Chapter 9: The "White" Hunt
9, June 2017 AD, 16.22 AD (Homeworld's time)
Back to White Diamond and Whit.
As hours passed. They reached to traffic tunnels where the lower regions of Homeworld. Whit is still driving while his Diamond is sleeping quietly. Whit looked at her and it's cute to see her like that.
"My diamond?" He gently touched her tender hand in order to not upset her.
White Diamond yawned and weakly opened her eyes "How long I was sleeping?"
"Two hours.." He shows her two fingers
White Diamond looks at the window "I'm bored..." Then she has an idea "Let's play a game."
Whit raised his eyebrow "What Game?"
White touch his arms "Words"..."It could be fun."
"I'm sorry my diamond, I need to concentrate on traffic," Whit says while concertinaing on traffic.
White Diamond scowls "Fiiine...when we will reach lower regions?"
Whit looks at the sign "Well. we are already here, my diamond."
Market district
They flew past the tunnel and reached lower regions. It nothing compares to Diamond plaza or Imperial plaza. It mostly where average Gem lives in here. Whit landed his craft to the land pad. They both get out of it. White Diamond looks around. This place for her is familiar
"I-I remember this place. It where my uncle lives." White whispers
Whit hears her words "You have a family?"
White Diamond looks at him "Had. My Father was a previous White Diamond while my mother was from rich family. I didn't saw him that much...He is always been busy dealing with his sector. Then he died during the battle for Earth and mother died because her Gemstone had a virus. So I left with my uncle."
Whit crossed his arms "So...You are pureblood Gem?"
"All Diamonds are Purebloods, Whit" White corrects him
White Diamond looks how Gems doing their stuff. Some are buying stuff. Others are selling.
"Feels like home. Whit please show where is our commander."
He gestured to her follow him. As they walking. White Diamond noticed that crowd is staring at her. Maybe they surprised that Diamond is walking in places like this. They passed about twenty-five different stores. Then Whit stopped in the specific restaurant.
"This one" Whit stops
White Diamond made weak smile "Good"
White Diamond watched as a bartender serving drinks to clients. She smiled at him.
White notices "He is your uncle?"
"Yes...Let's get Commander and leave Homeworld as soon as possible."
"You not going to talk with him?"
White Diamond shrugs her shoulders "Why? He has his own life. I can't-"
Whit interrupts her "Talking with you won't hurt his life."
White Diamond sighs "I' suppose you right. Come with me."
White Diamond went inside to the restaurant. Receptionist noticed her, he then approached to her.
"Welcome, my Diamond. It pleasure to see you. Do you want to order something?" Receptionist reached out for a pen.
"She doesn't want anything..."
Bartender approached to White Diamond and smiled at her. She smiled back at him.
Bartender touches her arm "She just wants to see her good old uncle."
"It's good to see you again," White say with no emotions
"What? No hug. I know you are Diamond but sometimes even Diamond can give a hug to old gem."
White Diamond smirked. She then hugged him with all power that she has. "Uncle" She sounds like she is crying.
"You all grown up Zeira. I wish that your mother would see you right know. Knowing that her daughter is the most beautiful Gemrsona on the Homeworld."
White Diamond smiles "Thank you, Uncle. But I'm not most beautiful Gem in the Empire."
"Don't lie to yourself. Your white dress, style of your hair, nails and even your body makes you beautiful."
White Diamond giggles "So are you saying that it gave me a chance to get laid." She sarcastically said.
"I hope it's not Blue Diamond," Bartender smirks
"Yeah right. I burn him alive if he is going under my dress…even though he is already dead." She said with the slight giggle.
'Yeah...poor guy. So Zeira...why are you here?"
"My commander is here somewhere."
The bartender pointed to Gem who is on the corner. He is having a lunch while having a conversation with Blue Pearl.
"What is she doing here?" Whit asks
"She appeared about five minutes ago." Receptionist says.
White Diamond narrows her eye"I see...catch your later, Uncle."
"You too, Zeira."
Then White Diamond approached to the table. Commander looked at her and stopped eating.
"Commander...Pearl." White nods both to them.
"My Diamond?" Both Blue Pearl and White Commander said at the same time.
"Why are you doing here, Blue Pearl?"
"I-I just want to ask you something, my Diamond."
Which is?
"Can I escape with you, my Diamond? The blue sector is destroyed. I don't want to be deactivated"
White Diamond pat her "Of course you can, Pearl."
Blue Pearl smiled at her. White Commander confused "What both are you talking about?" He said before he drank a water
"Authority is hunting us, Commander." White Diamond explains.
Commander nearly throws out water "Damn it" He spilled some water on his armor "what are we going to do?!"
"What about my warship?" White asks
"What about it?"
"Is it ready?"
White Commander checks on Gem-boy "It on lock down right know because tomorrow will be Carnelian's speech."
"We can't wait, Commander. Gear up and come with me...Today we will leave Homeworld."
White Commander: "Of course my diamond. Then I will contact with our crew to be ready. There one problem that in order to unlock our warship. Someone of us needs to infiltrate Homeworld Approach Center and manually released warship."
Whit made one step forward "I will do it."
White Diamond looks at him "Are you sure?
"I'm sure. I will distract them while you escape."
White Diamond hugged him again. "Thank you for everything." She releases him.
"I tell our plan later. Now we need to wait for dawn."
He then made a contact through his earplug "Cloud, Do you copy?"
"Copy League." Pilot' voice says
"We need a transport to White Diamond's warship. We are in the lower district of Homeworld right known."
"Copy. Will arrive in ten minutes."
"Now. We need to wait for ten minutes."
"Or not." He points to two Yellow soldiers who are entering the restaurant.
Receptionist ran up to them "I'm sorry but-"
One of the soldiers hit with Receptionist by the butt of his rifle. Receptionist fell unconscious. Other Yellow soldier noticed White Diamond.
"IT'S WHITE DIAMOND! SHOOT HER DOWN!"
White Commander quickly stood from his table. Pulled his Gemstol from his holster and shot both soldiers. They poofed momentarily.
White Commander reloads his pistol "We should move before another group of yellow soldiers will arrive."
"Zeira, Can you explain to me, what a hell is going on?" He said as he approached White Diamond from the cover.
White Diamond released a breath. "I insult Yellow Diamond for being a tyrant to Gemirians. Then she started a great "White" hunt to me."
"Why didn't you tell me that thing sooner?"
"I don't want to drag you into my problems, Uncle. I'm White Diamond for creators sake!" She used Blue Diamond words.
"I know you are White Diamond. But you also my granddaughter, Zeira. You always can ask me your Uncle for help." Bartender parts
White Diamond can't hold back her tears, she approached to the wall and released all frustration to it by punching it. She managed to break it through the wall.
She approached her Uncle and hugs him again. "I wish that I never became White Diamond!" She said while sobbing every word.
"Shhh...It's okay." Bartender comforts her
He turned his head to Commander. "Do you have the plan to keep her safe?"
"We planning to escape from Homeworld."
"You better. Our Emperor will soon unleash his anger to diamonds."
"Indeed he will."
"You are not helping Commander," White mumbled
"Sorry."
"Then I will come with you, Zeira." He said as he released her from the hug.
"No uncle. Stay here...on Homeworld. Move to Imperial plaza, it a lot safe in here."
She then opened her little white purse and got some gemirian credits. "Here it will help you."
She gave him one dark imperial Gemcrit. It' show's Carnelian's head and old imperial symbol in the background. the value of Gemcrit is enormous...it's say 10.00000 million value.
"Zeira...where you get this, It very rare currency." He said in surprised tone,
She kissed him on the cheek. "Consider as a gift from White Court to you, Uncle."
"Thank you, Zeira...and be careful outside Homeworld."
"I will, Uncle...I will."
With that Bartender ran to back door and disappeared from her sight.
"Let's go, Guys...I'm tired of this place." White sighs
They left the restaurant. They started proceeding with the medium walk through market district. They finally reached to transport that Whit and White Diamond previously used it.
"How long the pilot will arrive at us?"
Not sure. He said-"
Then the cab starts beeping fast.
"LOOK OUT!" Whit creams
Whit pushed both White Diamond and Commander to another side. The cab was exploded and Whit flew about 1 meter. He slammed his head into the wall.
"Private!" Commander says
"I'm okay!" He said far away.
Out nowhere appeared the group of Yellow Commandos starts shooting them.
"WHAT A HELL IS GOING!" White shouts to everyone
"An ambush!" Blue Pearl hides in the cover.
"Do you have any fight abilities, Pearl!?" White shouts
"CAN'T HEAR YOU!" Blue Pearl shouts
"DO YOU HAVE ANY FIGHT ABILITIES, PEARL!?" White shouts louder.
"NO, I'M ASSISTANT...NOT A WARRIOR!"
A Little bit far from the fight.
A tall armored Pearl-class gem climbed on the tower. She placed her briefcase on the floor. She opened and grabbed the square thing. She pushed a button and square thing forms into a sniper rifle. She reloads with Crystal Ammo and aimed at the gunfight.
"Orders?" Armored pearl says.
"You need to kill both White Diamond and her Commander. Make sure that it's looks like Yellow soldiers killed her. Not you." Redstone says through his earplug.
"Yes, sir"
She looks trough the scope. Commander is visible for her. She holds her breath and pulls at trigger...
White Commander left his cover to shoot. But the bullet hit his stomach. He cried out and fell to the cover.
"COMMANDER!" White screams. She tried to stand up but her high heels make some unhelpful noise.
"Stupid Diamond high heels!" She hisses
She furiously removed her high heels and threw them to Yellow soldier who is above everyone else. Her heels hit his head, He lost balance and accidentally fell from the tower.
"How am I going to get to the commander, if those idiots don't let me?" White whispers
Then someone threw a grenade to Commandos. It exploded and the bodies of the soldiers flew in all directions. Whit ran up to the cover and starts shooting rest of Commandos.
"GO MY DIAMOND. I'll cover you!" He shouted as he shooting.
White Diamond takes a chance. She ran up from the cover while trying to dodge bullets. The pearl didn't get a chance to shot her. White Diamond reaches to lying Commander who is grunting.
"Commander, Commander, can you hear me?!" She shook his body.
She noticed that he is...bleeding? "But How?" She whispered to herself
Commander began to cough hard. White Diamond does not know medicine that much but she has an idea. She ripped any garments from her dress and pinned them to his stomach in order to stop bleeding. It didn't help him.
"STAY WITH ME, THAT'S AN ORDER!" White shouted while trying holding back her tears.
"I'm...so...sorry...my...Diamond...I...failed you." He said while grunting in pain.
"No, you're not. Please don't die...I need you, Commander." She broke out in tears as she noticed that his gem has stopped glowing.
"It's...been...pleasure...to...serve...you..."
White Diamond noticed through the mask that he closed his eyes...then poofed. She starts sobbing again...but stopped when she remind herself that she can lose even more of her people.
"Great...insult Yellow met Uncle and lost Commander...best day ever."
She looked at dress...or what's left of it. Her dress becomes just a torn up skirt. "And I need to buy a new dress."
"I CAN'T HOLD THEM MUCH LONGER!" Whit screams
Then White Diamond hears the sounds of the engine getting and getting closer. Then out nowhere appeared assault transport. Both Whit and Commandos stopped firing each other and watches as Transport floating in the air. Then it' released some rockets and hits group of Yellow Commandos.
"IT ONE OF OURS SHIPS!" Whit cheers up.
"WE DID IT, WHIT!" She shouted with the cheerful tone.
Assault Transport landed and about six White Commandos climb off the ship and take their positions. Then Leader of Commandos and two Guardians with crystal shields ran up to her.
"It pleasure to see you in one piece my diamond...also your torn up dress make you even more beautiful." Leader of Commandos says
"Very funny, sergeant." She said in annoyance.
"Hey...just trying cheer you up ,my Diamond."
"You can cheer me up every day when we leave Homeworld."
"Well...as you say. You two cover her with shields!"
"Yes, sir." They both prepare their shields
Then Guardians made a protective line stand, they covered White Diamond with their shield. Then Leader of Commandos managed to get her safety to the shuttle and so Blue Pearl. When the last Commandos climbed on board. The leader then knocked on the wall of the ship.
The leader of Commandos: "GO! EVERYONE IS ON BOARD, PILOT!"
Pilot nodded. He pushed a button and main doors closed. Then Transport lifts up and fly away through the tunnel and merged with others ships on main Homeworld traffic.
Meanwhile, the pearl lowered her weapon. She opens her wrist computer.
"I managed to kill one of them. But White Diamond escaped from me."
"Continue with your mission. You still have a chance" Redstone says
"Understood," the pearl nods.
Inside White Transport
"Well...we survived another day, that's for sure." Blue Pearl sighs
Then one of the Commandos noticed that someone is missing.
"Where is our Commander?" Says one of her soldiers
White Diamond sat on the floor and sighed with sadness on her voice. "He is gone, private. His soul now can live in peace with Creators."
"What? it can't be true!"
"Yellow Diamond will pay for this!" Leader hissed
White Diamond looks at him "Forget about Yellow Diamond. Our main mission is to leave Homeworld as soon as possible."
"My diamond? Our bridge officer is available through intercom right know."
"Patch him trough."
"Yes, mam."
Then on the screen appeared officer himself. "My Diamond, I heard the news. Commander already sends a message about our plan."
"Is my Warship ready?"
"It's ready. But we still need someone to manually override lockdown. The problem is Center heavily guarded."
"I already agreed that I will do this."
"Then good luck private."
He then cut transmission, White Diamond walked slowly to Whit "You can still refuse if you want, Whit."
"It's okay. It's part of my codex."
"Your Codex?"
Whit turns around to her "All soldiers who die in battles leave a bit of inheritance in the Empire. We are fighting for the next generation and the preservation of the power of our Emperor. We the soldiers of the great Empire and we are ready to give our life...That's what written in the codex of fighters."
"It's a little bit dark, Whit."
"That's a life of normal soldier...you fight...you eat...and you die."
White Diamond feels guilty. Her own soldiers are fighting for her life and she just sits on her chair and doing "Authority" stuff.
She then hugs his back. "I'm so sorry Whit."
"It's okay."
Whit is watching through the Transport's window as sun brights very much
6 hours later. Outside the Homeworld Approach Center.
Whit is watching as the sun is already gone. It's now very dark in Homeworld. He prayed to Creators that he will be okay.
"My diamond, Is everyone ready?" He said trough his earplug.
Affirmative, Private. Everyone is aboard including Blue Pearl. We are waiting for your signal."
"Then I can start."
"Be careful...and may Creators have a mercy on your soul."
Whit cut the connection. He put his white helmet on, visor and gas mask in any case. He loaded his rifle and put his pistol to the holster.
"Let's begin."
He approached door while mumbling song. He pushed a button and doors opened to Homeworld Approach Center. He then takes an elevator to Tower. When Elevator reaches Tower. Whit noticed that guard are not ordinary Authority soldiers...They are Imperial Gemirians troopers or correctly Carnelians personal soldiers. All of them wears as old dark imperial style armors, instead of Yellow Diamond's symbol they are wearing old Imperial Eagle symbol. Whit heard rumors that this Eagle was an original banner of Gem Empire before Authority rebelled against Carnelian.
"You know you're not supposed to be here, soldier." The Gemirian officer hisses
"I know." He said as he approached officer
"Then why are you here?"
Whit said nothing. Officer aimed at him with his pistol. "I'm asking you again...why are you here?!"
Whit slapped his pistol out his hand. He then takes officer as a shield. Others soldiers aimed at Whit. "DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT! I WILL BLOW HIS BRAINS OUT!"
"DON"T SHOOT HIM, LET HIM DO WHAT HE WANT!" Officer screams
Then Whit slowly approached to the console. He pushed a button and lock down of White Diamond's warship is over.
White Diamond's warship.
"The lockdown is over my Diamond." White Navigator
White Diamond approached to console and opened the communication "Whit, do you hear me?"
"Go without me my Diamond, save the galaxy by yourself," Whit shouts
"I'm sorry Whit. Navigator...start hyper jump process"
"Yes, mam."
Then Warship lifts up. It flies past few skyscrapers and reached an open space to have a safe hyper jump.
"Can we jump without warp pad?" White asks
"Of course, we can my Diamond. This ship has FTL core engine."
"Then do it!"
Bridge crew starts doing their work on the console. After some time, Navigator starts final Countdown. "Hyper jump will be in five...four...three...two...one"
Back again to Whit
Whit watches as warship quickly disappeared. He smiled knowing that they did it. But then he feels that someone pierced his armor. He feels that he is becoming week. He released an officer who looks at him with a surprised face. Whit fallen on his knees. He touched the place that he feels the pain. He noticed that he has a blood. Then out nowhere in front of him appeared dark tall figure. It looks like that figure is using a clock device to hide. She looks she is from Pearl Class but more threateningly. He noticed that she is holding dagger with a blood on it. She then pulled out her sword from her holster and pierced it through Whit's Armor.
"Good Riddance, traitor." the pearl hisses
She then pulled the out sword out his armor. He fell on the floor and poofed.
Gemirian Officer approached "W-who are you?"
"It doesn't concern you, officer. But if you want to know...I'am the future of Pearl class gems" the pearl hisses
She then used her wrist computer and contacted with her leader.
"Ahh...Phantom Pearl. I'm presuming that you finished the task." Redstone says through his earplug.
"Yes and No, sir. I killed one of them but I didn't manage to get White Diamond and put out her from misery." Phantom Pearl says
"Shame...at least she is now out of the picture...you did well today, Pearl."
Outside the Temple of Diamond Legacy.
While The capital of Homeworld has some problems. Carnelian leaves the capital for one last mission. He is holding a Golden Diamond's gemstone for one purpose...He entered the temple and before he was a stunning view. Many gravestones of Diamonds are here. Each of them is unique. Most of them are just remind of Diamonds that passed out in History. Carnelian passed about five or six columns of gravestones. He stopped when he reached column of Pink's Diamonds Gravestones. There're only two gravestones...First Pink Diamond and Aura Quartz gravestone.
"That little monster doesn't deserve a gravestone," Carnelian whispers as he saw her daughter's grave.
"But she was Pink Diamond, isn't it?" Said raspy voice.
Carnelian turned around the one who is speaking. He is wearing a dark robe. Carnelian never saw his face, but probably around 12000-year-old Gemirian.
"Elder Diamond, It pleasure to see you again." Carnelian bowed his head to show respect
Elder Diamond smiles "Probably I should say this words. So Carnelian...decided to meet, you daughter?"
"She is not my Daughter, Elder. Aura Quartz is just an abomination."
"You sound like you feel guilty."
"If I and Golden Diamond never wanted to have a child. Then I never would loose power over Empire."
"But if you never wished for kids. Rose Quartz would never appear. But what about your Grandson?" Elder asks him
Carnelian crossed his arms "He...he is just brainwashed by the Crystal Gems, Elder. I just wanted to help him...to show a true road. But he denied that."
Elder smirks "It pretty common to humans to do this. Son always follows his mother or father steps. Grandfather or Grandmother tries to help his Grandson to have a better life."
"I know, I just...I just never wished to be his enemy. I-I really don't talk about this." Carnelian snaps.
"Then tell me, why are you here?"
"I want to give you this." He showed him a Golden Diamond shattered gemstone.
"Ah. A great legendary lady Diamond herself. It's very noble to finally to give me a shattered gem of your wife."
"I decided that she finally needs a peace," Carnelian says calmly.
"Too bad she has never seen her own Grandson." Elder Diamond accurately grabs Golden's Gemstone from his hands.
"She never saw how Rose Quartz is growing up," Carnelian comments
Then Elder Diamond gestured him to follow. They walked about another five columns and finally reached a golden altar thing. "We made this altar the for the honor of our first lady Diamond that ever appeared in Empire."
He then placed a gemstone inside the altar and closed the hatch. They closed their eyes and started praying.
"May the Creators have a mercy on your soul Golden Diamond..." Elder Diamond prayed.
"And know that I never will forget you until the end of times, my Diamond...Rest in peace." Carnelian finishes
Unknown part of the Milky Way, White Diamond's warship.
White Diamond watches as tons of stars are visible from the main window. She is thinking of Whit.
"My Diamond, unfortunately, Whit is dead. He didn't answer any our calls." Her navigator approached her.
White Diamond stood up from her chair "I already know that Navigator."
"What now?" Blue Pearl asks
"Now...We are rebels' right know, Pearl. But there's had a hope to save Homeworld from tyranny."
"What hope?" Everyone asks her
White Diamond smiles at them "During the Rose Quart war for Earth. There was another group, similar to Crystal Gem's system. They call themselves as "GRA"...as a new hope for Homeworld."
