The days following his fall into sin with his four sisters were some of the best Lincoln’s had even the year he was dating Ronnie Anne couldn’t compare to this everything was perfect. He spent the remaining four days before their parents came home drinking in all he could of his four sisters’ and the debauchery they were committing, but as they say all good things had to come to an end eventually. Lincoln sat in the driver’s seat of Vanzilla with Lori in the passenger seat as they waited in the airport parking lot waiting for their parent’s to return from their weak long trip. They’d left the others at home there was no way they were going to let their younger siblings loose on this innocent airport.
Lincoln occupied his time reading Manga on his phone, or at least tried to when Lori was giving off disgruntled noises every few minutes. It had been going on for so long he could practically time them. 3…2…1. *Sigh*. Lincoln put down his phone and looked to Lori. “Alright Lori what is it? You’ve been sighing more than Lucy for the past half hour.” Lori looked sidelong at him before looking down at her feet. “The time we’ve spent together Lincoln has been better than anything and now it’s all going to come to an end you’re going to be going to college and I… Look I don’t want you to go I know it’s selfish, but look we can all just leave home together and be happy somewhere nobody knows us and we won’t have to hide our love.”
Lincoln sighed he knew this was coming, but he wasn’t sure who it would come from. Lincoln leaned over kissing Lori into silence. “I love you too Lori I love all of you, but you know that won’t work. None of us have jobs we’d be homeless, and as much as I love all of you I won’t let our selfishness get in the way of our futures. There will come a time when all five of us can be happy, but that’s not today or even tomorrow.” He said holding her hand as he looked back out of the windshield. Lori smiled sadly and sighed. “Yeah I guess you’re right.” She whispered before scanning the crowd. “There go mom and dad let’s go.” She said wiping unshed tears from her face as they got out of Vanzilla to meet their mother and father.
Lincoln spent the remaining two days before college bonding with his parents and youngest sisters. He and his dad went to car dealer and went halves on a used 2004 Acura TSX. They spent the rest of the day bonding driving around town in the new car. The two stopped at a diner going in and ordering a couple burgers. “So this is it son the day after tomorrow you’ll be your own man making decisions for yourself that will impact the rest of your life.” Lincoln gulped at his dad’s words. Lynn Sr. sighed shaking his head. “Sorry son I know that was a little Lynntense!” His dad making a pun to lighten the mood. “But don’t stress Son College is built for making mistakes. I made my sure, but some of those mistakes led me to meeting your mother, and an even bigger mistake led to having you.” His dad chuckled and Lincoln smiled.
“What I’m trying to say Lincoln is that you must do what’s right for you, but also stand firm and accept the consequences after the fact. I know you’ll be tempted to just run wild up there all the pretty girls no adult supervision and all that, but don’t forget you’re there to learn alright. Fun is fun, but you education is the most important thing.” Lincoln nodded absorbing his father’s sage advice drinking in this moment because he wouldn’t have him there when he went to college. “Now I don’t want you to just keep your nose to the grindstone either or else you’ll burn yourself out, what I’m trying to say Lincoln is keep your balance and let everything else fall where it may.” It was at this moment that their burgers were placed in front of them. “Now then let’s see who can finish their burger first!” His dad shouted grabbing his sandwich with both hands and taking a massive bite out of it watching ketchup and mustard fall out the back of it. Lincoln laughed as he joined his dad in the race.
All too soon tomorrow dawned on Lincoln Loud as he spent the day packing running back and forth from his room to his new car as his sister’s helped or hindered in some way. He caught the twins taking his bags back to his room more than once trying to delay his leaving. Lynn helped seeing moving his heavy luggage as the perfect workout. His eldest sisters helped in their own way. Luna played some “moving music” while Luan cracked college jokes. His mother, Lori, and Leni were in the kitchen whipping him up several care packages, because College food wasn’t good enough for their special man. Lincoln blushed as he shouldered the numerous Tupperware containers to the car. He sighed in relief closing the door as he looked at his family gathered on the lawn. “Well guys this is it.” He said bashfully rubbing the nape of his neck in embarrassment.
Both Lola and Lana rushed up to him holding onto his legs like the most adorable ankle weights in the world. “Lincoln don’t leave, who’s going to help me with my pageants?!” Lola shouted squeezing his left leg tightly. “And who’s going to help me unclog the toilet and fix Vanzilla and weld things, and , and…!?” Lincoln sighed kneeling down to the twins’ level looking them both in their eyes. “Lola I really enjoyed helping you with your pageants and I know you’ll be an even bigger Pageant Powerhouse than Gil Delily ever was. I’m sure Leni will help you out with your pageants after all she’s the fashion Guru of the Loud House.” He said kissing Lola’s forehead and winking at Leni who blushed and nodded. “And Lana come on we both know Dad’s always around to help with any fixer, upper around the house. He won’t let you down.” Lincoln said blowing a raspberry against Lana’s neck causing a giggle fit before letting them go back to the family.
Lynn bit her lip trying to keep from crying. “Who’s going to play ball with me now?” Lynn asked sniffing as Lucy added. “And listen to my poems?” Lincoln smiled. “Don’t worry guys the good thing about living with a family as big as ours is that there’s always somewhere there for you, and it’s not like I’m going to leave forever I’ll be back for Christmas.” He said hugging the two to his chest
Lincoln stood up gently nudging the two back to their family. “Ash much ash I commend your initiative in purshuing a higher education Lincoln ish it not posshible to delay your departure for a mere five minutesh more?” Lincoln smiled tousling Lisa’s unkempt brown hair. “Sorry Lis you know I can’t do that if I stay five minutes more you’ll come up with some genius solution as to why I should stay ten minutes more or an hour. I just can’t risk that.” He said smiling down at Lisa. “But I can give you all a group hug before I go!
He shouted flinging his arms wide to which the whole family piled in. During the hug he felt something slipped into his back pocket and Lori’s lips against his ear whispering. “I’ll text you something nice later.” Lincoln pulled back from the hug smiling as he headed to his car started her up and drove off his family receding from the rearview mirror. Lincoln arrived at his new dorm right on time and proceeded to move himself in. He sat on his bed after having unpacked the last box and fell back against the now clothed mattress and released a sigh of exhaustion before noticing what was in his back pocket.
He pulled it out finding a CD player and a small book after opening the CD player he found a CD with Luna’s handwriting on it. “Sweet Jams for my love” It read. Setting it down lovingly he pulled out the small booklet seeing Luan’s handwriting on this. “Mad Libs for my muse”. Lincoln blushed as he heard the door opening. Lincoln sat up, coming face to face with an African American guy about the same age as Lincoln. The guy was carrying several boxes stacked on top of the other and wobbling. Lincoln got up taking a few boxes in his hands getting to see the guy’s face. He noticed he had dreadlocks down past his shoulders and rocking a goatee. “Thanks man I was sure I would bust my ass sooner or later.”
Lincoln smiled setting the boxes down on the empty bunk. “No problem. I’m Lincoln by the way Lincoln Loud.” Lincoln said holding out his hand. “OH I’m Abraham Arken.” He said setting the box down and shaking Lincoln’s hand. Lincoln chuckled at that. “Abraham and Lincoln how crazy is that?” Lincoln said to which Abraham joined in. “Looks like someone played a cosmic joke on us.” Lincoln heard his phone go off as he pulled his hand back to reach for it. He opened his messages seeing a text from Lori. “I miss you already here’s something to keep me on your mind.” Lincoln scrolled down finding a picture of Lori nude on his bed her legs spread wide. As he stared open mouthed at the picture a new text arrived. “Cum home soon.”
Who’s that your girlfriend?” Abraham asked as he returned with another few boxes. Lincoln jumped stuffing his phone in his pocket. “Uhh yeah you could say that. We’re just setting up something for Christmas break is all.” Abraham nodded. “That’s cool well man here’s to a good semester.” Abraham said tossing Lincoln a soda. Lincoln smiled cracking the top open. “Yeah to a good semester.” He stated clinking his can to Abraham’s.
