pulled out his pistol and casually shot her. Fake Garnet fell on the floor and turned into the droid. "Ladies and Gentleman...Crystal Gems in out of the character. God save my tale" Steven comments about strange behavior.
His words made Carnelian shiver "I sense a disturbance in this Galaxy" He whispers.
Then Steven directs his attention to fake Lapis. She evilly grinned at him when he turned around to her. She creates her ice form wrist blade on her right hand.
"Oh! Now you can create ice? You're so out of the character, Lapis"
"Why he always says that?" Professor asks Carnelian.
Carnelian shrugs his shoulder in response as he doesn't know why.
Back again in Training room, Lapis growled by Steven's mocking
"It's over, Lapis. I have the high ground of this fight" Steven taunts her.
"You underestimate my power! I can easily wash you from this planet" Fake Lapis hissed.
"You can't...Because you are not a real one Lapis. The real one would always be with me, you're just a droid."
With that, The Fake Lapis charged to him to deal with that human for the final time. Steven clashed his sword against her ice blade but she managed to cut his left cheek with her blade.
Lapis tried to attack again but Steven dodged her attack and tried to attack from behind, Lapis makes 360 turn and about to swing when Steven blocked her attack and bitch-slapped her with that much strength he has. She lost her grasp and Steven take an advantage over that.
Steven swung and he cut her left leg. The fake Lapis fell on the floor, screaming in pain.
Steven slowly approached to her while holding his sword in any check. Fake Lapis tried to crawl away but can't as it's too hard for her. She covered her face and began to sob.
"Good...good Steven. Now strike her down." Carnelian entered Training room.
"Just kill me already, you worm! But remember...the real one will never...NEVER love you back for what you did to me!" Fake Lapis cry out in pain, sobbing more
Steven aimed his sword at her...but then dropped it in front of her. Carnelian widened his eyes when he did this.
"I don't care if she won't love me back. As long she is my friend, I'm okay with that...and besides, she deserves a better a person than me...Like, Jamie. He is a lot better than me in personality."
Fake Lapis scowls "Pffff, please...Nobody can you love because of your pathetic age. Connie will die because of you...and so others."
Steven widened his eyes. This droid somehow knows about Connie. "How-?"
"ENOU- I mean enough!" Carnelian nearly shouted again.
They both watched how he furiously pulled out his dark sword "Strike her down, grandson! NOW!" Carnelian snarls
"No! I will not! I'm tired of this bloodshed!" Steven exclaimed back at his grandfather.
"Then let me show you how it needs to be done!"
Then he approached to Fake Lapis and cuts her in pieces. Luckily it turned to droid before Steven could see a chop down Fake Lapis lying on the floor.
Once Carnelian did. He approached Steven "As I feared. You can't kill your friends..."
"And what are you going to do about it?" Steven taunts him.
Then He could feel how someone hit him with the butt of the rifle. He fell on the floor and passed out on.
10 Minutes Later
Steven opened his eyes again, feeling bad headache. He noticed that he is in his old cell again. Carnelian is also standing outside the cell.
"What a shame." Carnelian laid his hand on his hips "You could track down the rebels...we could spend together as Grandfather and Grandson on Homeworld. But no...You always follow your mother steps. The personality of Rose Quartz is strong with you."
"What are trying to say?" Steven asks him
"From this day and forward. You will never see the sunlight. I won't come back after I will capture the Milky Way. I gave you more than three times to prove that you're on my side...and you ignored them...what a shame."
Steven can see how a small tear comes down from his eye and disappeared. He is really disappointed in him.
"My lord? Should we close the metallic door in any case?" Elite Guard asks him.
"No, no needed for that."
"As you wish, Carnelian."
Then Carnelian proceeds to exist but stopped. "I wished that Rose Quart never had an ignorant child like you. That's the only reason why Earth wouldn't be owned by my Empire" And after that, he left the floor.
Steven sat on the bed to think about the situation. It becomes even more complicated (I need to escape this cell. I can't be here, knowing that Carnelian will try to conquer the Galaxy)
He looked at the Electric Field again. Steven reminded himself that he can bypass these fields. So he tried to use his old trick. He placed a hand to electric field but instead he gets a small dose of electricity to his hand.
"Oh yeah, we upgraded our cells. Now you can't pass so easily this time, human." The Elite Guard comments.
"Good for you." Steven snarls as he holding his hand.
Then Steven tried to come up with the better plan. He noticed an electric box which responsible for keeping electric fields and lights in cells.
(And how am going to reach for this?) Steven thinks in his mind
("Use your Gemstone. It will help you during your destiny.") Familiar voice said to him
(Mother?)
Steven didn't get the answer. But then he got an idea since he mentioned. Steven remembered how Carnelian managed to control Blue Diamond. If is true, then you always can try...
"You will deactivate the electric field." Steven orders to Elite Guard.
"What did you just say to me?" Elite Guard turns around
"I said that you will deactivate the electric field!"
"How about I will break your neck instead!?"
Steven closed his eyes and concentrate on him. "You will deactivate the electric field and allow me to leave the cell."
Elite Guard touches his helmet "I-I... I will deactivate the electric field and allow you to leave the cell." He said in slave tone.
Then He slowly slides his card to the cell card reader and an electric field is deactivated. "Now knock yourself out"
"I will knock myself out" He complies. Then Elite Guard grabbed his blaster and hit his head three times. With last one, he fell on the floor and passed out. Steven checked his pockets for anything valuable. He found a tablet note. Steven reads it.
"Attention to any personal who is serving this facility.
"Today, The Empire sent a small shuttle to this planet in case of evacuation or something like that."
"The shuttle will remain in DBAY 24 until the new orders will arrive"
"I repeat: No one can use this shuttle for a personal goal."
"P.S I will give a key-card to Elite Guards until tomorrow."
Signed by Overseer of Planet "CUT FACE 672145"
Then Steven checks the other pockets for anything until he found a key-card for escape shuttle.
"Jackpot!" He examines the key-card "I guess it the only choice to escape this planet."
He then grabbed Gemirian Pistol from Guard's holster. "Now...It will very hard to deal with rest of Gemirians on this facility."
