Chapter 6
Steven had needed a rest after his sexually strenuous morning, so he went up to the master bedroom to take a nap. Jenny and Kiki joined him, being a bit physically and emotionally worn down from taking possession of Trixie.
But when Steven awoke, the Pizza twins were no longer alongside him. Instead, he found himself between Lapis and Sadie.
“Hello, Steven,” Sadie said, the messy orange lines adrift in her eyes.
“Hi,” Steven replied.
“Lapis brought me in here,” Sadie explained, “so you can breed me.”
He could feel what she was feeling: happiness and contentment. But at the same time, he sensed that this was a relative thing. She was happy now because she had been sad before. Sad, and then scared.
“It’s okay, Steven,” Sadie said, being able to feel his response to her. “I’m okay now. I’m just glad to be here.”
She sat up, letting the covers fall away from her naked body, and looked down at her own chest before pushing it out a bit at Steven. It was even more substantial than he remembered.
“Look,” she said proudly. “I’ve already started growing my breasts.”
Steven looked up at them and smiled a bit. “They’re nice.” Then he looked around. “Where are Jenny and Kiki?”
He hadn’t really needed to ask, as he could sense where they were: in Connie’s room, along with Connie herself. All three girls were feverish and faint.
“What- what’s happening to them?” Steven asked. “Are they going to be okay?”
“Dr. Maheswaran is taking care of them,” Lapis replied. “Pearl says that right now, you need to focus on Sadie.”
“Yes, please,” Sadie said, lying back down and snuggling up to Steven under the covers. “We need to get me pregnant as soon as we can.”
“I…” Steven began, “I don’t know if I…”
“Which is why I’m here to help,” Lapis said.
Lapis scooted toward the foot of the bed and took Steven’s flaccid cock completely into her mouth. The surprised boy moaned.
“Here,” Sadie said, taking Steven’s hands in her own. “This should help, too. Lars always likes doing it.”
She put Steven’s hands on her bare breasts. They had been nicely ample before, and now each was more than a handful, having been expanded by the Splinter and now swollen with Sadie’s desire. Her pale-pink nipples were stiff beneath Steven’s palms. Steven smiled at her, glad for her company and for the distraction from his worries.
“Yeah,” he said, “they’re definitely nice.”
Steven’s cock began to stiffen in Lapis’ mouth. She swallowed, taking the tip into her throat, and began to bob her head.
“Whoaaa,” Steven exhaled, squeezing Sadie’s breasts.
Sadie chuckled and kissed Steven on the lips. Soon, she was making out with him, even as Lapis deep-throated the entire length of Steven’s now fully erect cock.
It felt really good—not just the sexual attentions of the two women, but how much Sadie seemed to like being with Steven this way.
She gently broke off their kiss and put her lips to his ear.
“Give me a baby, Steven,” she murmured.
Lapis released Steven’s fully erect member from her mouth and added, “Yes, Steven, impregnate her.”
Sadie looked down and saw Steven’s cock. Now, it was nearly a foot long and as thick as his forearm. His balls hung heavily beneath it like a pair of oranges in a sack.
“Wow!” Sadie exclaimed. “You’re definitely gonna get me pregnant with that!”
Sadie rolled onto her back and pulled Steven on top of her.
“Put it in!” she cried eagerly.
Steven, caught up in Sadie’s enthusiasm, replied, “Open wide!”
Sadie threw her legs open as wide as possible, and Steven positioned his thick cockhead at her entrance.
“Here it comes!” Steven cried.
Steven had been planning to take it slow, but Sadie was so wet and so eager that he knew she wouldn’t want him to. So as soon as he was lined up to enter her, he thrust the first several inches of his cock into her in one stroke.
“Ah!” Sadie cried.
There was a scintilla of pain behind the shout, but it was nothing compared to Sadie’s excitement and joy. Steven pulled back slightly and pushed again, getting almost all the way in this time.
“Oh, God, Steven!” Sadie shouted. “You’re filling me up inside!”
Steven felt the meaning behind the words. Sadie didn’t merely feel filled in a physical sense; she felt fulfilled. Even though Steven was experiencing this emotion only vicariously, it was so powerful that he nearly wept.
But that wasn’t what either he or Sadie wanted in this moment. Right now, they both needed to fuck. Hard.
Steven plowed Sadie vigorously, and it felt so good to plunge into her tightly gripping channel again and again while knowing that he was giving her exactly what she wanted.
“Sadie,” he panted as he pumped her. “I’ve got a…big load…for you…You’re gonna…get pregnant… for sure…”
“Yes,” Sadie gasped. “I wanna…have your…baby…Steven…Put it…in me…”
Sadie thrust her hips up against Steven’s again and again, forcing his big member as far inside of her as it would go on every stroke. At the same time, she took hold of Steven’s face, locking eyes with him.
“Yes, Steven,” she moaned. “Yes, yes, yes…”
“Gonna…do it,” Steven gasped, now pumping Sadie as fast as he could. “Gonna…put a…baby…in you…right…NOW!”
Steven shoved in deep and came. Sadie pulled his head tight between her breasts and clung to his hips with her legs as she screamed, “Yes, YES, YEEEEEESSSSS!”
Simultaneously, Steven could feel the deeply gratifying sensations of a huge volume of cum shooting out of his own body and filling up Sadie’s. They held each other tight, continuing to scream their orgasmic ecstasy and ensuring that every single drop of Steven’s cum went as deep into Sadie’s body as possible.
When it was over, Steven rolled off of Sadie, and she pushed her side up tight against his.
“Oh, Steven,” she moaned happily, “I’ve never felt anything that good.”
Steven turned onto his side and put his arm around Sadie as he replied, “I’m glad I could make you feel like that.”
They lay there for nearly a minute, just breathing and happy. Then the thoughts and feelings of the others in the house began to seep in, and Steven’s worries about Connie, Jenny, and Kiki returned. And Steven, like the others, suddenly knew that it was time to meet.
***
“We must discuss how we are going to proceed,” Pearl said grimly.
They were all in Connie’s bedroom. Connie lay on her bed, and Kiki and Jenny were on inflatable mattresses on the floor next to her. All three looked sweaty, feverish, and barely conscious. And now, Dr. Maheswaran, who had been tending to them, was sitting in a chair, looking a bit feverish herself. Doug Maheswaran was leaning against the doorway, also not looking so good.
Connie raised her head slightly when Steven and the others came in.
“This body,” Connie moaned feebly. “It’s…rejecting us.”
“Oh, no,” Steven breathed.
After a silent moment, Pearl said soberly, “We knew this was a possibility. Our understanding of biological life is limited, especially with regard to the complexities of immunity.”
“So this is going to happen to all of us?” Trixie asked nervously.
“No…it can’t,” Sadie half whispered. Her voice rose as she went on, “It can’t be over already. We only just got started!”
“Isn’t there something we can do?” Lapis asked.
“I could give them immunosuppressants,” Priyanka Maheswaran replied wearily. “But the doses I’d have to use…Well, if any of them are pregnant, those pregnancies would almost certainly be terminated.”
“Which,” Peridot interjected, “would defeat the purpose of this operation.”
“I think this operation’s over,” Greg Universe said. He gestured at the three girls. “I mean, look at them. They’re not gonna last long enough to have those babies.”
“Agreed,” Priyanka replied.
“Fortunately,” Pearl said, “we have a contingency plan. We will find out how Rose Quartz became pregnant with Steven so that we can duplicate the process ourselves.”
“Yes,” Peridot agreed. “If we Gems mate with male humans as the Quartz did, we can produce female offspring that Steven could then breed to create a population of stable hybrids.”
“But the three of us won’t be enough,” Lapis countered. “Rose Quartz had to give up her physical form to make Steven. If it takes one Gem to produce one hybrid, then we’ll need more Gems.”
“Indeed,” Peridot replied, musing. “If the process does not require the Gem’s cooperation, perhaps we could unbubble any intact Gems in the temple and forcibly impregnate them. Jasper wouldn’t do, of course, as jaspers are immune to us, but Bismuth would be an excellent candidate. Perhaps others, too.”
“Let us not get ahead of ourselves,” Pearl said. “We will track down Rose Quartz’s research and then determine the next steps.”
***
Amethyst, following the instructions that Rose Quartz had recorded for her on the armory’s console, had just finished attaching remote receivers to four cylindrical devices that she had retrieved from the armory’s collection. Now she heard voices coming from somewhere near the mouth of the cave. Lion sniffed the air, then growled long and low.
“Shhh, quiet, boy,” Amethyst whispered.
It had to be Pearl and the others. No one else knew about this place.
Guess I’m gonna be using these sooner than I figured, Amethyst thought, hefting the four canisters.
Moving quickly, she placed them in the four corners of the room, hiding them as best she could. Then she and Lion hid behind a pillar, Amethyst peeking around at the door while keeping her thumb poised over the single button on a small remote.
She saw a group of people enter the room. Pearl, Peridot, and Lapis Lazuli were in the lead, followed by Steven, Greg, Sadie, and a red-haired girl Amethyst didn’t know.
Perfect—they were all in the room, gathering around the console. Amethyst pressed her thumb down on the remote.
The four cylinders made a high-pitched whine as they presumably did what they were designed to do: produce a massive radiofrequency pulse that would temporarily render each microscopic particle of the Splinter unable to communicate with the others. Rose had said that the effect would be like separating all of the neurons in a human brain from one another, turning a smart, multi-celled organ into millions of dumb, single-celled ones. This would free the possessed Gems and humans from the Splinter long enough to take a series of chemical cocktails that Rose had developed to purge the Splinter from their bodies permanently.
But apart from looking startled by the noise, the seven possessed persons in the room seemed completely unaffected by the pulse.
“Oh, Amethyst,” Pearl called out smugly. “I’m afraid the first thing I did after I took possession of Steven was come here and disable Rose’s ‘cure’ for us. Those cylinders now broadcast at entirely the wrong frequency.”
Then Pearl looked at the others. “Spread out and find her.”
“Lion!” Amethyst hissed, clambering onto the pink beast’s back. “Get us out of here!”
Lion lay down on the floor, rolling onto his side. Amethyst fell off and landed on her butt. She leaped to her feet.
“C’mon, ya big dumb carnival prize!” she hissed. “We need to run!”
Lion yawned and closed his eyes.
“You’ve gotta be kidding me,” Amethyst whispered.
She was screwed. Royally screwed. They were going to find her soon, and while Amethyst had little to fear from the humans in the group, there were four Gems present. Amethyst guessed that a fight against them would probably end in about ten seconds—and not in her favor.
Amethyst wished it were Steven, and not she, who was free from the Splinter’s control. Steven always seemed to find a way to pull out a win when things seemed hopeless. He had almost single-handedly stopped the Cluster from destroying the Earth. What would he do in this situation?
Amethyst saw Sadie move in her direction, looking around.
Making sure to stay in the shadows, Amethyst whispered, “What do you want?”
“We fear nothing,” Sadie replied flatly.
“Uh, that doesn’t really answer my question,” Amethyst whispered back.
Amethyst knew she had just started the clock; soon, the others would move in to corner her. Amethyst had to try and figure this Splinter thing out while she still had the chance.
“We need hosts,” Sadie said. “Without them, we’re nothing.” She swallowed. “We don’t like being nothing.”
Now we’re getting somewhere, Amethyst thought.
“What do you mean, ‘nothing’?” she asked
“Without hosts, we’re alone. In the dark. Afraid.”
Amethyst could hear multiple sets of footsteps approaching. Her time was nearly up. She needed an idea, a big idea, like Steven had when he stopped the Cluster from-
Wait a sec.
“What if-” Amethyst blurted, “what if I could find you, you know, better hosts? Like, Gem-type hosts?”
From behind Amethyst, a familiar voice asked, “What do you mean?”
Amethyst spun around and saw Pearl. The white Gem had very nearly sneaked up on Amethyst.
“The, the Cluster,” Amethyst stammered.
“The Cluster?” Peridot said, stepping up next to Pearl. “It’s a mass of fragments. It doesn’t even have a physical form.”
“Do you need a physical form?” Amethyst asked.
She had just been trying to buy time while she thought of another idea. But the possessed Gems and humans, who were now gathering around her, seemed to be taking her question seriously.
“We only require physical bodies,” Pearl reasoned, “to acquire more hosts.”
“But the Cluster would provide a virtually unlimited number of hosts,” Peridot added. “We wouldn’t need to have bodies.”
“Yeah,” Steven agreed. “We could be down there for a bajillion years and never run out of Gem shards to possess! And they could use the company.”
“We would simply need to go to the drilling site,” Peridot added. “We could access the Cluster from there. But all of us must go; the ones at the Maheswaran dwelling, too.”
“How do we get everyone there?” Sadie asked.
Lion raised his head.
***
Hours later, Connie’s eyelids fluttered open, and the girl found herself looking up at the rafters of Steven’s house. She was lying on Steven’s bed, with Jenny and Kiki next to her. Somewhere nearby, she could hear Steven and Amethyst talking quietly.
“You’re a hero, Amethyst,” Steven was saying. “You saved all of us.”
“Well,” Amethyst replied, a bit bashful, “I just tried to think of what you would do.”
Connie open her eyes and turned over to look at Steven and Amethyst. Steven noticed immediately.
“Connie,” Steven whispered, coming to the bedside. “How are you feeling?”
“I…I think I’m okay,” Connie whispered back.
She got up, making sure she felt all right. Then she walked out the front door. Steven followed her to the deck outside.
“How much do you remember?” he asked.
She looked at him, then looked away.
“I remember enough.”
“Yeah,” Steven said somberly. “Me…me too.”
Connie forced herself to look at him.
“Steven,” she said, “I…what happened…it wasn’t your fault. It wasn’t you doing those things.”
“I know,” Steven answered. “I know I didn’t do them. But…”
Connie looked at the floor. “Yeah. I get it.”
Steven’s voice perked up the tiniest bit as he said, “You do?”
“You feel bad because…because you liked it. Right?”
Steven exhaled. “Right.”
“You had all these, these girls and women, doing…everything. It’s, it’s like…every boy’s fantasy, isn’t it?”
She heard Steven swallow, and she knew how deeply ashamed he was.
“But the thing is…it wasn’t just you who liked parts of what we did.”
Steven was silent for a moment. Then he said, “Huh?”
“Steven, I… I sicced you on my mother. It was my idea that we go to my house. It was my idea that you…rape her. Even though I still remembered how horrible it was when you raped me.”
“Connie, I’m so sorry, I-!”
“No. You don’t need to be any sorrier than I am. Because I did the same thing. I knew exactly how awful it would be for her, and I still…I wanted her to feel that.” She swallowed. “I think I, I never realized how angry I was at her for, you know, controlling my life as much as she does. And…I wanted to be the one in control for once.”
The front door opened, and Pearl and Trixie came out onto the front porch.
“I don’t think you were the only one with control issues,” Steven said to Connie.
“You certainly weren’t,” Pearl said. Then she turned to the red-haired girl next to her. “Trixie, I can’t tell you how sorry I am for what I did. I was so cruel to you.”
“But,” Trixie replied, “that was the Splinter, right?”
“What we did to you was the Splinter’s agenda, yes,” Pearl replied. “But what I said to you…” She cast her eyes downward, her cheeks turning blue with shame. “…that was me.”
Pearl turned her eyes upward as though she were looking in the direction of Homeworld as she continued, “I was created to be a servant. Then, after I came to Earth, I became Rose Quartz’s loyal follower. Only after ten thousand years of doing what I was told did I become a teacher, for Steven and Connie. And then a project manager, when we built the Gem drill.”
Pearl paused, looking around at the others on the porch.
“But,” she finally said, “I’ve never been a leader. Not until the Splinter came along.” She turned back to Trixie. “And when we took you, and, and violated you…I felt like I had absolute power over you. Like I could do anything I wanted to you. And that felt good. A horrible, ugly kind of good.”
“I felt that, too,” Steven confessed. “I think that’s what it feels like to, to be a bully.”
“Yeah,” Connie said, looking down again.
“Yeah,” Greg agreed as he quietly stepped out onto the porch. “I had no idea there was something so awful inside me. I don’t know how I’m ever going to look Sadie in the eye again.”
As if queued, Sadie emerged behind Greg.
“What you did to me was horrible,” Sadie said, making Greg wince. “But honestly, if things had kept going on the way they were, I…I know I would have done something just as terrible to the next person.”
She turned to the group.
“It’s like, suddenly I was part of something,” Sadie went on. “We had this big plan, and we were all in it together. And it’s like I didn’t even care that it was about, you know, aliens taking over the world. I was just glad to be doing something that seemed important, instead of just…working at my dead-end job, and…dating a guy who’s maybe not all that into me…”
Steven put a hand on Sadie’s.
Continuing what seemed to be a steady stream of people emerging onto the patio, Priyanka Maheswaran came out. Doug followed her, seemingly avoiding eye contact with everyone, and behind him, the Pizza twins came out the door, too.
“If there’s any good news here,” Dr. Maheswaran said, “it’s that all of our physical changes are being undone. We should all be back to normal by morning. And none of us is pregnant…anymore, at least.”
“Yeah,” Kiki said. “I kind of…felt that, when the Splinter left my body.”
“Me, too,” Connie added, looking down at the wooden deck.
***
After it seemed like everyone had said what they needed to say, Dr. Maheswaran checked each of them out to make sure that no one had any injuries or neurological deficits from their experience with the Splinter. As the doctor cleared them one by one, they started heading home. Those who were left were inside the house or out on the front porch, so Steven asked Connie to come down to the beach with him for a minute.
They walked along the shore, away from the house. A half moon was rising into the sky behind them.
When they were out of earshot of the others, Steven was about to speak, but Connie beat him to it.
“Like I said before,” she said, “I don’t blame you. For any of it.”
“I- I know,” Steven stammered.
“I just…I don’t want you to think that I’m…scared of you, or something. I’m not.”
“Thanks,” Steven said. “‘Cause…there’s something I want to say, and I’m scared to say it to anyone but you.”
“What is it, Steven?” Connie asked.
Steven’s gaze lowered to the sand in front of his feet as he replied, “I…miss it.”
Connie didn’t have to ask what he meant.
“Yeah,” she replied, also looking down.
“I mean,” Steven quickly added, “not just all the…you know.”
“The sex,” Connie said. “We did it so much, it seems kind of silly not to say it.”
“Right. I don’t just miss the sex. I also miss…being with you, like we were.”
Connie stopped walking.
“I…” She swallowed. “I miss that, too.”
After a moment, she went on, “It was like, like we didn’t have to think about the future, you know? Like, I didn’t have to worry about doing all the things I’m supposed to do when I’m older. We just…skipped to the good part.”
“Yeah,” Steven agreed. Toeing the sand, he added, “I guess now, we don’t get to skip.”
He looked up at Connie. “But…that doesn’t mean we won’t get to the good part someday.”
Connie didn’t speak. She just took Steven’s hand, and they walked back to the house.
