Disclaimer: I do not own Kim Possible, nor any of the characters from it. I do not make any money from the writing of this story. |
Summary: What is consent? If your body says “yes” but your mind says “no,” which one do you listen to? This is the question Kim must face as she tries to cope with her new relationship with Shego, who now wants nothing to do with her.
A/N: This is the sequel to “Just Pulling Your Chain,” a Kim/Shego lemon I just recently published. While there is no sex in this one, it does contain nudity, as well as several concepts that some of you may find “sick and wrong.” Consider yourselves warned.

“FUCK YOU, PRINCESS!” Shego hollered before storming off.
“Shego, wait!” Kim called out after her. “Shego!”
Kim hobbled over to Shego, barely able to limp thanks to the soreness between her legs. The pale woman wasn’t in much better shape, not that it made the task any easier.
“Shego, hang on!” she called. “We need to… talk!”
Spinning around on her heels, Shego glared at Kim so intensely it stopped the cheerleader in her tracks.
“About what, Possible? About how you fucking violated me? Screw you,” she started walking again.
“You already did, thank you very much,” Kim shot back. “I was just trying to return the favor.”
Shego turned around again, nearly stabbing Kim in the chest with her index finger. “Did you ever stop to think that maybe that wasn’t what I wanted? That I needed my personal space?”
“And what about me?!” screamed Kim as she pointed to herself. “You violated my personal space! And I fucking liked it! Excuse me for thinking you might actually appreciate a favor!”
“That’s all life boils down to for you, isn’t it?” Shego raged. “A favor for a favor. Well guess what? I don’t need your fucking gratitude. I can take care of myself.”
“Why the hell do you keep shutting me out when it’s so obvious you want to let me in?!” Kim hollered as tears formed in her eyes. “Why do you have to make this so hard?!”
“Because we’re enemies!”
“Not after what just happened!”
Shego let out a frustrated growl and pulled at her hair. “Don’t you get it, Princess?! This doesn’t change anything between us! I won this round! And you took that away from me!”
“What the hell are you talking about?!”
The emerald thief took a deep breath before continuing. “I fucked you to prove that I was better than you. This was a dominance game, nothing more. But then you had to go and fuck me back!”
“What sick, perverted logic is that?!”
“You didn’t check to see if it was okay with me!” Shego yelled. “I talked you into getting fucked by me! I made sure you were willing! I’m not a fucking rapist, Kimmie! I don’t fuck people who scream!”
“I didn’t hear you complaining! You didn’t scream once!”
“Because your mouth was covering mine! Didn’t you hear me whimpering?!”
“I thought that meant you wanted me!”
“What sick, perverted logic is that?!” Shego retorted, throwing the redhead’s own words back at her.
Kim opened her mouth to reply, but her words caught in her throat.
Shego shook her head. “You know, you always were too moral for your own damn good. And it turns out you’re just as bad as the rest of us. You know who you remind me of, Princess?”
“Who?”
“Hego,” she spat before turning around and walking away, leaving a stunned Kim to figure out just what the hell she meant by that.
--
“What do you MEAN you just had sex with Shego?!”
“Wade, I—”
“No, no, let me get this straight. You, Kim Possible, a woman, slept with Shego, another woman?! Your archenemy no less?!”
“Well, I wouldn’t say there was much sleeping involved…” she mused before cringing at the horrible pun. “And she was never really my enemy. More like a rival.”
Kim was currently trying to explain to Wade where she’d been for the last several hours. She had always been a terrible liar, so she had decided to just come out with the truth. Wade was not taking it well.
“How the hell did this happen?!” the panicking computer genius demanded to know.
“I… don’t really know, actually,” Kim tried to explain, scratching her head. “It all happened so fast. You know how seductive Shego can be.”
“Uh, actually, Kim, I really don’t. I hardly ever leave my room, you know.”
She shrugged. “Well, at any rate, it happened. Now I need you to stop freaking out over this and try and find out where she ran off to.”
“So you can bring her in for doing this to you?”
Kim rolled her eyes and sighed. “So I can talk to her,” she said.
“WHAT?! After she raped you?!”
“She didn’t rape me,” the teen insisted. “She seduced me. In fact I….” She looked away. “I kinda… raped her.”
Wade was dumbstruck for a moment. Then he went back to screaming. “How the hell is THAT possible?!”
“I… misread her intentions a bit,” Kim explained. “I wouldn’t exactly call it ‘rape,’ per se, but she wasn’t exactly… consenting.”
“Uh, repeat that for me again?”
She sighed. “She wasn’t too keen on me returning the favor, okay? I kinda… backed her into a wall.” She looked down, ashamed. “And I didn’t stop because she was practically begging for it, or so it seemed at the time. Then she got all mad and….”
Her eyes began to well up with tears. “And she’s right, Wade!”
“WHAT?! How can you even think that?!”
“Well, how else do you explain it? I raped her, Wade. I screwed her without her permission! I just assumed that she wanted it! Do you know how horrible that is?”
“Well it’s not like Shego’s any—”
“YES SHE IS, WADE!” Kim shouted abruptly. “She checked to see if I was okay with it first! She talked me into it! I just forced myself on her!”
Wade sighed. “I didn’t want to do this, Kim, but you’ve forced my hand. I’m calling in the one person who can talk you out of this craziness.”
“Who?”
“I’m calling Monique.”
Kim raised an eyebrow. “Aaaaand what makes you think I wouldn’t be okay with that? Hell, I’d rather talk to her about this than you.”
“Frankly I’d rather you talk to her too. I’m not exactly… experienced in these sorts of matters.”
“And Mo is?”
“Okay, you got me there. But she’ll still be a bigger help than me.”
“Alright, Wade. Put her on.”
A few clicks of Wade’s keyboard later and his image was replaced with Monique’s. “What’s up, girlfriend?” she greeted.
Kim spent the next several minutes filling her in on the sitch. What unnerved her was that throughout the whole explanation, Monique didn’t interrupt once or demand that she stop. She just nodded and occasionally jotted down a couple of notes. When she was finished Kim looked at her best female friend expectantly.
“Well, that really is fucked up, girlfriend. Though I gotta admit, you always did strike me as a lesbian.”
“What?!”
The ebony girl shrugged. “Hey, I’m good at readin’ people. You just gave off that vibe.”
Kim stared at her with a puzzled expression for several moments. “Mo, you’re not… Gay, are you?”
“What?! Where’d that come from?”
“Well, I dunno… I just heard once that Gay people have this ‘Gaydar’ that tells them who’s Gay and who’s not.”
“Kim, let me ask you a question.”
“Um, okay.”
“Am I goin’ off on your ‘Gaydar’ right now?”
“How would I even know if you were? I don’t know how to work this thing! I’ve only come to accept the fact that I’m Gay in the last couple hours!”
Monique laughed. “It’s impossible to tell unless it’s in person, Kim. It has to do with the vibes you give off. To be honest I’m pretty sure I’m straight, but then again, most Gay people are before they ‘discover themselves.’ So who knows?”
Kim shrugged. “Okay, so you’ve got a point, Monique. Still, how could you tell?”
“Well, for one thing you only seem to be interested in effeminate guys as far as attraction to the opposite sex goes. Josh, Hirotaka, hell even Ron.”
“What the hell is that supposed to mean?”
“Think about it. Josh was a sensitive artist type. Instead of playin’ in the Homecoming game, he’d be paintin’ the banner for the dance. Now I’m not gonna say those aren’t masculine traits, but they sure as hell ain’t traditional masculine traits. Plus, he’s not really handsome so much as he is ‘pretty.’ His nails are better manicured than mine, girlfriend!”
Kim was too dumbstruck to reply. Monique took her silence a signal to continue.
“Then there’s Hirotaka. You remember the little competition we had over him.”
Kim did remember. And to think, she wasn’t even interested in the guy until she saw his martial arts skills.
“And then there’s Ron.”
That snapped Kim out of her silence. “What about Ron?”
“Kim, the boy cooks better than you. Not that that’s extremely difficult…. Hell, Rufus could cook better than you….”
“Monique….”
Monique chuckled. “Girl, you are just too fun to mess with. I can see why Shego likes to tease you so much.”
“Yeah, well, the teasing kinda got out of hand this time. Let’s talk about that later. Now what were you saying about Ron?”
“Just that he’s always occupied the female role in your relationship. Lettin’ you boss him around and stuff like that.”
“I did not boss him around!”
Monique just raised an eyebrow.
Kim looked embarrassed.. “Okay, so maybe I was a little demanding of him at times. But he never said anything!”
“And that’s my point, Kim. He let you take the lead. He’d rather you be the man in the relationship.”
“So you’re saying I was attracted to him because he let me wear the pants?”
“Well he was always losin’ his if you remember,” Monique quipped. “But no. It’s because he was always there for you despite the fact that you’re so domineering not that many people can get close to you.”
“What do you mean?”
“Exactly what I said. How many close friends do you have, Kim? Be honest.”
“Well… uh… there’s Ron, obviously…. And Wade…. And you of course….” She rubbed her left temple, trying to concentrate. “And… that’s it, I guess. Wow. Never knew I had so few friends.”
“You have hundreds of acquaintances,” said Monique. “That counts for something. But as far as the people you let in your inner circle, yeah, basically it’s just Ron, Wade and myself. Don’t worry about it. With the kind of work you do, it’s good to only have a close circle of people to confide in.”
“Okay, that makes sense… I guess…. Still, how does any of this prove that I’m Gay? I mean, losing my virginity to another woman and liking it is pretty much a dead indicator that I am, but what the hell does my dating feminine guys have to do with it?”
“That’s why I never brought it up to you before, Kim. Up until now I just suspected. But now that you’ve told me, I know my hunch was correct.”
“Oh…. Okay, then. So what the hell am I gonna do about this? I mean, I raped her, Monique. How the hell am I supposed to apologize for that?”
“Well, you’ll have to figure that out on your own. But I can help you out by givin’ you a different perspective on what happened.”
“Really? How?”
“First off, you didn’t rape her.”
“Yes, I—”
“Did she scream?”
“Well… no, not exactly, but that sorta had to do with the fact that my mouth was covering hers.”
“Did she try to bite your tongue to get you to stop?”
“No….”
“Did she light up her plasma powers and shoot you across the room?”
Kim shook her head.
“Then you didn’t rape her.”
“Wait, how does that—”
Monique cut her off. “Kim, from what you’ve told me about Shego, if she didn’t want this to happen, she’d have made damn sure it didn’t. That means killing or at the very least seriously injuring you. Now aside from a little soreness between your legs, are you hurt right now?”
“My head kinda hurts….”
“Yeah, ‘cause you banged it against a stone wall when you came,” Monique retorted. “By the way, we seriously need to have a talk about how close our friendship is if you’re tellin’ me stuff like that.”
“No, I mean you’re giving me a headache with all this analysis stuff.”
“Try and be smarter than Ron here, Kim.”
“Hey!”
Monique shrugged. “Quit askin’ stupid questions and maybe I won’t insult you like that.”
Kim just grumbled.
“Now, do you know why she accused you of raping her?”
“No…. Why?”
“Come on, girl; you’re smarter than this. Who did you say she compared you to again?”
“Hego. What’s that got to do with anything, though?”
“Tell me: how close is that woman to her family?”
“She avoids them like the plague.”
“Exactly. Now on a related subject, what did she do when Drakken offered to ‘be there for her’ because they were an ‘evil family?’”
“She tried to shoot him with her plasma.”
“Are you startin’ to see a pattern here, Kim?”
“Not really….”
Monique sighed and rested her face in her palm before meeting Kim’s gaze once more. “Look, I’m sure you’ve noticed at one point or another that Shego is the kind of person who pushes away the only people who seem to care about her.”
“Well yeah, I know that; hell, I even said that to her.”
“And you still couldn’t figure out why she accused you of raping her?!”
“It’s not that, Monique. I get what you’re saying, it’s just… why is she like that? What happened to her?”
“You’re gonna have to find that out yourself, girl. I may be really good at analyzin’ people, but I’m not a mind reader.”
Kim sighed. “I guess you’re right, Monique. Now if only I could get you to talk to her instead….” She rubbed her chin as she pondered that.
“Aw hell no, girlfriend! This is your problem. I’m just givin’ you a second opinion.”
The teen smiled. “I know, Mon. Just pulling your chain.”
“You better be.”
“Later, Mo.”
“Good luck, Kim,” Monique said before her image disappeared from the Kimmunicator screen. Wade appeared a moment later.
Kim raised her eyebrow suspiciously. “Were you listening to that, Wade?”
“Yeah. Why, you expect any differently from me by now?”
She laughed and shook her head in amusement. “I guess not. So have you found Shego yet?”
“Yeah. She’s at another lair. I managed to triangulate her position when she sent a message out to Drakken letting him know not to come back to the desert lair.”
Kim nodded to show that she understood. “Any chance of a ride?”
“Already on it.”
“Thanks, Wade. You rock.”
The supergenius gave as much of a bow as his seated position would allow. “I do try,” he said humbly. “Though if I could just say one thing, Kim?”
“Yeah, what’s that?”
“I think this is completely and utterly crazy.”
Kim smiled. “Yeah, but since when have I ever done anything sane?”
--
The loud smack of a fist impacting leather resonated throughout the spacious cavern, accompanied by the harsh, ragged breathing of the gym’s sole occupant.
Decked out in a black sports bra and green sweat pants with her midnight hair drawn back in a ponytail, Shego was in the middle of a workout that involved beating the living tar out of a punching bag. With no living targets on which to unleash her fury, she was forced to settle for taking her anger out on inanimate objects.
Not that she minded. One of the reasons she started studying martial arts was so that she would have a constructive outlet for the anger that had threatened to devour her insides as a teenager. It didn’t matter what she hit, as long as she hit something. Shadow boxing was okay, but there was nothing quite as cathartic as feeling the impact of one’s strikes against a hard surface.
She continued to circle the suspended sack of sand, launching a quick one-two punch combo followed by a vicious spinning backhand that would have easily snapped the wrist of a less experienced fighter. Not content to stop there, she struck the leather with her open palm, pushing it several feet away from her.
The trick of this exercise was to not hit the bag while it was close to you. You had to give your punches room to gain momentum. Of course, it was just as silly to attempt to strike at the bag while it was hurtling back in your direction, so footwork was the key.
Without even having to think about it, Shego cart-wheeled in a quarter circle so that she was to the side of her imaginary opponent. She lashed out with a lightning quick snap kick like a striking cobra, which diverted the bag’s path yet again.
Shego then leapt back quickly and took a couple of steps forward before dropping to the floor and sliding under the swinging bag, her knees leading the charge while her face missed the sack by mere millimeters. Now on the other side, she quickly sprung back to her feet and executed a devastating flying roundhouse that caused a shower of sand to erupt from the newly torn bag.
Not even coughing as the dust assailed her, Shego drew back a lit fist and disemboweled the now useless sack. She then looked around in search of another victim.
She found one in the form of a plastic and foam replica of a man that looked like a cross between a scarecrow and a crash test dummy. He was one of several training dummies in the well-equipped gym, all staggered with varying distances between them. She preferred this setup to rows and columns because it more accurately conveyed the dynamic nature of facing multiple opponents. Well, opponents who didn’t move, anyway. Though at the speed Shego fought, the vast majority of her opponents may as well have been stationary dummies.
Her clawed fingers found purchase in the easily torn vinyl, tearing open the “man’s” chest and affording her sufficient grip to snatch the dummy out of the ground and hurl it into the nearest set of inanimate enemies. The force of the throw shattered the thin plastic posts on which they were mounted and knocked them down like a set of bowling pins.
Before the makeshift projectile even made contact, however, Shego was already engaging the next set of enemies. A trio of jabs was followed quickly by a backhand swipe that took off one dummy’s head, while a vicious spin kick toppled another. Whirling around to face the next target, she hammered her twin fists into its chest, firing a quick concussive blast on impact that sent it sailing into another one of its comrades.
This was not smooth combat. It was random, chaotic, ferocious destruction. But it was not clumsy either. It was a controlled rage; a wild display of emotion that over the years Shego had learned to harness and use to her advantage. What she lacked in grace, she more than made up for with speed, power, and sheer aggression.
Dashing forward, Shego leapt skyward and flipped, sinking her talons into the head of an unfortunate dummy halfway through. She landed flawlessly on the soles of her feet and used the momentum from her flip to hurl the disembodied “head” forward into that of another target, where they collided like a pair of cue balls.
Shego kicked off the chest of a nearby dummy and backflipped through the air until she was in the midst of another group. She raised her arms to her sides and spun around like a tornado, rending the heads from all of the dummies unfortunate enough to be caught in the destructive cyclone.
Still surrounded, the pale warrior leapt into the air and performed a side-splits kick that would have torn the ligaments of a normal human. The impact of her twin strikes caused the decapitated dummies on each side of her to fly back several yards, sticks and all. Landing in a crouch, she spun around and swept the remaining dummy’s post with her leg, toppling him to the ground like a cut tree.
She continued the momentum from her spin and stood to face the final dummy. She paused for just a moment to allow a fiendish smirk to paint her face.
Utilizing a move that she had shamelessly stolen from Dragonball Z, Shego stretched her arms out in front of her, stacking one on top of the other and bending her palms outward, then fired a plasma bolt point blank through the dummy’s chest. The green fireball continued for several feet before finally impacting against the steel wall and dissipating.
There was no barrier to contain her anger, though. The consequence of having no boundaries, however, was that it was frighteningly easy to get to the point where there was nothing left to destroy. The sudden lack of targets forced her to stand there, breathing heavily not from the exertion, but rather the frustration that was pushing her deeper into her primal rage. Inactivity allowed her heartbeat to return to normal, and the fog surrounding her mind disappeared, bringing with it thoughts that she had been trying to avoid.
Shego was never one to bottle things up. She always vented her feelings through some sort of explosion, be it physical or emotional. Or both in some cases. But there were some things she would rather not think about. Surprisingly enough her thoughts weren’t about Kim, though the confrontation they’d had earlier was what dredged up the very unpleasant memories.
There were many rumors still circulating as to why exactly she had left Team Go, though thankfully none of them were anywhere near the truth. If they knew what really happened….
Feelings of weakness assaulted her and Shego fought back, rushing up to the wall and denting it considerably with the kinetic enhancer surrounding her lit fist. Every emotion that she could have sworn she had worked out long ago laid siege to her mind, tearing a feral scream from her throat and forcing tears to her eyes. The fierce battle cry was immediately followed by a series of wild yet amazingly disciplined punches, her glowing fists working in tandem to leave a hole in the wall to match the one in her heart.
Digging her talons into the steel, the raging villainess shredded the thin layer of metal like tissue paper, revealing the cold hard stone underneath. Hot tears stung her eyes and poured down her cheeks into the corners of her screaming mouth. She pummeled the barrier over and over, now lost in her primal fury. Her powers fluctuated wildly, shearing and heating and blasting the hard rock at random.
The assault ended when Shego suddenly took several steps back and placed her hands several inches apart and began to concentrate. After a few moments, a glowing green sphere materialized and began to expand steadily. The last time she had done this had been at the International Villain’s Convention a few years ago, when Stoppable received Dr. D’s evil. She focused all of her anger, all of her hate, all of her pain, and all of her unrestrained emotion into the effort of preparing her most powerful attack.
After several minutes of channeling her absolute fury at the situation into the hateful green orb, which by now was about the size of a beach ball with glowing arcs of green electricity emanating from its spherical form, Shego let it loose, hurling it into the miniature cavern she had carved out of the rock. Rather than send chunks of stone flying back at her, however, the energy ball burrowed deep into the mountain inside which this base was built, hollowing out a circular tunnel before exploding like a miniature nuclear bomb about fifty yards away.
Doubled over and panting, Shego paused to catch her breath before examining her handiwork. The superheated plasma had vaporized everything in its path and left a thick coating of glass along the walls of the newly formed tunnel. Despite only being about three feet in diameter, the orb’s heat was so staggeringly high that it left a tunnel twice that size in its wake.
“Well, that’s one way to do an expansion,” Shego remarked slyly as she admired the result of her tantrum. Letting it out really was the way to go. She didn’t know how people could live letting all that stress build up inside of them without any sort of release system. Then again not very many people had her level of stress.
Still, she felt better now. She was able to think more clearly about the situation without her emotions getting in the way. Sighing contentedly, she turned around and walked out of the gym to do just that.

One would think that the incessant noise reverberating inside the helicopter cabin would be sufficient to distract one from thinking, but surprisingly it had the opposite effect. Even without the noise-blanking earphones that allowed Kim to communicate with the pilot, who was respectfully quiet as she could see that the girl needed time to herself, the steady, rhythmic thrum of the beating chopper blades was relaxing in a way that only an adventurer like Kim would understand. The power of the engine that kept this hollow metal frame in the air made her feel at ease, giving her the perfect opportunity to sort out her feelings about this whole sitch.
Meanwhile, underneath a waterfall/makeshift shower on the tropical island lair, a certain pale-skinned villainess was examining her own feelings on the events of earlier today. The icy sensation of the cold water beating down on her nude form gave her a sharp mind with which to analyze the situation.
‘Why did I do that to her?’ both women thought simultaneously, even though they were separated by several miles.
For Shego, the answer was obvious. ‘Doy, because you like pushing people away, Shego. You’ve got it down to an art form,’ she thought self deprecatingly. It wasn’t her fault, she reminded herself. It was all Hego’s fault. If he hadn’t done that to her…. No, she caught herself. She wasn’t going to think about that lest she level the entire lair with the rage she felt regarding it.
Kim was having a harder time answering herself, if only because she tended to over-analyze to the point where she was always second guessing her conclusions. She supposed that part of it had to do with her impulsiveness and deep-rooted desire to repay her perceived debts, which was what had kept her “favor” system running for so long. But there was something else she was missing here. She hadn’t done that to Shego just because she wanted to return the favor, had she? No, she realized. She wanted to do it because she couldn’t resist the challenge of getting Shego to finally submit to her. It was the same, twisted reason Shego had done it to her to begin with.
‘That wasn’t the only reason you did it to her though, was it?’ thought Shego, whose mind had been pondering the same subject. ‘That’s just what you told her.’ What Shego said and what she meant were rarely one and the same. It was just part of her personality to be mysterious and vague. Made it harder for people to get close. ‘Is that why you did it then? To confuse the hell out of her?’
If Kim could have heard the thought, she would have at least agreed that that was the result. But she couldn’t read Shego’s mind. It would be nice if she could, though. Not that she was even thinking about that.
Instead her mind was focused on the revelation she’d just had. It really was a dominance game, wasn’t it? Their already twisted rivalry pushed to a whole new perverted level. “Sick and wrong” didn’t even begin to describe it.
‘Still… I don’t regret the stuff leading up to that,’ both women thought simultaneously, betraying just how similar they were.
Kim had enjoyed being fucked by Shego. It was invigorating, liberating, and breathtaking all at the same time. It was like nothing she had ever felt before. The freaky thing was, she wanted to feel it again.
Shego admitted to herself that there had been more factors at work than simply asserting her dominance over Kim. She’d developed a bit of a soft spot for the little redhead over the years and had been known to go out of her way to make sure that Kim survived until the next fight. Fighting Kim was fun. She hated to admit it, but the only times she truly felt alive were when she was trying to beat the girl senseless.
‘Doy, what a cliché,’ she thought as she rolled her eyes. ‘There’s gotta be more to it than that.’
And there was. She wasn’t just a cat playing games with a mouse like she did when she faced other, lesser opponents; they were both cats. Kim could keep up with her, and Shego respected that. Kim gave her purpose. Shego appreciated that on some subconscious level. They were equals.
But they were also rivals.
‘She probably hates me,’ they thought in unison once more. Had they heard each other, they probably would have tied at the ‘jinx’ game. They tied at pretty much everything.
‘But it’s better that way,’ Shego thought bitterly.
‘But I won’t let her leave until she understands,’ Kim told herself.
And with those two, conflicting thoughts, each woman decided the matter was settled.
How wrong they were.
--
The blip on the radar map displaying an approaching helicopter shouldn’t have surprised Shego. She knew Kimmie would come after her eventually. It also shouldn’t have surprised her that she could just make out the dot on the horizon that was heading straight towards her. The girl—no, woman, she corrected herself—always did have a way of getting places in seemingly no time at all.
‘But does she have to do it while I’m in the shower?’ she complained mentally while hastily shoving her PDA back into the leg pouch of the catsuit that currently sat on the bank of the stream at the base of the tiny waterfall. The cheerleader always did seem to pick the worst times to drop in.
‘Then again,’ she though mischievously as an impish grin spread across her face, ‘She’s already seen me naked.’
With that thought in mind, she resumed bathing in the crystal clear mineral water that originated from a spring a few miles away. It was one of her favorite things about this particular lair. Even if it was notoriously easy to find. But then again, they all were.
And besides, she admitted silently to herself, a part of her was happy to see Kim.
‘Damn it, Kimmie, when did I start to like you?’ she wondered. ‘This would be so much easier if you never wanted to see me again. I could live with that. But you probably wanna talk and… well, I'll do my best, but I hate talking.’
Realizing that Kim didn’t possess telepathic powers, Shego decided to wait until Kim landed to actually communicate with her. She tapped her foot, creating ripples in the shallow water. As the helicopter drew closer, her impatience grew.
“So jump already,” she said as though she thought Kim would actually hear her. “Do that thing you do where you parachute from a ridiculously low altitude yet still come out of it fine.”
As the helicopter neared, Shego found herself growing increasingly worried. “Oh, you’ve gotta be…. SHIT!”
Shego barely ducked in time for a palm frond to whiz over the space that her head had just occupied. More debris followed, and eventually Shego just retreated behind the waterfall, waiting until the helicopter left to come out and actually try talking to Kim. It wasn’t that she had a problem with the pilot sneaking a peek; she just feared he might crash when he caught sight of her naked.
Okay, so she had a rather high opinion of her body. But dammit she was justified!
Eventually the man-made windstorm ceased and Shego emerged from the wet cavern, grinning lecherously like she had mere hours ago, right before everything had suddenly spiraled out of control.
“How’s it goin’, Princess?”
“Shouldn’t I be smiling like that? You’re the one who’s naked after all.”
She laughed. “I missed your remarks, Princess. I really did.”
“But we’ve only been apart for a couple of hours.”
“It feels like years without you!” Shego intoned in an overly dramatic manner, bringing the back of her hand to her forehead and arching her back just enough to achieve the required effect.
Kim rolled her eyes. “We need to talk,” she said.
Shego sighed. “Yeah. We do.”
They stared at each other for several moments, neither daring to move for fear that if they even blinked, the other would be gone.
Suddenly Kim spoke. “Could you at least put some clothes on?” she requested.
“Why?” Shego asked as she broke out into a broad grin. “Don’t like whatcha see?”
The younger woman blushed. “No! It’s not that! I do like what I see! A lot! And it’s a little… distracting.”
Shego snorted. “Well that’s obvious, given that your nipples are harder than mine even though I’m the one who just got finished bathing in cold water.”
More blood rushed to Kim’s face, which actually allowed her to calm down somewhat as it diverted the flow away from her throbbing clit, which had swelled in response to the very sexy sight of Shego nude.
The exotic female shook her head and stalked over to her fallen catsuit, sliding into it with little difficulty given her now slick form. It did, however, cause a few… sounds that elicited giggles from a certain redhead.
“You shut up!” she ordered, pointing a finger in Kim’s direction. “It’s not funny!”
“It’s a little funny,” protested Kim, squeezing her thumb and index finger together.
Shego grumbled. “So are ya ready to talk or what?”
“Ready when you are, Squeaky.”
“Why you—” Shego began and then paused, placing a finger to her chin. “Actually, that was pretty good. I’m rubbin’ off on you, I see.”
Kim looked as though she was prepared to make another crack before she put her hand up and shook her head. “Nope, that one’s too easy. Even for me.”
“Eh, I was setting you up for that one anyways. Would’ve been funnier if it were unintentional. Good call.”
“Thanks.”
The ease with which they were conversing gave both women hope that maybe their relationship was not over. Maybe, just maybe, they could make things work.
“You know I learned something in my Chemistry class the other day,” Kim began, not having anything else to compare this to. “Sodium and Chlorine are both deadly poisons. Put together, they make salt. But do you know what has to happen first?”
“Not really. I was never one of those bookworm types.”
“When the molecules start combining, it causes an explosion,” Kim explained. “A huge, sometimes even gigantic explosion. But when it’s all over we have something that can be used to preserve foods, melt snow, and add flavor to our favorite meals, among other things. We get something that helps us live out of two things that can kill us. Isn’t that cool?”
Realizing that Kim had just used a very clever analogy, Shego could think of only one thing to say.
“You know, you always were too damn smart for your own good, Pumpkin.”
“Hey, I'm the daughter of a Rocket Scientist and a Brain Surgeon. It’s genetics.”
“So you’re saying now that we’ve survived the explosion, we can work this out?”
Kim smirked. “Anything’s possible for a Possible.”
“Yeah, but what about me?”
“Well, you’re pretty much my equal, so I guess that applies to you too.”
The barest hint of a smile graced Shego’s face at the compliment. “Let’s go sit down,” she suggested suddenly.
The waterfall that Shego had been using to bathe fed into a stream that terminated about twenty yards to the West where it plummeted off the ledge into the Pacific Ocean. Shego had chosen the spot because she liked the view. With the sun now setting, it was truly spectacular.
‘And sickeningly romantic, ugh,’ Shego thought before allowing a smile to paint her features. ‘Then again, the present company is awfully nice. This just makes it better.’
They stared off into the distance for several minutes, letting their feet dangle carelessly over the ledge to satisfy their never-ending need for adventure. Finally Kim spoke up.
“So…” she began.
“Mm?”
“What did you mean when you compared me to Hego?”
Shego sighed and dipped her head. “That shouldn’t have slipped out, Princess,” she said as though she were angry at herself. “But now I suppose I should tell you the whole story since you’ll probably have your Nerdlinger friend dig it all up for you anyway.”
Kim was about to protest but decided against it. That was exactly what she would do.
“They aren’t my real brothers, you know,” Shego said after a moment. “I was adopted.”
“Well there’s a surprise,” Kim ribbed.
Shego chuckled. “Yeah, but they weren’t always idiots. In fact I… I used to look up to Hego. A lot.”
She sighed. “What I’m about to tell you is very personal, Princess. Word of this gets out to anybody, and I'll be wearin’ your skin to the next Villains Convention.”
“Ewwww,” Kim grimaced. “Can you please not put it like that?”
“Fine. I'll skin you alive if you tell anyone about this. This is above top secret, you understand?”
Kim nodded.
“Alright then,” she began. “Like I said, I used to look up to Hego. He was my hero. Noble, proud, honorable—basically a male version of you. I all but worshipped the ground he walked on.”
She looked down. “Then one night everything changed.”
“I wasn’t always so rough around the edges. When I first got my powers, the other kids used to tease me. It got to me quite a bit. So I used to hole up in my room and cry. That night Hego went up to check on me, and….”
“And?”
“I kissed him.”
“You WHAT?!”
“I didn’t stutter, Princess. I said I kissed that big blue dolt. Wasn’t my real brother anyway, so what was the damage?”
“Why?!”
“Hey, like I said, he wasn’t always such a bumbling idiot. You should have seen him back then. He was gorgeous! Plus, you try getting a bunch of strange new powers and a whole new skin tone that the other kids at high school just love to tease you about and tell me how vulnerable you feel.”
The bewildered expression left Kim’s face and was replaced with one of compassion. “Okay, I guess I can understand that, but… it was just a kiss, right? Nothing else?”
Shego snickered. “Oh, we went a lot further than just a kiss. I lost my virginity that night.” She sighed. “I’d been fantasizing about him for awhile anyway, and I figured hey, what the hell? I was willing and so was he, and we weren’t really related, so I gave it up. I was in heaven.”
She looked away. “But I woke up in hell.”
“The morning after we slept together Hego started freaking out. He was worried what the press might think of our little ‘affair,’ as he called it. He didn’t want to be caught up in the middle of a sex scandal, which I could never understand and still don’t. Then he accused me of taking advantage of him, which I wouldn’t stand for and I called his big blue ass on it. I told him we were both consenting adults and what happened, happened for a reason. Then he called me a ‘harlot’ who tricked him into bed.”
She held up a lit fist. “Naturally I didn’t respond well to that.”
“After that we both started acting different. I became more closed off since the blue fucker obviously wanted nothing to do with me, while he went into denial. We both put up our own little walls instead of dealing with the issue like we should have. So I became the cold, sarcastic bitch while Hego imitated the characters in his comic books. It eventually led to a big blowout that effectively separated the team.”
She looked at Kim. “I’m telling you this because I’m hoping it’ll help you to understand why I have such a hard time letting people in. It’s because I’m afraid they’ll stab me in the back when I need them the most. When you… fucked me like that, without checking to see if I was okay with it, you made me feel vulnerable. And I didn’t like that. At all.”
Kim just stared at her for several moments. Finally she gathered the courage to speak. “I’m so sorry.”
Shego waved it off. “It’s okay,” she sighed. “I was just trying to push you away so you wouldn’t get close enough to hurt me. Kinda had to grasp at straws there.”
“But I would never hurt you,” Kim insisted, which prompted Shego to raise an eyebrow.
Catching her mistake, the redhead blushed. “I mean I would never try to hurt you emotionally. Not that I could physically either. You’re pretty tough, Shego. That’s one of the things I’ve always admired about you.”
The thief smiled. “And your persistence is one of the things I always found so frustrating about you,” she jibed. “But you could say you’ve grown on me to the point where it’s also one of the things I admire about you. You never give up, Princess. That’s what I like about you.”
“You don’t know when to quit either,” remarked Kim, causing both of them to smile reminiscently at a memory that usually inspired a painful grimace. But things were different now.
“This doesn’t mean we’re in love.”
“I know.”
“I’m not gonna give up crime for your sweet ass either.”
“I know.”
“Just because we had sex doesn’t mean—”
“Shego!” Kim interrupted. “I know. And I don’t care. I don’t love you, at least not yet. But I like you, and… I want to see where this goes. Don’t you?”
Shego chuckled. “Yeah, Pumpkin, I do.”
“We don’t have to be girlfriends or lovers or anything like that. We can be….” She concentrated for a moment. “‘Enemies with benefits!’” she decided.
A snort was Shego’s reply. “Where the hell did you come up with that?!”
“I dunno, it just… seemed to fit. You have to admit it’s pretty clever.”
“I don’t have to admit it,” Shego challenged with a smirk, before continuing, “but I will. For you.”
“You know how I say I can do anything, Shego?”
“Yeah?”
“Well as of this moment, I'll do anything for you. I may not love you, but I'll still promise you that.”
“That means a lot, Pumpkin, even if it is sickeningly romantic and super cheesy. It’s the thought that counts.”
Kim smiled, understanding that the crass remark was Shego’s way of saying the feeling was mutual.
“You know, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful—”
“Don’t you DARE say it, Kimmie!”
“Kiss,” she finished before deciding to put her words into action.
Shego leaned in without hesitation, having passed the awkward stage a long time ago. While the kiss wasn’t the stuff of fairy tales, it did feel special. And that was all that mattered.
The End
--
There! One conflict resolved, a whole new can of worms opened. I will be writing a sequel to this, tentatively titled “Enemies With Benefits.” For those of you who don’t know what Kim’s remark is referring to, it’s a nod to the first KiGo story I ever wrote, “The Silence” (it’s not on this site, though; follow the link in my profile to my fanfiction.net account). Chapter 8 had the same title. I haven’t updated that story in close to 8 months though, so don’t get too involved in it…. ;)
Monique’s “pretty boy” argument is pretty much lifted straight out of “Revelations of Destiny” by Lord Kellendross, though in that story Kim came to those conclusions on her own. In fact, I drew heavy inspiration from that story when characterizing Monique here. I highly recommend checking out that story as it is an epic that rivals “Mind, Body and Soul.” It has my vote for “Best Story” at this year’s Fannie Awards.
I spent a LONG time editing the sequence where Shego vents her frustrations, trying to find just the right words to convey the actions within. The first sentence of that scene is my pride and joy, having received the most edits. I found just writing that scene to be quite cathartic, as I’ve had some stress in my life lately that I needed to let out.
The scene where Kim and Shego both try to sort out their feelings is the reason I don’t write in third-person omniscient very often; it’s freaking confusing! Hopefully I did a good job, though.
The Hego/Shego incest bit was inspired by a challenge on KP Slash Haven that appeared a few months back and was promptly buried. But here it LIVES! I think it’s safe to say that I’m the only one who’s actually written that version of Shego’s background into a story. Keep the hate mail to a minimum, please! lol
