Pain
Pain. This was the only thing Starscream could feel. It was drowning him, clouding his processor and his spark, and making his vision blurry, a red haze shrouding everything. He was feeling dead inside, dead like all of the greyish, torns corpses littering the ground around him. A ground that he had once called his home. A ground that had saw him and his bondmate sparked and grew until they reached their adulthood. A ground that was now a mausoleum, a grave for thousands of his fellow seekers. Pain. He understood it most intimately, had been familiarized with it many times over the Vorns, before and during the war. He though he was used to it, that he could not be hurt anymore, that he had built an unbreakable shield against it, but he was wrong. Ho, how wrong was he! He knew nothing about pain! Nothing at all! He was like a sparkling playing with fires until today, blissfully unaware of the real meaning of that word, that notion. He knew nothing about pain, real pain, a pain that was not physical, or not even emotional, but that was wrenching his very spark, his mind, and tearing it into pieces of burning ruins. Vos was gone. His home, his city, the very core of his race, was gone, and all that remains now was the pain. Pain for the beautiful spires and floating towers of crystal that had been shattered to pieces, pain for the thousands of seekers slaughtered in their homes, mechs, femmes and sparklings indistinguishably. Pain for the surviving Seekers, whom were now resumed in two lonely forms walking the remains of their City, and will have to learn to live with the knowledge that they were alive while the rest of their kind, their entire race, was gone, destroyed by the greed, the fear of those who thought they are above the law itself. Above Primus. At that thought, the seeker's optics narrowed and a low hiss escaped his vocaliser, the pain slowly turning into a burning hatred, a terrible rage and a deep desire of revenge. Revenge for the atrocity committed this day in the name of 'security' by those who feared the seekers. feared them and their power, their strength and their resources. Starscream growled lowly and focused his pain, molded it as he was walking through the devasted remains of Vos, into a pure and unbreakable hatred, a rightful desire of revenge. Vos will be avanged, so he swore at this very moment, He'll... They'll achieve it even at the cost of their own lives. Behind him he heard a gasp and a low sob, and he turned. Thundercracker was kneeling beside something laying on the cround, and had carefully lifted a pile of debris. He fellt a chill of dread flare up his spinal unit when he saw a tiny winglet emerging from beneath the rubbles, and heard a faint whimper, a low, pained chirp. Thundercracker gathered what he had found into his arms and leaned on it, bending low, his wings trembling with silent sobs as he held the little being to his chest. It was a sparkling, a tiny seekerling, his color impossible to recognize under all that dirt and energon blood. It may be dark, probably black, with another shade of dark colouring. Thundercracker held it to his chest until it stopped moving and gone silent. Starscream could see the coloring fading into grey when it's spark faded finally and then... Thundercracker let out a spark wrenching cry of anguish, holding the tiny corpse close to his chest. He was the purest image of pain. Pain... That was all that remains of Vos, now... Starscream imprinted that image of his bondmate in his memory banks forever. So he will never forget why they were fighting and what they were fighting for. Because now they only had each other, and they couldn't count on anyone else, they were all that remains of Vos, so to speak... The last Seekers. -Fin-While AFF and its agents attempt to remove all illegal works from the site as quickly and thoroughly as possible, there is always the possibility that some submissions may be overlooked or dismissed in error.
