Skelita was waiting on Jinafire after the Chinese dragon had agreed to attend Day of the Dead festivities with her. Jinafire was only going along in order to spend time with Skelita and learn more abotu her culture. She wasn't trying to claim Skelita as her mate. As Skelita was trying to see where she was, Jinafire decided to surprise the ghoul. "Where are you looking at? I'm over here." Jinafire softly spoke to the skeleton ghoul and Skelita turned to smile at her best friend. This chica is something else. She thought as she watched Jinafire stood beside her. That's probably why you like her. Her brain mocked her and Skelita paused, both mentally and physically. "What's wrong, ghoul?" Jinafire was worried about the way that Skelita had just paused all of the suddenly. Skelita felt guilty for making Jinafire worry about her.
"Nothing's wrong. I didn't mean to scare you." Skelita tells Jinafire and Jinafire huffed a bit.
"You didn't scare me." Jinafire was stubborn and Skelita knew that, but that didn't mean that her words had hurt her feelings for a quick moment. Unknown to Skelita, Jinafire had felt guilty for saying what she had just said to Skelita. Fuck! This is why other ghouls think that I'm mean. I didn't mean to hurt her feelings. Yes, Jinafire knew that her words had hurt Skelita's feelings. It was the way that Skelita had shook her head: slowly, but sadly. Sorry didn't come easily to Jinafire, but she knew that she had to apologize quickly to the ghoul. "Skelita, I--." The ghoul's name being called by her best friend made Skelita stop as she could hear the apology in Jinafire's voice. She turned to face Jinafire and Jinafire was struggling to say sorry to her. Sayiing sorry really hard for the chica. Skelita thought as she watched Jinafire struggle with the one word that could be simple be say, but to some ghouls and mansters, it was truly hard to say. "S-sorry." Jinafire had finally managed to say the word to Skelita.
"I know." Skelita spoke and before the dragon ghoul could lit something on fire, Skelita was quick to add another sentence to her words. "You didn't have to force yourself to say sorry. I could hear the apology when you called my name." Skelita explained to Jinafire and a blush covered her cheeks. Skelita knew that if she had skin and/or fur on her face, she knew that her cheeks would have been redder than Jinafire's cheeks, but because she was only a skeleton, her bones couldn't glow red.
"Seeing you upset because of me and my actions make me upset. I don't want you to cry over my stupid decisions." Jinafire tells Skelita and Skelita was very touched by the words of the Chinese dragon ghoul. "Anyway, the festivies for Day of the Dead are entertaining, no?" She asked Skelita and the giggle that she was rewarded with made Jinafire's heart beat very quickly and she gulped. I am not going to claim her as my mate right now. Now is not the right time. Jinafire told herself, but she could feel her self-control slowly start to disappear as she watched the skeleton ghoul that had unknowningly stole her heart and Jinafire knew that Skelita was going to keep her heart forever and a day and she knew that she wouldn't mind that as she knew that Skelita made her made her extremely happy, even if she was being her cold self.
