“Stanford Pines?” Ford frowned at the black-suited man, who was this? Fiddleford had said something about someone visiting but this just seemed wrong somehow, why wouldn’t Fiddleford come? Only Ford knew the answer to that. His former partner wanted nothing to do with what Bill had convinced Ford was a good idea at the time…
“That’s me.” The man nodded and let out a sigh.
“This isn’t something we normally do but Director McGucket felt he at least owed you an explanation.”
An explanation for what? “What is this about?” This seemed a bit ominous and if it hadn’t been for Bill Ford might not have been wary before, he was now. His grip on his crossbow tightened almost painfully.
“I’m sorry to tell you this but your brother Stanley had an encounter with SCP- Three One Six.” What was an SCP 316, why would it have affected Stanley and how had it done so and how had Fiddleford become a director of whatever he was the director of? And then there was movement behind the suited man, Stanley. Only Stanley wasn’t looking at him with recognition...This was real, Stan didn’t look well. He looked washed out and almost like he was going to fall on his face at any second.
“What happened to Stanley?” The man sighed and handed Ford a paper.
“That explains his symptoms and whatnot. Just keep him out of trouble.” And the man walked off clearly in a huff and honestly this wasn’t something he’d been expecting when Stanley hadn’t shown up. If he was honest Ford had thought that Stanley was dead, it had hurt but not the way it should have, and that had sobered him more than anything else had in ten years. He glanced down at the paper to see what exactly he would have to deal with.
Effects set in over approximately 27 cumulative seconds of exposure, and gradually wear off over the next 24 hours. In addition to loss of color, most affected organisms experience the following:
Color-blindness
Lower body temperature
Low energy
Slowed movements
Monotonic, slurred speech
Inattentiveness
Short-term memory loss
Apathy
Lack of aggression
Negligible emotional response
Passive cooperation with instructions
Relative lack of desire to lie or deceive
Limited capacity for foresight or creative thought
After recovering from the effects of SCP-316, most subjects reported symptoms of nausea and depression for up to one week.
Well, at least his brother wouldn’t lie to him and would cooperate rather than fight him. But the other symptoms were worrying, ‘Lack of Aggression’, ‘Negligible emotional response’, and ‘Short Term Memory loss’
“Come on let's get you cleaned up, they could have done that but apparently they're too cheap for something so simple.” Stanley followed docilely and god wherever this SCP-316 was it had really gotten to Stanley and it worried Ford. at least the effects lasted only twenty-four hours and then after that he could give his journal to Stan and he could leave.
