Disclaimer: Danny Phantom does not belong to me in any way, shape, or form. This fanfic is made for fun, I am not profitting from it at all. |
A/N: I'm going to say this right now, this is a Vlad/Danny fanfiction, and there will be graphic sexual content. I'm not going to say too much about it, but it will be there, and it will be intense. If this is going to bother you, then don't read it. You have been warned.
Chapter One
“But we're supposed to hate Masters!” Danny whined for the upteenth time from his position in the backseat. He could have ridden in front, aside from his mother, he was the only passenger in the car. However, distancing himself was an excellent guise for normal teenage behavior.
Spending any amount of time in the company of Vlad Masters, who Danny secretly knew to be Plasmius, was comparable to sawing off his own foot. The fact that his mother was forcing him to take time out of his spring break merely served to multiply his agony. If he got to miss school for it, the weekend trip might be bearable, but no. Plasmius had chosen his time well, anything to make the teen's life more miserable.
“Danny we've been through this.” Maddie's exasperated response came out in a huff. “Mr. Masters isn't my favorite person either right now, but this is just too good an opportunity to pass up. On top of that, he's one of my oldest friends."
“Right, like it's anything more than an excuse to see you.” And get in your pants, Danny silently added. “He probably won't go through with it anyway.”
“He sounded sincere Danny. The ghost problem is not going to go away any time soon, and you're father and I can't protect the town, let alone any neighboring cities, not with only the funds we have on hand now.” Maddie sent a pleading glance towards her son through the rear view mirror. “Vlad's offering to give us financial support if we update him on our current status. It's only one weekend Danny, one little business proposition. It's not going to kill anyone.”
Wanna bet? “Then why isn't dad here too? Why'd he only want to talk to you, and why did he insist you bring me?” There was no way in hell Danny would have let his mother be alone with his archenemy, not knowing what the man was capable of. Still, unless he wanted to raise suspicions about the identity of the Ghost Boy, he had to pretend to be a upset at being forced to tag along.
“Your Father....well, you know he gets a little overzealous about things like this. And on top of that, the two of them aren't exactly on the best of terms right now, and he didn't want to jeopardize this deal. Vlad's my friend too Danny, I've known him since college, he isn't going to try anything.”
“And I'm here because......?”
“Vlad wanted to see you sweetie.” Maddie grinned happily at her son. “You know how fond he his of you, his best friends son! He probably just wants to see how much you've grown.”
Hysterical laughter probably wouldn't have put his mother in the best of moods. Instead, Danny settled for an eyeroll. There was no way his mother was naïve enough to believe that bull. Granted, she didn't know anything about Danny Phantom or Plasmius, so she had no reason to suspect the animosity the two held for eachother, but she was far too smart to believe Vlad's feeble excuse.
“We're almost there now.” Maddie chirped excitedly as Vlad's mansion/castle came into view. “Danny please behave yourself. This could be a wonderful opportunity for Amity Park. Within a year or two, we might be able to rid ourselves of ghost entirely.”
“Fine.” The sigh Danny let out was not from frustration as much as it was from wishful thinking. A world without ghosts. A world where he wouldn't have to fight all the time. Maybe, there was a chance of someday reviving his badly decimated social life.
Social life...........
The young halfa shook his head violently, clearing those thoughts from his mind, banishing them to a far corridor where they would never be heard from again. Even though he knew it wouldn't help. Those thoughts always had a way of finding him, whenever he let his mind wander, whenever he found a moment of peace, even haunting him in his sleep. Thoughts that would change everything if he chose to acknowledge their presence.
“Danny?” Maddie called out to her son, snapping him out of his stupor as she unfastened her seatbelt and opened her door. “We're here sweetie.”
Danny didn't need to look out the window to know that Vlad would be standing outside his manor, waiting for them to arrive. The condescending grin was already firmly set on the older man's face.
“I'd like to knock his teeth out.” Danny grumbled, making sure both his mom and Vlad were well out of earshot.
“It's wonderful to see you again Maddie!” Vlad greeted Danny's mother with a friendly hug as she walked over to greet him. Danny noticed how she flinched slightly when Vlad wrapped his arms around her, but hugged him back lightly none-the-less. However, before Danny could fling himself out of the car and complain, Vlad broke the embrace as quickly as he started it. His attentions were now focused on Danny himself.
“And Daniel! You've grown so tall since I've last seen you.” The man held out his hand for Danny to shake, no signs of malice reflected in his grin.
People don't grow very much in a month, Danny thought as he politely shook Vlad's hand, making sure to squeeze as hard as possible as he thought about Phantom's most recent fight with Plasmius. He wasn't exactly sure what the older man had wanted from the new exhibit at the museum, but Phantom had stopped him all the same. The fight had seemed a little too easy, almost as if Plasmius had lost on purpose.
Vlad showed no sign of pain under Danny's firm grasp. The billionaire probably hadn't even noticed.
“Let's go inside so I can show you to your rooms!” Vlad broke his hand free from Danny's as he turned his attention back to Maddie. “After that long drive, you'll probably want to relax for a while before we get down to business.”
“Like I'd ever relax with you around.” Danny grumbled, only loud enough for Vlad to hear. Although the halfa saw Vlad's mouth twitch lightly, the billionaire said nothing. Instead, he merely strode ahead of the mother and son, leading them into his manor.
A/N: not too much going on just yet, but the plot will pick up soon. For this chapter, I just wanted to establish the plot a bit. More is on the way! Constructive criticism is welcome, but if you're childish enough to flame me, I probably won't pay any attention.
