The prose is very tight and I like the words you used, maelstrom and such. And Dib's conflicted desires, how you phrased that was good. I was really happy at the end when they were just pretending, I felt better about the entire scene since there wasn't a danger of real violence, but at the same time, while I was reading it, the threat of something bad happening made it better. Yay! And any scene ending in a cuddle with promises of more is amazing.
