Chapter 11
“Buttercup, you are one insane chic,” said Junior shaking his head as their party of seven, now nine because of Helga and her friend, walked out of the astrodome.
“Yeah BC, I can’t believe you climbed on stage! What if he kicked you off or something?” added Helga trying hard not to laugh.
Buttercup simply shrugged, “But he didn’t and besides, I got an autograph so it wasn’t completely futile.”
“Wow Buttercup, I think that was totally awesome. Can I wear your shirt?” gushed Bubbles as she tried to get a good look at the autograph.
“Bubbles, please, don’t encourage her,” sighed Blossom, shaking her head in disappointment. “You’re just going to make her do something just as reckless again.”
“Come on Blos we all know you’re just jealous,” said Buttercup goading Blossom.
“What do you mean jealous? Please Buttercup, if I wanted to be wild I would be,” defended Blossom completely taking the bait.
“Ha, Blossom you have a snowball’s chance in hell of being wild,” giggled Bubbles getting into the taunt.
“What?” complained Blossom. She looked at the rest of their party and watched as they all nodded solemnly.
Junior smiled a little, “Don’t worry Blossom you have the perfect chance to prove you can be wild when we get to the party.”
Blossom shook her head, “Oh no, it would take more than a few words to get me to be wild at a party, and a Rowdyruff’s party at that.”
Buttercup clucked her tongue and hopped into the passenger seat of Mandy’s car. “This is exactly what we’re talking about Blossom, you can never be wild,” she grinned as she closed the argument sealing her victory.
“Yes being wild is taking chances even though you know they might result in something catastrophic,” explained Phoebe stopping next to the car.
Blossom shrugged. “Fine then I can’t be wild,” she knew it was a lost battle from the start but she could never take a comment like that sitting down.
Everyone laughed at Blossom’s admission. Mandy simply shook her head and retrieved her keys from her pocket. They knew it took a lot for Blossom to do that. Mandy walked round to the driver’s side and got in.
“There’s no need to get all happy about it!” complained Blossom as she too hopped into the car. “Now, let’s go to this party thing before I change my mind.”
Helga nodded, “Yeah, we better get going. I’ll see you guys over there, okay?”
“Sure,” replied Mandy starting her engine. It was the first comment she’d made since the start of the concert.
Junior, Bubbles, Irwin, and Billy quickly piled into the back with Blossom before Mandy drove off without them. Once they were all seated Mandy backed up out of her parking space then swiveled round. They all gave one last wave to Helga and Phoebe then Mandy slammed down on the accelerator and sped out of the lot.

Butch hated concerts but he loved the after parties. He was at the bar and was fixing a drink when the front door swung open. He watched in shock as the Powerpuffs walked in with Mandy, Billy, Irwin, and Junior.
Butch stared at Buttercup as she looked around. He wasn’t sure what she was looking for but as long as she kept turning at different intervals he didn’t mind much. Her constant swiveling provided him with different vantage points from which to scope her out.
Butch and his brothers were at the concert but they had been pretty far back. They hadn’t wanted to get stuck in human traffic when the concert was over. Close to the end, Butch had watched as some girl that had been really close to the stage flew on and tackled the lead singer.
Butch remembered thinking that it was probably Buttercup and had been shocked when he found out it really was her. She had jumped on because she wanted an autograph but didn’t have a backstage pass to go see them after the concert. As security had approached her, the singer dude had laughed and told them it was cool. Buttercup spent the rest of the concert on stage and at the end the guy had signed her tank top.
Butch thought the dude gave her something else but he was far away and wasn’t using his super vision so he couldn’t be sure.
Buttercup was still looking around. Butch turned back to the drink he was fixing and handed it to the guy waiting for it. The guy was dressed in a black wife beater and black baggy jeans. His hair was styled in a way that allowed three long strands to stand on end.
The guy took a sip of his drink and Butch turned away. As he stole another glance at Buttercup the dude spoke, “Isn’t that the chic that climbed on stage at the concert?”
Butch turned to him. “Yeah, it is. Why’d you ask?” he replied tentatively.
“Oh, no reason, I was just curious.” The guy tossed back the rest of his drink and got up from his seat. He signaled for another guy in a crew cut to follow him and Butch watched as they made their way towards the Powerpuffs. He didn’t think this bode very well.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Buttercup turned to Blossom. “I don’t see any of them.”
Blossom nodded. “Me neither, do you think they aren’t here?”
“Nah, no way, they’re here,” said Junior. Then he smiled when he saw the bar and the appointed bar tender. “See, there’s Butch over there.”
Junior swiftly left their sides and headed over to the bar and Butch. Billy and Irwin decided to use this chance to get away and they ran into the fray of bodies dancing in the living room. Mandy shook her head and looked at the Powerpuffs. Obviously, she was going to be the one that would have to deal with them and their high morals.
“So, now what?” she asked them already sounding bored.
Buttercup opened her mouth to make a comment when she heard someone squeal.
Buttercup, Blossom, Bubbles, and Mandy turned towards the sound. Tootie and Suzy stood staring and pointing at Buttercup like she was some sort of movie star.
“Oh my god! You were the girl that climbed on stage!” gushed Tootie.
“I didn’t know it was you, you go to our school! You’re in our class!” added Suzy squealing.
“Oh, I have got to get a picture with you,” exclaimed Tootie grabbing her camera from her purse while dropping the purse and lunging for Buttercup.
Buttercup ducked and was completely surprised when she didn’t feel the expected weight of someone tackling her. She looked up and saw that the girl had been caught in mid air by a tall guy with a crew cut.
Buttercup blinked at him and he smiled stupidly at her. From behind the crew cut guy, another guy that was shorter but not too short with three strands of hair standing wayward on his head showed up and he smirked.
“If you want a picture with her you gotta pay up,” the shorter guy said to Tootie.
Tootie scowled down at him. “You can’t charge me, Eddy. She hasn’t even agreed to any arrangement.”
Eddy merely shrugged. “Like I care what she agrees to, now pay or I’ll tell lunk head here to shove your camera up your ass.”
Suzy stepped forward. “Oh please Eddy, get a life. Now get out of our way.”
Eddy smiled evilly, “You heard the ladies; you know what to do, lumpy.”
Ed’s stupid smile seemed to grow, “Yes I do Eddy!”
Ed lifted Tootie high in his arms and Tootie thrashed in his grasp. She was not going to let them bully her so easily. Ed frowned at Tootie’s struggling. She was just making his job harder.
Suzy screamed from the ground. “Put her down now, Ed.”
Ed didn’t listen. He turned Tootie upside down and shook her a bit causing her to wobble like a leaf in the wind. Ed laughed as her glasses fell off her face.
Tootie held her head as she felt the blood rush down to her brain. ‘I’m going to have one killer headache once this is over.’
Eddy was cracking up behind Ed and he smirked at Suzy.
“If you want him to stop you know what to do,” Eddy smiled gleefully holding out his hand.
Suzy scowled at Eddy and growled, “Over my dead body Eddy.”
Eddy scowled back clenching his hand into a fist. “Fine, Ed, spin her around,” he twirled his hand around to demonstrate what he wanted.
“Sure thing Eddy,” said Ed in response happy he got to do the spin cycle. He loved the dizzy feeling he got after.
Tootie screamed. She knew she was so going to puke if Ed spun her around while she was still upside down. Suzy growled at Eddy and lunged for his jugular. Eddy ducked and tried to get away but Blossom grabbed unto his shirt. She had had enough of this nonsense.
Bubbles flew and extricated Tootie from Ed’s grasp before he could spin her while Buttercup reared her hand back for a punch. Someone caught her hand. Buttercup growled and turned. She was slightly taken aback when she saw Butch. He looked irritated and had her hand in a firm grip. She also noticed that Boomer had caught Suzy and stopped her from attacking Eddy.
A guy with a black sock hat that had two white stripes and wearing a red shirt stepped into the middle of their fray. He looked angrily at Ed then focused his glare on Eddy.
“You should know better, Eddy,” chastised the boy. “This is a party where we are all supposed to put our differences aside and try to get along and that means no scamming. It also means no roughing people up for money.” He crossed his arms.
Eddy scowled and tugged his shirt out of Blossom’s grasp. “Geez Double D I was just having a little fun! I wouldn’t have let Ed do anything to her that would have hurt her.”
Edd didn’t look convinced. He humphed and looked away. Brick then walked into the middle and looked at everyone standing there. He looked mildly annoyed. He raised his voice so he could be heard by everyone. “Listen up; there will be no fights in our house and during our party. If you do then we’re gonna kick your ass out of here. Got it?”
Everyone that was close to the circle and in the circle nodded. Butch let go of Buttercup’s hand, Bubbles dropped Tootie on her feet, and Boomer let go of Suzy.
Brick looked at Eddy, “And seriously Eddy, no scamming during this party. Don’t try this type of shit again, ok?”
“Yeah, sure, ok,” Eddy looked away.
Silence fell among everyone as the tension slowly faded away. Suddenly Junior climbed on the bar and yelled. “Well now that that’s over, let’s get this fucking party started!” He shook a beer can and popped the tab causing beer to squirt over anyone close to the bar.
Everyone cheered. Boomer swiftly disappeared into the living room and soon the music started playing again. People once again began to move to the music as others called for drinks at the bar. Junior was serving while Butch was absent.
“I take it Boomer is the DJ for this thing,” stated Blossom trying to ebb the tension still present among their little group.
“Yeap, he is,” answered Brick. He looked Blossom over, ‘Nice,’ then met her eyes. “I like your outfit.”
Blossom fought down a blush. She looked at her sisters swiftly before facing Brick again. “Excuse me?” She asked. She had heard him fine but she wasn’t sure if she should answer or if he was just up to no good.
“I said I like your outfit. It’s supposed to be a compliment. You know like an admiring comment,” said Brick looking amused.
Blossom frowned, changing her balance and crossing her arms. “I know what a compliment is!”
“Hey no need to get defensive I was just having fun.”
“I am not being defensive.”
Butch rolled his eyes and made his way back to the bar. He had no idea what Brick was up to and he didn’t really want to find out.
Buttercup decided to leave Blossom and Brick too. Whatever Brick had up his sleeves Buttercup was sure Blossom could handle it. So she grabbed Bubbles and Mandy and dragged them into the fray of jostling bodies on the dance floor.
Ed shrugged and moved away to find his fun somewhere else. Edd scowled once more at Eddy and disappeared into the living room as well. Eddy growled under his breath and quickly followed Edd. He hated it when Edd gave him that look.
Blossom watched in growing terror as she was left alone with Brick. Brick simply smiled at her like he didn’t notice the sudden privacy they’d been given. “Yes, you are being defensive,” he persisted.
She scowled, “No, I’m not.”
“Yes you are. Your body language completely gives you away. First, you frowned, then you changed the balance on your feet to give your right leg more leverage, and then you crossed your arms. That’s a defensive position. Crossing your arms indicates protecting yourself or discomfort. Your frown shows irritation and anger, and your position shows distrust.” Brick smirked as Blossom’s expression changed from irritation to shock.
Blossom blinked. “Since when did you get so observant?”
“Since, I found out that noticing things can be to one’s advantage in any situation.” Brick shoved his hands in his back pockets causing his hips to thrust forward. “I repeat my earlier comment. I like your outfit. It looks good on you.”
Blossom managed to smile. “Thank you,” she replied trying hard not to blush.
“You’re welcome,” quipped Brick then he nodded and walked away. He called over his shoulder, “Save me a dance ok?” then he disappeared among the sweaty bodies of dancers.
Blossom blushed this time. She looked away and stopped herself from saying “you bet.” She didn’t want him to think she was starting to soften up. The Powerpuff leader did not fraternize with enemies.
‘Yeah right, so what do you call what you just did?’ A part of her mind taunted her.
Blossom sighed. ‘I need a drink.’ She turned and made her way to the bar. She swore to herself that this would be the only alcohol she would drink that night.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Eddy struggled against the bodies as he followed Edd. ‘Why does he always have to be so fucking high and mighty? If he hates what I do so much then why the hell does he hang out with me? Why do I even care?’
Edd stepped out into the backyard and walked over to the pool. He knew Eddy was following him. Eddy would never let him just go after the look he gave him. Edd stopped once he was next to the pool and crossed his arms waiting for Eddy to say something.
“What did you look at me like that for?” attacked Eddy immediately he saw Edd had stopped.
Edd spun around and frowned at Eddy. “You know what I did that for Eddy. When are you going to grow up?”
“What’s that supposed to mean?” scowled Eddy.
“Eddy, you’ve been pulling scams since as far back as I can remember. You pulled a scam on me when I had just moved to the Cul de Sac. You’re eighteen years old now and everyone has a job or something but you’re still pulling scams.”
“Ugh, don’t lecture me Double D you’re not my fucking mother.” Eddy crossed his arms and looked away.
“Would you please refrain from cussing in my presence Eddy?” asked Edd politely.
“No I wouldn’t. And I do have a fucking job I just like scamming better.”
Edd frowned at Eddy’s choice of words then he sighed. “Well, can you at least restrain your scamming activities to the Cul de Sac?”
“How can I do that?” Eddy glowered at him. “I’ve scammed every single soul in the Cul de Sac at least a billion times! I need fresh meat. I can’t scam in school, I can’t even scam after school, so when the hell am I going to scam?”
“Find a different hobby then!” said Edd getting really exasperated.
“Why does it bother you so much? It never used to be an issue before,” countered Eddy. They’d had this conversation before and he really didn’t know what Edd’s problem was.
“It bothers me because I’m the one that always saves you when you get yourself in trouble. Remember the last time you pulled a scam? I had to pay your bail from jail. I don’t like doing that Eddy. You’re my best friend and I really care about you but I can’t keep saving you.”
Eddy stepped really close to Edd. He looked Edd in the eyes and reached up to place his hands on Edd’s cheek. “How much do you care for me Double D?”
Eddy leaned in bringing his lips close to Edd’s.
Edd panicked. He shoved Eddy’s hand off his cheek and backed away. He almost fell into the pool in his bid to escape but Eddy caught him and pulled him forward.
Edd found himself in Eddy’s arms again and he completely freaked. He grabbed Eddy by his shoulders and shoved him forcefully off his person. Eddy tumbled back and barely kept himself from falling on his butt. He looked up at Edd completely shocked by his reaction.
Edd stared at Eddy with a deadly look in his eyes. “Don’t you ever invade my space like that again, Eddy.”
Eddy was utterly confused. ‘Where did that come from? How did he do that? And why the hell is he looking at me like he wants to cut me open?’
“Edd I…” began Eddy.
“I don’t want to hear it!” yelling Edd cut him off. He wrapped his arms around himself and looked intently at Eddy. “Don’t do it again, do you understand me?”
Eddy nodded. ‘What the fuck’s up with him?’
Edd passed by him and walked back towards the party, he stopped. He turned back and looked at the floor. “I’m sorry I reacted like that. I was simply uncomfortable. Just, please Eddy, stop pulling scams.”
Eddy nodded again. “It’s ok Double D. I promise I’ll quit. I’ll find another hobby.”
Edd nodded, turned, and walked away. His back looked stiff like he was fighting down the urge to run.
Eddy watched as his friend disappeared into the house. ‘What are you hiding Double D? Why didn’t you let me touch you?’
Eddy smirked as he made his way back to the party. ‘Seems to me like, I already found my hobby.’
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
The party was in full swing and sunrise was slowly approaching. Some people had left before they got too wasted and others had crashed on the floor because they lacked the sense to stop before they were too far off.
Blossom had kept her promise of only one drink and she and her sisters were having a blast. They had each danced with lots of people including each other and other girls. It was fun. At the moment, Buttercup was forcing Mandy to dance with her and Bubbles was boogying with Helga, Phoebe, Cindy, and Libby.
Blossom wouldn’t admit it but she was waiting for Brick. He had passed by her on many occasions and had even complimented her dancing at some point. Now she and her sisters were getting ready to leave and were having their last dance but still Brick hadn’t shown up to dance with her.
Ok so she hadn’t told him yes, but she hadn’t told him no either. She felt foolish and horrible for actually wanting to dance with him but it couldn’t be helped. It was all she had been thinking about and until she danced with him and got it out of her system she wasn’t sure if she’d be happy.
“Are you leaving?”
Blossom looked up at the owner of the voice and nodded. “Yeah, we’ll be leaving soon.”
Brick nodded and looked over her head like he was thinking. He had stopped himself from dancing with her earlier because he wanted her to want to dance with him. He hadn’t been satisfied when she hadn’t given him any answer, so he had been holding off till she would actually want to dance. Now she was about to leave and she was still acting like she didn’t want to dance with him.
‘Why do I even care?’ Brick looked at her, “So, do you want to dance?
Blossom shrugged, “Sure why not, you did ask me to save you one.”
Brick smiled, “So, you saved me the last dance?”
“No, you just never came to claim your dance before now,” stated Blossom getting up.
Brick nodded. She had him there. No worries, he’d get her soon enough. He took her hand in his and led her unto the floor. The song changed to a slow number and Blossom groaned, sending a quick scowl in Boomer’s direction.
Brick laughed at her expression. He pulled her into his arms and held her hand with his left hand while positioning his right hand on the small of her waist.
“I swear I wouldn’t grope.”
Blossom flashed him a flirty smile. “You better not.”
Brick laughed again. “Are you flirting with me Blossom Utonium?”
Blossom giggled. “I am doing no such thing. A Powerpuff never flirts with a Rowdyruff I am merely being polite.”
Brick nodded like he believed her and kept dancing. He knew they were attracting attention but he didn’t care. It was kind of what he hoped would happen. Their dance was suddenly interrupted by a sudden thud.
Brick released Blossom and turned towards the sound. ‘What the hell now?’
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Zim was not having fun. In fact this could be described as the worst night in Zim’s life.
At the concert the Dib-beast had ignored him and danced with other stink beasts. Then they had come to this Rowdyruff party and once again the Dib-worm had abandoned him for other worm babies. Fine he admits, the Dib had asked him if he had wanted to dance and he had refused, but he hadn’t expected the Dib to abandon him and go dance with other people. Dib was his date after all! Didn’t the Dib understand what date meant?
Zim frowned once more and looked away. He tried steadfastly to ignore the jealousy and anger roaring through his system.
Dib was dancing with Tak and Gaz when he noticed Zim frown before he looked away. Dib wasn’t sure what Zim’s problem was but he sure as hell wanted to find out.
Zim had asked Dib to go to the concert with him as his date and all through the night Zim had been a complete stiff. He refused to dance, he refused to cheer, he refused to smile, and he even refused to get Dib a drink when Dib had asked. Dib had gotten frustrated and had acted like he wasn’t with Zim at all but like Zim was simply his chaperone.
Now the Irken had been sending him cold glares and frowns. What the hell did Zim want him to do?
Tak sensed Dib’s frustrated anger and Zim’s jealous rage. ‘That stupid Irken can’t do anything right! I’m going to have to solve this before Dib decides to never give Zim a chance.’
Tak swiftly excused herself and made her way to Zim’s side.
“Listen Zim, you have to dance with Dib,” she whispered forcefully in his earspot.
Zim scowled at Tak, “I know what I have to do… but I don’t know how to dance.”
“Then fake it,” she growled back. Her nerves were effectively on end. “I just need you to get out there and dance with your human before he decides to never give you a chance. I told you, your instincts would guide you.”
Zim still looked unconvinced. He looked out at the dance floor and Tak watched as his face scrunched into dangerous rage as he let out a feral growl.
Dib was dancing close with some earth female. His hands were cupping her bottom and her arms were pulling him tightly against her. She was leaning up to Dib’s neck, due to his height, and was about to place her lips on him.
Zim moved with Irken swiftness and was on the floor in seconds. He grabbed the girl and yanked her off Dib. He looked at her while still holding her wrist in a bone crushing grip.
She whimpered, cowering away from Zim’s menacing face.
“Don’t you dare put your lips on him… ever,” growled Zim threateningly. He let her go and grabbed Dib’s shirt. He dragged Dib back to the wall where he had positioned himself and slammed Dib against it.
“If you want me to dance, then I’ll dance,” said Zim looking at his feet. He stepped up close to Dib and slowly began to sloppily copy the grinding moves he had seen people perform that night.
Tak smiled that Zim was finally doing something and she made her way back to the dance floor in search of Gaz.
Dib was blushing crazily. He couldn’t believe that Zim had first threatened some chic and was now grinding, trying to grind, against him. It was funny, cute, and humiliating at the same time. Dib decided to make it easier for Zim and himself. He knew the Irken had no idea what he was doing so he decided to show him.
Dib placed his hands on Zim’s slender hips and slowly he began to rotate his hips as well. He used his hands on Zim’s hips to guide Zim’s motions. He felt the Irken stiffen up at first then slowly meld into the flow.
As Zim relaxed he reached up and wrapped his arms around Dib’s neck. He leaned into Dib for support as they grinded. Slowly, he buried his face in Dib’s shirt and inhaled the sweat mixed with the sweet scent of the human.
‘Great Irk, my human smells good.’ Zim smiled and tried to change the speed of their motion. This grinding thing felt really good.
Dib felt Zim’s desire for a change and he began to pick up the pace. Finally, they fell into a rhythm and Dib let go of Zim indicating that Zim should do the same which he reluctantly did. When they were loose Dib began to move more freely with less hip thrusts and Zim followed his movement.
Dib smiled. ‘Irkens have always been fast learners.’
They danced to two songs together and then Zim began to feel a different need. He understood jealousy, but the need Zim felt now was completely different. It felt nothing like he had experienced before.
The Dib was sweating even more now and they were still dancing close to the wall. Zim watched as the liquid dripped off the human’s body. He watched as Dib flipped his hair and twisted this way and that. Zim didn’t want to dance anymore, at least not from a distance. He wanted to hold the Dib like he had held him when Dib was showing him how to grind.
Zim’s fingers tingled with the need to touch Dib, to feel his glistening skin. Suddenly Zim heard the song slow down. Zim stopped his movement abruptly and watched as people began to dance close. Zim looked at Dib. He wanted to dance like that too but he wasn’t so sure if Dib would let him.
“Would you dance slowly with me Dib?” Zim asked uncertainly.
Dib smiled at the uncertainty in Zim’s eyes. ‘Since when, did Zim like slow dancing?’
“Sure, I’ll slow dance with you Zim.”
Dib reached out and took Zim’s hand. He pulled Zim towards him and wrapped his arms around the smaller Irken placing both hands in the small of Zim’s back while Zim reached up and wrapped his hands around his neck.
They began to move to the music with Zim looking up at Dib’s face the entire time. As Zim studied Dib, Dib used the opportunity to study Zim. Zim looked slightly darker to Dib, especially around his cheek area.
‘Hmm, I guess he’s blushing. He tends to do that a lot lately.’
Zim was mesmerized by Dib’s eyes. He had never noticed how golden the human’s eyes really were… especially when they weren’t behind glasses (Dib had on his contacts that night). Then there was the human’s hair. It was so spiky and untamable… with that long strand shaped like a scythe. Zim wanted to run his hands through that hair with its dark locks. Zim wondered if they were silky soft or spiky and painful like they looked. And then, there were those lips! Wow! Zim had never seen such perfect lips. They looked as soft as flower petals, and shone translucent pink.
‘I want those lips. I must taste them.’
Before Zim even had time to think deeper about his action he had pushed himself off the ground and connected with Dib’s lips causing Dib to fall back and hit the wall. The sound of his fall resonated in a resounding thud.
Dib blushed crazily as eyes were suddenly directed towards him and the green alien fused to his lips.
Dib’s shock overcame his embarrassment. ‘He’s kissing me! Invader Zim is kissing me! I’m kissing an ALIEN! My first kiss is with a fucking extraterrestrial!’
Dib felt Zim’s tongue on his lips trying to gain entrance and he knew he had to do something. The Irken was trying to deepen the kiss. HELL NO! Dib shoved Zim off forcefully, maybe too forcefully, and the Irken fell to the ground with the suddenness and violence of the movement landing heavily on his butt.
There was silence all around them though the music was still playing.
Zim looked up at Dib from the floor. Something had gone terribly wrong. Why was the Dib looking at him with such… disgust?
“WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU’RE DOING, ZIM?” yelled Dib.
“I… but… you are my date. Don’t humans kiss their dates?” asked Zim, confused. He could feel the eyes directed at him.
“NOT WHEN THEY’RE BOTH GUYS!” yelled Dib in reply. He knew that statement wasn’t true but, dammit, he wasn’t going to stand for this. He wasn’t gay! At least, he didn’t think he was gay… Dib’s expression faltered to uncertainty for a second but it quickly returned to one of disgust, anger, and disbelief.
Zim looked around at the faces. He couldn’t stand it. Some of them looked at him with disgust, others with fascination, and others still with shock. But the worst was the look on Dib’s face. Dib looked beyond disgusted; he looked like he was ready to vomit.
Zim felt hurt. He had never felt anything like it before. He really hated the need now. It had made him vulnerable, weak. It had made him susceptible to simple notions like acceptance, and he wanted his human to accept him.
Zim pushed himself off the ground and from his Pak, he extricated a laser gun. Everyone backed up, not quite sure what Zim planned to do. He aimed and fired at the wall directly behind Dib but Dib didn’t even flinch at its proximity. Zim leapt through the newly created hole in the wall and ran to his voot runner.
Dib saw the hurt in Zim’s eyes as Zim made his escape and he felt bad. In fact he felt horrible. He needed to apologize. No one deserved to be treated how he had just treated Zim, even if the thought of kissing an alien made him feel weird.
“ZIM!” he called running after the Irken. “Zim wait up!”
Zim heard Dib calling him but he wasn’t about to give the human another chance to humiliate him. He hopped into his vehicle and started the primary thrusters. Soon he was zooming through the air to his base. He took deep breaths as he tried to calm down only one thought going through his head.
‘He hates me… Dib hates me… I failed, and now… I’m going to die.’
