(A/N: Ok, here we go, we're finally getting to this. Now, if you've been following my writing, you may have noticed that I've been doing a series of lemon writing challenges. Well, there was a reason behind them. They've all been in preparation for this story. I wanted to try and write an... I don't want to say erotic story, but something along those lines, so I decided to practice for a bit. Yup, that was the purpose for my lemon writing challenges, they've all been in preparation for this. And this isn't just going to be one or two chapters, but a full story. As you can tell from the summary, this will be a Zutara story that takes place in a sort-of AU where the characters are older. And when I say older, I mean they're of age, I want to make that clear. Also, another important note, due to the plot of this story, it may sound or at first come across as being dub-con in some scenes, but that's not going to be the case, this is going to be a seduction story. You'll see what I mean as we get into this. So get ready, because our favorite Waterbender and Firebender are about to create a whole lot of steam. Sorry, I couldn't resist.)

"ONE NIGHT FOR THE AVATAR"
Chapter 1: The Deal
Katara couldn’t believe this had happened. This wasn’t supposed to happen. After 100 years of war, the Fire Nation wasn’t supposed to win. The Avatar was meant to overthrow the Fire Lord and bring forth a new age of peace. Not get captured and fail everyone. At least that’s what Katara had always believed.
Right now, she didn’t know who she was angrier at; Aang for his childish need to have fun all the time, which had ultimately led to his capture, her brother, for his idiocy in his foolish attempt to fight off the Fire Nation soldiers without a proper plan, thus leading to his own capture as well, or herself for the reckless way she had snuck on board the Fire Nation ship to break them both out, only to end up getting captured too. Even poor Appa and Momo had been caught, the former chained up in the cargo hold while the flying lemur was probably locked in a cage somewhere else on the ship.
But she knew who she was angry with the most, the one who had captured them all, Prince Zuko. Well, he had been the one to capture Aang anyway, his soldiers had captured the rest of them, but same difference. He’d been chasing them for years now, always falling short of getting his hands on them until now.
She knew why he did it. As the banished prince, he had been told by his father that he would be forgiven and welcomed back if he captured the Avatar, the only real threat to the Fire Nation in its conquest of the world. And while she sympathized with him, to an extent, she couldn’t allow him to take Aang back to the Fire Nation; the world needed him. Which was why after he and her brother had, along with their animal companions, had been captured, she had taken it upon herself to try and rescue them on her own.
It had been a foolish plan, she knew that. Use her Waterbending to create a platform of ice, and then float after the ship as it made its way back to the Fire Nation, using her Waterbending to propel herself across the sea to catch up to them. They had been rather far from land by the time she reached the ship, but she had managed to catch up. She then snuck on board and attempted to find the others.
The plan had been to break Aang and Sokka out of their cells, find Appa and Momo, free them, and then fly away and escape. How exactly she was going to pull that off, she hadn’t had a clue, but she had to try, for the world’s sake. Sufficient to say, however, that hadn’t gone over well.
While it was true that security around the ship wasn’t all that necessary since they were at sea and hadn’t expected her to sneak onboard the way she did, she knew that there would be plenty of guards watching over Aang. Unfortunately, before she could even find where he or her brother were being kept, she had been spotted by one of the soldiers. From there, the alarm had been sounded, and she too had been caught.
This was how she now found herself being escorted by the soldiers through the ship. They didn’t tell her where they were taking her, but they didn’t have to. She knew she was either being taken to a cell of her own, or to him. But if she was being taken to the Fire Prince, she wasn’t really all that worried; she could deal with Zuko. She was more worried about how they were going to get out of this and escape.
That was her primary concern. At the very least, Aang had to get away. Ideally, all of them could escape, but he more than any of them needed to, no matter what the cost or sacrifice. If he didn’t get away and master the four elements and stop the Fire Lord, then the world would be doomed to live as little more than slaves under his tyrannical rule indefinitely.
She realized that she was in fact being taken to Zuko as they approached the door that she suspected led to the Fire Prince’s study, and she caught sight of Zuko’s Uncle Iroh standing by the entrance. Unlike the others on the ship, Iroh always gave off an air of kindness and compassion. Even though he was still the enemy, Katara had never felt concerned or wary of him. And even now he gave her a kind smile.
“Don’t worry, my dear,” he told her with a gentle smile. “It’s not you my nephew wants. I’m sure he’ll let you and your brother go soon enough.”
His words were not reassuring, and she glared at him. “Maybe, but it’s Aang who’s important.”
He sighed at that. “I’m afraid there’s nothing I can do about that. There’s nothing my nephew wants more.”
Katara resisted the urge to roll her eyes. Based on the way Zuko had obsessively pursued them everywhere, that much was obvious. She held her tongue though as the door was opened and she was pushed inside.
And there he was, sitting at his desk, a pile of papers in front of him. Preparing letters to send to his nation bragging about his success? Perhaps. But until he had Aang in the Fire Nation itself and turned him over to his father, he hadn’t officially won. And Katara was determined to never let that happen, no matter what it took.
As the door slammed shut behind her, Zuko looked up from his desk, giving her a disappointed look. “My soldiers tell me you snuck onto my ship and attempted to free the Avatar all by yourself.”
Katara stubbornly crossed her arms, fixing him with a glare. “Well, I had to try something.”
“It was a foolish thing to do. Coming onto an enemy ship all alone, where you’re clearly outnumbered, to try and free a heavily guarded prisoner. I thought you were smarter than that, Katara.”
She wished she had her water pouch with her, then she would have water-whipped that condescending look right off his face. Unfortunately, it had been taken when she was captured, leaving her defenseless. “I can’t let you take Aang to the Fire Nation. The world needs him.”
“I need him,” Zuko replied. “I must regain my–”
“Honor,” she interrupted, rolling her eyes. “I’ve heard it enough times. I still don’t really know what that’s all about, but whatever caused you to lose your honor, locking up Aang won’t bring it back. Only you can restore your honor.”
“And that’s exactly what I’m doing.”
Frustrated, Katara marched over and slammed her hands down on the desk. Zuko didn’t even react, as if he knew she wasn’t a threat. And he was right. Zuko was both a skilled swordsman and a powerful Firebender, able to pretty much conjure up his element out of thin air. Katara, on the other hand, was no warrior. She may be formidable with her Bending, but without a water source, she was as powerless as an untrained Non-Bender, and they both knew it.
“Doing this isn’t going to restore your stupid honor!” she snapped.
He stood up, standing a little taller than her. “It will. My father promised to restore it. Once I give him the Avatar, I’ll have earned his love.”
Katara wanted to scream in frustration at how warped the Fire Prince’s views were. “Love isn’t something earned through favors. Love is given freely, and a parent’s love should be unconditional. If your father is retracting his love, then he’s doing it willingly.”
Rather than argue with her, Zuko just sighed and looked away. “You don’t understand. How could you? You don’t know my life, just as I don’t know yours. But this is something I have to do. I can’t return home otherwise.”
Katara’s eyes flashed violently. “Even if it dooms the world?”
Zuko snorted. “Stop being so dramatic. The world will be fine, and it certainly won’t be ‘doomed’. Once the Fire Nation wins the war, we’ll make it a better place.”
Katara’s mouth dropped open in shock. “A better place? A better place? Have you seen the state of the world? It’s falling apart because of the Fire Nation!”
He turned back to her, giving her a look that a parent would give a naïve child. “We’re at war, Katara. Do you expect everything to be all sunshine and rainbows? And we wouldn’t even be at war if the other nations would just accept the Fire Nation.”
A low growl escaped Katara. She didn’t appreciate his holier-than-thou tone. “Did it ever occur to you that the other nations don’t want to have the Fire Nation dictating them, and maybe that’s why they’re resisting? Did you ever consider that they may disagree that what you want for them would be better, and that they’re better off the way they are?”
A scoff escaped Zuko. “Now you’re just revealing your ignorance. You honestly sound like a child. And how many times do children resist what their parents want for them, even though the parent knows what’s best? They may go kicking and screaming, but they ultimately learn that their parents were right and that they did know better.” He shook his head. “Sometimes you need to be harsh to make sure everyone benefits. That’s what the Fire Nation is doing in trying to better the world, and this war with the other nations, it’s just like children resisting the parents who know better.”
Katara just glared at him, unmoved by his little speech. “And how do you know that the Fire Nation is the parent in this scenario? Maybe it’s the child that only thinks it knows better, but it’s actually wrong, and the other nations know better.”
He gave her a doubtful look. “The Fire Nation didn’t exactly become the strongest and most advanced nation by being wrong.”
Katara threw her hands up in frustration. He just didn’t get it, having bought into his nation’s propaganda. She couldn’t really blame him for that she supposed; he had been brought up believing this all his life. It would take a lot more than words to show him that all this was wrong.
“As for the world,” he continued, “I can understand your concern. You believe that the Avatar is the only one who can end the war and bring about peace. But there’s more than one way for the war to end, Katara. Once the Fire Nation wins, we’ll finally have peace, and then we can work towards building a better world. If anything, the Avatar gives the other nations a motivation to keep fighting, which will only prolong the war and cause more needless suffering.”
He sighed, now giving her a look of pity. “But as I said, I can understand why the Avatar is so important to you. You’ve lived with the misguided belief that he’ll defeat the so-called evil Fire Lord and save the world, so by default you think that if he doesn’t, then the world will end. But trust me, Katara, the world will be fine; the Fire Nation will see to it.”
She didn’t say anything; there was no point. They would never see eye-to-eye on this. She had to focus on figuring out how to get Aang out of here before they reached the Fire Nation.
“In any case,” he said, taking a seat once more, “if you’re concerned for yourself or your brother, you don’t need to be. The only one I need is the Avat–”
“His name is Aang,” she interrupted. “Stop trying to dehumanize him by constantly calling him ‘the Avatar’ to make yourself feel less guilty about what you’re doing.”
His eyes narrowed in annoyance. “I’m not attempting to dehumanize him. I simply have no interest in personally getting to know an enemy of my nation. But as I was saying, you don’t need to worry about you or your brother. Once we get close enough to the Fire Nation, I’ll drop the two of you off on a nearby island. Don’t worry, it’s inhabited. From there, you can get a boat ride home. You can even take your lemur pet with you. Until then, I can’t run the risk of you trying to free the Avatar.”
She just continued to glare at him. “So we’re just supposed to sit in a cell until then?”
Looking resigned, he pinched the bridge of his nose. “Like I said, I can’t take the risk that you’ll pull off another escape attempt, this time successfully. But I’ll try to make your… accommodations as comfortable as possible. And as long as you don’t try anything, none of you will be harmed.”
“How reassuring.”
He shrugged. “Take my hospitality or leave it, but this matter is now closed. It was always a matter of time before the Avatar was mine anyway, and now this game of chase is over. After I drop off you and your brother, we’ll never have to see each other again.” He stood up, clearly bringing this conversation to an end. “So I guess this is basically goodbye.”
The two stared at each other, Zuko with what Katara assumed was a look of pity in his yellow eyes, which only made the anger in her own burn brighter. But then she saw it, the subtle way Zuko’s gaze quickly ran up and down her body before returning to her face. For a brief moment, she thought she saw a flash of regret before he looked away then and made his way around his desk, walking past her and heading for the door, no doubt to call for his guards to come and take her away.
Suddenly, Iroh’s words came back to her. “It’s not you my nephew wants.”
Katara’s breath suddenly hitched. She wasn’t entirely sure that was true, especially after the look she had caught in Zuko’s eyes just now as they ran over her body. She had filled out over the years, becoming a gorgeous young woman, at least according to Aang and other men who had paid her such compliments. She knew that Zuko thought so too. She had seen him look at her with desire and want in his eyes during their encounters over the years. And knowing he found her desirable sparked an idea in her head. A desperate crazy idea, but one that just might get them out of this.
“Wait!” she called to him as he raised his hand to knock on the door. “Let’s make a deal.”
He paused just before knocking, and glanced at her in surprise. “A deal?”
She nodded, desperate. “That’s what I said.”
Looking curious, he lowered his hand and turned back to her, leaning his shoulder against the door. “What kind of deal?”
She took a step towards him. “For Aang’s release.”
He immediately held up a hand, stopping her from saying anything else, and shook his head. “Stop right there. Whatever you’re offering, forget it. The Avatar’s release is nonnegotiable. He’s too important to me, and I’ve been chasing him for too long. So whatever you’re offering in exchange for him, it won’t be enough.”
“He’s important to me too,” Katara insisted. “To the world. And shouldn’t you at least hear me out before dismissing what I have to say?”
Now looking bored, Zuko gave her a look that clearly said that he was going to humor her. “Fine, what are you offering?”
Katara swallowed, unable to believe that she was going to say what she was about to say. But she had to, the world was at stake. People were sacrificing their lives, she too had to do whatever it took. And if this was what she had to do, then so be it.
Taking a deep breath, she looked Zuko dead in the eye and said, “Me.”
Silence followed that one word. It seemed to take several moments for what she said to register before Zuko reacted. And when he did, a look of confusion crossed his face; it was clear that he had not expected her to say that.
“What?” he asked, looking completely flabbergasted.
Katara’s fists clenched as she steeled herself to once again make her offer. “Me. You can have me.”
He still looked perplexed, but now seemed to grasp what she meant. She saw that look of want appear in his eyes again, but there was also uncertainty. “In what context?”
Heat filled Katara’s cheeks as she felt herself blush. What she had said already was embarrassing enough, did she really have to spell it out for him? She would have thought that what she meant was obvious. But then again, he was most likely looking for confirmation since he couldn’t seem to believe that she was suggesting what she was suggesting. Hell, she couldn’t believe she was suggesting it, and she was the one putting the offer on the table.
“I’m talking about… s-sex, Zuko,” she stammered, feeling her face heat further. “I’m saying that you can have me in exchange for Aang. For one night!” she quickly added, wanting to make that very clear. If she had to, she would up the ante, but she wanted to start as low as possible. “You can have me for one night. And you can do…” she averted her eyes from him, “whatever you want to me.”
Zuko stared at her, not saying anything. It took everything Katara had to look at him again, and she saw that he was at a loss for words. But then his eyes narrowed and he started to look angry. He moved away from the door and walked back over to his desk. Turning around, he sat against the edge and crossed his arms, giving her a look of disapproval.
“I thought better of you, Katara,” he grumbled, sounding disappointed. “I thought you were better than this, that you thought more of yourself. Tell me, do you always whore yourself out to get what you want?”
Katara’s face turned red, only this time from outrage instead of embarrassment. It took everything she had not to slap him, only holding herself back because it might hurt her cause. “I am not a whore!”
“I didn’t say you were. I asked if you make a habit of offering your body in exchange for favors.”
That didn’t make her feel much better, and even though he was right and he didn’t technically call her a whore, she felt that the insinuation had still been there.
“Of course I don’t,” she insisted angrily. “In fact, if you must know, I’m still a… a virgin.” She averted her eyes again as further embarrassment mixed with her anger, but forced her gaze back to his. “But I’m willing to do whatever it takes to save the world. Even if that means… doing this. I would never make such an offer otherwise.”
Zuko said nothing. The irritation he had displayed when he had implied that she whored herself was gone, and if Katara didn’t know any better, she thought she saw him give her a look of newfound respect at how she really was willing to do everything in her power to save the world. His eyes then ran over her body again, and he appeared to be tempted.
“And what makes you think that I would be interested in some Water peasant?” he asked dismissively.
This, Katara could tell right away, was a bluff, and him calling her a ‘Water peasant’ was his own way of trying to dismiss her offer by trying to convince himself that she wasn’t worth it and he didn’t want her. But she wasn’t fooled. She may be inexperienced, but she knew that Zuko wanted her. He had wanted her for years, possibly as far back as to when he had “saved her from the pirates”, as he had put it. And that want had only grown over time. She had seen it in the way he looked at her, the way he spoke to her, the way he interacted with her when he and his soldiers cornered her, Aang, and Sokka, forcing them to fight it out.
Trying to look bolder than she felt, she raised her head high and gave him a knowing look. “I know you want me, Zuko. You have for a long time now. Well, here’s your chance.”
He was silent again, and once again his gaze traveled over her curves. It made Katara feel self-conscious, and she resisted the urge to cover up more. If she was going to tempt him, then he needed to see what she had to offer. So she changed her stance, attempting to show off more of her assets.
“Just how long has it been since you’ve been with a woman?” she asked, trying to add a trace of seduction to her tone. “You’ve been chasing us for a long time.” She then raised an eyebrow. “Have you ever been with a woman before?”
This time it was Zuko who turned red with anger and embarrassment. “Of course I have! The Fire Nation isn’t as reserved as the Water Tribes.” Still looking annoyed, he gave her a curious look. “How old are you anyway? Are you even old enough to make such an offer?”
She blushed again. She was old enough. Barely, but she was. “I’m of age.”
He snorted dismissively. “Even so, what would I need you for? I’m the prince of the Fire Nation. Once my honor is restored, I’ll have plenty of women to choose from.”
Katara had planned for such a response, though she knew that she was about to tread on thin ice with what she was about to say next. “With that scar? Your mark of dishonor? I can’t imagine there will be many women willing to throw themselves at you with that.”
This was a bold-faced lie on her part. Zuko may be the enemy, but Katara couldn’t deny that he was also incredibly attractive, even with his scar. Quite honestly, unless the Fore Nation women were really shallow and superficial, she didn’t see many rejecting him. However, she knew that he was insecure about it, which was why she brought it up; she needed to use everything she could to her advantage.
But it seemed that she had said a bit too much. Pushing himself off his desk, fire appeared in Zuko’s hands, and he shot out streams behind him, scorching the walls.
“Don’t you dare talk about my scar!” he bellowed furiously.
Katara winced as she realized her mistake. It wouldn’t do to have him angry with her. She had been attempting to make him feel as of his choice in bed partners were more limited than he thought, even if she didn’t think that would actually be the case. But it seemed that that had backfired, literally. Now she had to do some damage control.
“Sorry,” she said sincerely, “that was rude. But you must have thought about it yourself. The point I was trying to make is that there’s a willing woman in front of you right now. One you’ve wanted for a while now too. And you won’t need to worry about what I think about your scar like you would with other women.”
Zuko snorted again, but most of his anger seemed to have dissipated as he leaned against his desk again. “Even if my scar was an issue, they have brothels in the Fire Nation who wouldn’t care about my scar, and there are concubine as well. So there are plenty of women that I could take to my bed.”
“But none of them are me,” she told him, getting to the heart of the matter. “I’m the one you really want. The one you’ve wanted for years. And this is your one and only chance to have me.”
He glared at her, looking angry again. “Yes, and to have it become known that the evil Prince Zuko is a rapist, right?”
Katara’s mouth dropped open in shock. “I would never make such an accusation. I would have thought you’d know me better than that.”
He shrugged. “The point is, I’m not in favor of taking an unwilling partner.”
Well, at least he was honorable in that sense, she decided. “I’m not unwilling. I’m the one making the offer.”
He crossed his arms, giving her a somewhat condescending look. “So you’re saying that you’re offering yourself up to me when you’re still a virgin? You’re saying you’re really ok with me dishonoring you?”
Katara mentally swore. He had her there. While she didn’t exactly think he was the best person to judge what was honorable or dishonorable due to his warped opinion of it, she could see his point of view in this. Why did he have to make this so difficult? Why couldn’t he just accept her offer like so many other men would?
But she was prepared with a comeback, though it did cause her cheeks to heat up. “I… I would be sacrificing my maidenhead for the sake of saving the world. I think many would consider making such a sacrifice to actually be an honorable thing, wouldn’t you?”
He was silent for a moment, seemingly considering her words, but then he crossed his arms. “Perhaps. But even so, what makes you think I would dishonor myself by dishonoring you?”
Those were some mental gymnastics if she ever heard them. “I thought you were already without honor. Isn’t that why you’re bringing Aang to your father?”
He let out of huff of hot air from his nose; she could actually see the steam escape his nostrils. “Then you’re asking me to dishonor myself further?”
By all the gods, he was utterly obsessed with honor. “Why would you be dishonoring me? You want me and I’m willing. If there’s any dishonor there, it would be on my end since I’m the one saying yes or no. And to save the world, I’m saying yes. I’d consider that more of a noble sacrifice on my part than a dishonor.”
He raised an eyebrow at this. “And you would sleep with me otherwise? As if you don’t find the thought of being with someone of the Fire Nation to be anything less than repulsive?”
She blushed again; she really wished she would stop doing that. “I don’t think you’re repulsive. I just don’t condone your actions, yours or your nation’s. You’re actually rather handsome. Under different circumstances…”
She trailed off as she realized what she had been saying. What had she been saying? Had she just been talking without thinking? She’d basically just admitted that she found him attractive.
Which, to be fair, was true. She found Zuko to be extremely attractive. Him being the enemy was irrelevant. Physical attraction had nothing to do with character. She had still found Jet attractive even after he revealed himself to be an awful, deceitful person who was willing to kill innocents.
Zuko’s eyebrows rose. “You’re saying you find me attractive?” He brought up his hand and touched his scar. “Even with this?”
More blushing, and she willed the warmth out of her cheeks. “Well, your scar adds… character. It’s really how you’ve been constantly chasing us all over the place that I have an issue with, not your appearance.”
Zuko inclined his head. “Which brings us back to the heart of the matter. You want me to give up the Avatar, my chance to regain my honor, my throne, my father’s love, the goal I’ve been striving for years to achieve, just for one night with you?”
She tried not to take offense to that. He wasn’t saying he found her unappealing, just that the exchange didn’t exactly seem fair. “I didn’t say to give up your goal, just to let Aang go this time. I’m sure you’ll be right back on our tails to capture him again right away. He only knows Air and Water, even after all this time. We have yet to find an Earthbending or Firebending teacher for him, so there will be plenty more opportunities for you to catch him again. But you won’t get another chance to have me.”
“So this is to become a regular thing then? I catch the Avatar, you give yourself to me, I let him go, rinse and repeat until either I decide to stop accepting your offer or he learns all the elements and overthrows my father?”
Hopefully, they would never find themselves in this situation again, but Katara would cross that bridge if and when it came to it. “I’m not talking about the future; I’m talking about right now. You’ll get another chance to catch Aang again. If you do, then you’ll have had both. You’ll have gotten to have me in your bed, and you’ll have Aang.”
She watched him study her, and she could practically see the wheels in his head turning. He was tempted, and she could tell that he was really considering her offer. If she pushed just a little harder, would he give in?
Pushing her shyness aside, she stepped closer to him, reaching up to place a hand on his armor. “This is your one and only chance to have me. Not just have me, but to claim my maidenhead. If you take Aang back now, you’ll forever wonder what you would have missed out on, and I’ll forever be out of your reach. But if you let Aang go now, you can always catch him again later, and you’ll get to have me in your bed.” Her eyes rose from her hand on his chest to his face, giving him the most alluring look she could muster. “Don’t you want me?”
He did, badly. She could read it all over his face. But just as she thought he might give in, his hand came up and grabbed her wrist, pulling her hand off his chest.
“This isn’t just about me though,” he told her. “I have my soldiers to think about. How do you think they’ll react if after all these years of trying to capture the Avatar on my orders that I just let him go just to have you in my bed?”
Katara paused at this. She hadn’t considered that, but she quickly improvised. “They don’t need to know. This is your ship. Couldn’t you just, I don’t know, find a way to sneak us off? They don’t need to know how we escaped, only that we did.”
And her brother and Aang would never need to know that she gave herself to Zuko in exchange for their release. She could just tell them that she had been able to convince one of the soldiers to let them go somehow. She would need to come up with a story later.
Of course, that was considering Zuko took her deal in the first place. But looking at his face, she could see that he was not only deep in thought, he was torn. Still, that meant that he was actually considering it, and she mentally crossed her fingers. If this didn’t work, she didn’t know what else to do. Aang would be turned over to the Fire Lord, and the world would be doomed. Everything the other nations had fought for, all the warriors who had lost their lives, it would all be for naught, and they would have no choice but to submit to the Fire Nation’s rule.
“If I agree to this,” he said slowly, making Katara hold her breath, “then I would expect the same from you as I would from a genuine lover. That means I expect full participation, no just lying there like a dead fish and getting it over with. I expect to be fully satisfied.”
Katara let out the breath she had been holding as she once again felt her face heat up. She should have expected as much, but it didn’t matter. If it meant that he would release Aang, she would give Zuko the night of his life.
“I understand,” she said shyly. “You can do whatever you want to me, and I’ll cooperate. But like I said, I don’t have any experience, so I won’t really know what I’m doing.”
He nodded at that. “That’s fine. I do have experience, so I can show you what to do. But I think you’ll find a lot of it to be… instinctual.”
She blushed harder than ever as she suddenly envisioned herself and Zuko being intimate. “F-Fine. I promise to… p-perform… to the best of my abilities.” A thought suddenly struck her, and she eyed the Fire Prince suspiciously. “But how do I know that you’ll let Aang go after I do this?”
He raised an eyebrow at her. “You’re really asking me that? You know how important honor is to me. Do you really think that I would go back on my word?”
Yes, she supposed that was true. “Well, you are our enemy.”
“That doesn’t mean I don’t keep my word.”
Katara nodded, finding that she did in fact believe him. “Ok, fine, I believe you. I give you one night, you let Aang go.”
“One night for the Avatar,” Zuko confirmed with a nod.
“But you have to let all of us go. Sokka, me, Appa, and Momo. Aang won’t leave without us, and he’ll need Appa to leave in the first place.”
Zuko scoffed. “I figured as much. And I already told you that I intended to let you and your brother go. We may be enemies, but I have no desire to see either of you rot in my father’s dungeon.”
Well, at least he had that much going for him. It was just a shame he wasn’t willing to extend that same courtesy to Aang. Unless of course, the Fire Lord planned on killing him, most likely by forcing him into the Avatar State first in order to break the cycle so the Avatar in general would no longer be a threat. All the more reason it was so important to get him out.
Unable to believe what she was about to say, she looked Zuko dead in the eye and asked, “So, we have a deal?”
Zuko studied her extended hand for several moments, then pushed himself away from his desk. “Not yet.” He approached her, coming to a stop mere inches in front of her. “Kiss me first.”
Caught off guard, heat instantly filled Katara’s cheeks, and she stared at him in bewilderment. “W-What?”
“I want to test your resolve. See if you’re really willing to do this. Are you really willing to sleep with your enemy? To give your maidenhead to me of all people?”
Throat dry, Katara tried to wet her mouth enough to swallow. “I-If it means saving the world, then yes.”
“Show me then. Show me how dedicated you really are to this. Kiss me.”
Katara’s heart pounded in her chest as she looked at him. Scar aside, he really was very attractive, she had always thought so. It was him being on the opposite side of the war that had stopped her from taking any interest in him. Had that not been the case, had he not been trying to hunt down her, Sokka, and Aang, then she wouldn’t be opposed to pursing someone like him. He may be the enemy, but there were many things about Zuko that she found appealing other than his physical appearance.
But none of that mattered now. This wasn’t about any of that. This was about saving the world. To accomplish that, she was willing to sacrifice her life. For now though, all that was required was that she sacrifice her body.
Her gaze slowly lowered, going down to his lips, and Katara could swear she could hear her heart beating in her ears. She returned her gaze to Zuko’s eyes again before taking a deep breath and leaning in. Closing her eyes, she puckered her lips, and pressed hers to his.
It was a chaste kiss, the mere pressing together of lips. There was no movement, no opening of the mouth, just her lips touching his. All the same, she felt a wave of heat flow through her at the contact. She ignored it though as she kept her lips pressed against his for about ten seconds before pulling back and looking at him expectantly.
Zuko looked dissatisfied. His brow narrowed to show his displeasure as he frowned at her. “That’s not a kiss, Katara. That’s something you give a close friend or family.”
Katara was about to protest that she hadn’t really kissed anyone before, but before she could, one of Zuko’s hands shot out and pressed against her lower back. She let out a surprised gasp as he pulled her up against him, her hands automatically coming up to rest against his chest. Then his other hand came up to grasp the back of her head as he looked down at her with a heated look.
“This is a real kiss.”
His lips came down on hers, hard. Almost immediately, it was as if an explosion had gone off inside her. Heat once again raced through her body, far hotter than before. Katara gasped at the sensation, and Zuko immediately took advantage of the moment. His tongue invaded her mouth and met with hers, and a feeling unlike anything Katara had ever felt before shot through her.
Her hands gripped his shirt as his hand against the back of her head held her captive as he kissed her, his lips moving against hers, his tongue rubbing her own and exploring the confines of her mouth. He had been right, what she had given him before hadn’t been a real kiss. That had been the kiss of a child. But this, this was a real kiss, the kiss shared between lovers, and it was unlike anything she had ever experienced.
A moan escaped Katara against her will, the sound causing Zuko to pull her against him even more. His lips moved almost aggressively against hers, and the next thing she knew, Katara found herself kissing him back. She told herself that she was simply responding to his demand to kiss him, pushing aside the little voice that told her that she had already started returning his kiss without even thinking about it.
It was clear that Zuko knew what he was doing. It had only taken a few seconds after his lips met hers that she realized that he was a very good kisser. Never had she thought that the mere locking of lips could ignite such a response from her. But then, it wasn’t just lips. His tongue was in her mouth, tangling with hers, demanding her participation. And she responded, letting her instincts guide her as she touched her tongue to his as well, their two oral muscles coiling together.
A growl escaped Zuko at her response, and he deepened the kiss further. A shiver ran through Katara as heat spread all the way down to her toes. Lust began coiling in her stomach as Zuko’s lips moved together with hers. Her mind was beginning to feel hazy, making it hard to think. She wasn’t even aware of her hands going from grasping his armor to sliding higher and gripping his shoulders.
Their kiss apparently was causing a reaction from Zuko as well, as somehow through the fog of desire clouding her mind, she became aware of something poking against her stomach. She realized what it was and her eyes flew open, but she was unable to break the kiss with Zuko’s hand holding the back of her head, preventing her from escaping, and her eyes drifted closed again as she got lost in the kiss.
Zuko applied pressure to her lower back, bringing her even closer until they were flush against each other. She found herself dipping back slightly, and her arms wrapped around his neck, holding him close as they continued to kiss. In response, Zuko’s hand went from her lower back to her hip, and he lifted her leg, pulling it up to wrap around his calf. Katara whimpered in response as she felt his member press against her core through their clothes, and she tightened her hold on him, grasping his hair in her grip as she felt her remaining leg grow weak at the knee.
Katara had no idea how long they kissed for, but she eventually became conscious of the fact that she needed to breathe. Zuko seemed to become aware of the fact that he required air as well and finally broke the kiss. Katara’s eyes remained closed for several seconds as she panted heavily, a deep blush coloring her cheeks. When she opened her eyes, she saw that Zuko was flushed too, also breathing heavily, his yellow eyes darkened to gold, filled with lust and desire.
They stared at each other for several long seconds before Katara became aware of where their hands were. One of his was still on the back of her head, keeping their faces close. His other one was still supporting her hip as her leg remained curled around his thigh. She could still feel his hardness pressed against her center, and suddenly became conscious of her own arousal. As for her own hands, one was tangled in his hair, and the other rested on his shoulder as her arms remained wrapped him, holding him close to her.
She let him go and lowered her leg, taking a few steps away from him. Zuko let her go, but from the look on his face, it seemed like that had been the last thing he wanted to do. It took several long moments for him to regain control of his breathing before he seemed to rein in his desires and let out a deep, calming breath.
“Very well, Katara,” he told her, his voice laced with lust. “We have a deal. For now, you can stay in my room. You can rest and get cleaned up, and I’ll come by later to collect on our deal.”
With that said, he walked past her. Katara remained where she was, rooted to the spot. She was only vaguely aware of Zuko knocking on the door and telling his soldiers to take her to his room for interrogation, but she paid them no mind. She was shaken by what had just happened, unable to believe that he had been able to trigger such a reaction from her with a mere kiss.
But gods, what a kiss it had been. Never would she have imagined that kissing someone could be like that, make her feel like that. Was that normal? She didn’t think so. She was currently more aroused now than she had ever been in her entire life, and a part of her hadn’t wanted the kiss to end, even though it had been Zuko, the enemy, that she had been kissing. His kiss had been all-consuming, addicting, and she found herself wanting to feel his lips against hers again. Which suddenly made her realize that the two of them would be doing a lot more than kissing later.
Slowly, she lifted a hand to her mouth and traced her lips with her fingertips. Oh, La, she was in trouble.
(A/N: In trouble in deed. In a desperate attempt to save Aang, Katara has gotten herself into quite the predicament. But do you see what I mean by this seeming like it might be dub-con at first but will instead end up being a seduction story. And just for the record, I don't want it to come across like Katara is whoring herself out, rather, I'm trying to have her come cross as being noble by doing whatever it takes to save the world. But it looks like what she initially thought was going to be a sacrifice or a chore is going to end up going very different than what she anticipated. Just how deep is she going to go? You'll have to stay tuned to find out. Things are really going to start heating up, and soon, so don't miss the next update, which, like always, will be every other Wednesday. I'll see you then.)
