Hours ago, Scarlett had been captured by Destro as Cobra and G.I. Joe forces fought for the ownership of a single meteorite. Once captured, Scarlett was brought to Cobra's base and thrown into a holding cell. There, she fought an unknown assailant before realizing the person was a female. Better yet, she was wearing Duke's ring. Scarlett quickly called for a truce with the woman, who agreed. She then learned that the woman's name was Selena and she had helped Duke escape from the Cobra fortress. The women talked for a few hours, keeping their voices low. They discussed various escape plans as well as their own lives. Scarlett learned that the female's entire village was enslaved by Cobra and had virtually built the fortress. Selena learned about Scarlett's role in G.I. Joe as well as her relationship with Duke, which the woman greatly envied. However, before the two women could discuss anything else, four armed guards entered the cell and removed Selena. It was only in the last few minutes that the woman was returned to the cell.
"You're back," Scarlett spoke as she saw Selena slowly descend the steps.
"Yes. Something has happened, the man with the silver mask has usurped power from Cobra Commander. He wants us to feed the slaves so that they will have enough strength to build a statue in his honor. These bastards always want something," Selena snarled.
"That's great. Chrome Dome got what was coming to him. Perhaps we can get the others to riot?" Scarlett replied.
"They gave you a band."
"Unfortunately yes. What does this thing do?"
"I know not of it's name, but the headband with pulsating lights acts like a type of brain scanner. It can override one's motor skills. Cobra Commander made Duke fight his champion in the Arena of Sport," Selena replied.
"Did Duke get hurt?" Scarlett asked with concern. "He returned to headquarters a little banged up."
"He wasn't hurt in the arena. You looked worried. You must really care for him?"
"Yes," Scarlett spoke softly.
"Don't worry, Scarlett. You will see him again just as my people will be freed! This fortress will fall and the criminals will be punished. But we must hurry. Soon, the guards will return and take us to the Slave Pits. We'll have to feed the slaves there. It will be a perfect time to riot," Selena giggled. "Cobra won't know what hit them."
"Sounds like a plan. But how are we going to get by the guards with these bands?"
"With this," Selena spoke as she presented a rectangular strip of gold, no bigger or thicker than a stick of chewing gum.
"What will this do?" Scarlett inquired as she took the golden strip.
"If you concentrate hard enough, you can break the control of the band. It does cause excruciating pain at first though. But after a few seconds, you will be free of the band's control. All you have to do is slip it under the band, close to your forehead."
"No problem sister! I can take a little pain if it means that Cobra won't be controlling me," Scarlett said happily as she slipped the golden strip under the band. The redhead stood for a few seconds and nothing happened even though she had braced for the pain. "Nothing," she spoke.
"Wait," Selena winked.
"AGGGGGHHHHH!" Scarlett wailed as electricity flowed through the band. Waves of energy zoomed and zipped across the band as it glowed brightly. Of course, Cobra Commander wasn't the only one spying on Duke since Scarlett watched her beloved Duke fall for another woman. She saw him burn pictures and items that belonged to her when he learned of her death. Shortly after, Selena would seduce the man, and they would screw for hours.
