Katara sat in tent with Aang as he sleep on in feverish dreams. The injury he sustained from Azula despite the fact that it was mostly healed, it still left him weak and fevered. The Avatar gang felt depressed and venerable . None more then Katara, she cradled Aangs head in her lap and cried most nights. It had only been two weeks but Appa had taken them fare from the fallen Ba Sing Se now the camped by a large lake.

Sakka was brooding by the lake trying to catch a fish for dinner, but the lake was swift and deep his lines were sweep away and he could not throw a spear hard enough to trap a fish. Toph new Sokka heart was not really in to fishing she heard the truth in his grunts of anger and pain, Sokka missed and feared for Suki. Since the battle with Ty Lee and Mai and learning that the Kyoshi Warriors where beaten had made Sokka feel like an icy stone hand was crushing his heart.

Toph Signed heavily of the gang she was the only one with a semi-level head. She sat at close to the edge of the lake. The young Earthbending master was deep in thought, when several events happen in less then a moment of her life. She felt a great battle start some were down the river there was at least three Earthbenders in it and it was intense, then the ledge she was on gave why.

Sokka scream out fo his sister as he Dived desperately reach to grab Toph as the young girl screamed in true, horrifying fear. Bit Sokka was to far and the river sweep the her away be for ether of the water tribe siblings could help. Katara stood in stunned horror as she watch the young girl sweep away but it lasted only a moment. Because Sokka grab her arm and half Pulled half dragged her on to Appa’s back as he screamed “COME ON WE HAVE TO SAVE HER, APPA YIP-YIP” The great Air bison sensed Sokka urgency and powered in to the air at top speed. Appa Skimmed low over the swift river despreat to catch the lost Toph.

Toph was in an alien world of fear, panic and pain, her lungs burned for air but the water pulled at her keep her from the air as she tumbled along the harsh river. Suddenly a she was “spat” out of the water and fell heavy on to the land Coughing water form her lungs, she felt the ragging battle she had fallen in the middle of.

The sounds of the battle where ring in her ears, the crackling hiss of the fire benders attack, the hallow thump of fist solidly hitting a body and a strange metallic humming nosie that rang out like a bell occasionally. Then all the sounds ended with the three bodies falling to the ground with a plop.
Toph Staggered to her feet as the victor of the battle came to her side with soft even steps “Are you ok kid’ came a gentle male voice. “Don’t Call me KID” Toph replied indignantly “Ok, sweet heart how did a little cutie like you end up in the river?” Toph fumed hearing the smile in his voice Toph’s heckles rose as she rounded on the man. “Look here Mr. Hero boy, I’M Toph Bei Fong, The greatest Earthbender in the WORLD” She proclaimed jabbing a finger in to his chest after each statement to get her point across and nock him on to his ass. “Okokokokok” the rest of his laughing was cut short by Appa thunderous growl as he bowling the friendly man over as Katara and Sokka leap off to help Toph.

Katara ran to Toph side to see if she was hurt as Sokka faced off with the Stranger.
“Hey Sugar queen,” Toph whispered to Katara “what’s Mr. hero boy look like?” Katara whispered her response as the man in question got up pissed at getting knock down. “ he is a head taller and has slightly broader shoulder then Sokka, he’s bare foot in a black sleeveless Ba Gua, he as a lean handsome faces with he’s lightly built with a tone form.” She took a moment to catch her breath from talking so fast “His eyes are dark yet wise, his hair is long, Black and braided down his back .

“Ya and I’m drop dead sexy too” He called out to the girls and smirked at Sokka as he bristled with the comment. Katara blushed darkly and turned to hide her embarrassment as Toph simply snorted and crossed her arms unimpressed yet lightly blush. “SO, Mr smarty pants who are you and what are you dong here?” Sokka demanded “How rude of me” He tucked his staff be hind him and then bowed courteously to the small group “I am Kuroi Hebi the Waterbender, please call me Hebi, it is a pleaser to meet you all.” He smiled as he stood “All im doing is kick Fire nation Ass and saving sweet young maidens from rivers.” He straitened with a cocky smile dancing on his lips.

With his introduction and the sight of the fallen Fire nation solders, the gang invited him back to camp. At the camp he saw the sick Aang “will he be ok” He ask but No one answered, as Katara went in to the tent and closed it off hide Aang from view. “Ok, So what are you kids dong out in the dangerous world” Sokka took a deep breath and told him there story as Hebi clean up and dress in a green long robe “wow you guys have had the shit kick out of you, a lot” he stated bluntly “But I think I can help you” “How” Toph and Sokka Asked together.

Hebi smiled “this river, is part of the fire nations supply line, I know that a prison transport from Ba Sing Se is coming down it, The bet is 10 to 1 that you friends are on it.” Sokka moved closer as he called for Katara “Then we make plains to hit the ship how long do we have,” “At least a day and a night” Hebi answered

The rest of the day was spent planing, and preparing for the prison transport. Little did they know that it was more then a transport for poisoners
